PETER PARKER HAD prepared for this ever since school had started. At first, he ultimately believed that he would ask Liz Allen, but he soon had discovered that he was falling in love with his best friend, y/n y/l/n.
"H-Hey, y/n/n." Peter shouted over the chatter of teenagers in the lunchroom. "uh, could I talk to you for a second?"
You smiled sympathetically at him. "Is it important? I forgot to study for the history test today."
He shuffled around a bit as you stared down at the material you wished you memorized. You had been so swallowed up in your art assignment, that you had lost track of time and managed to fall asleep in a small pool of vibrant paint. With the forgotten algebra homework and attempts to get the paint off of your face, you misplaced the textbook and barely got to school on time.
You didn't get a chance to shut your textbook before Peter blurted out what he wanted to talk to you about.
"Would you go to homecoming with me, y/n?"
The pencil you were holding in your hand dropped to the table, gaze immediately noticing Peter and a bundle of your favourite flowers. From the corner of your eye, you could see Liz recording the moment, Ned and MJ smiling right beside you.
"I'm so sorry that I didn't pay attention to you for at least a minute, Peter," you started, getting up and walking over to him. "I would love to go to homecoming with you!"
Peter let out a breath of relief, happy that you didn't leave him with the first three words that slipped out of your lips.

THREE WEEKS LATER, there you were, putting the finishing touches on your look before Peter rang the doorbell and swept you away to an unforgettable night.
Just the plain thought of going with someone that you had liked for years was nerve wracking enough. Let alone the dance itself. Slipping your shoes on and taking one last glance at yourself, you nodded in acceptance.
As soon as you heard the doorbell ring, you ran over to the window, just hoping to see Peter. Surprisingly, he didn't see you. You watched him take a deep breath, his nerves getting the best of him.
Carefully getting away from the window without drawing attention to yourself, you stumbled downstairs and almost reached the door. Unfortunately, your younger sibling opened up the door, squealing when he saw his sister's best friend.
"Peter! You're here!" He yelled, smiling back at you and mouthing 'it's peter!'
"I know!" You whispered back, smiling at the silliness of the two combined.
When your gaze met Peter's he looked like he had just seen something out of Supernatural. He was staring at you with love and sparkles in his eyes, loving the way you had curled your hair and matched the color of your dress so that it complimented every feature you had. You quickly noticed that he had a colored corsage that perfectly matched your dress and his suit.
"Y-you look really nice, y/n." He scrunched his nose, cringing at the awkward compliment. "I mean, uh, beautiful."
A blush rose to your cheeks, letting out a little laugh at Peter's embarrassment. "You clean up nice, Parker."
You two only had minutes to admire each other until your parents came through the hallway, wanting everything from pictures to wanting to hear about the recent events going on with him and May. After all, it had been a while since you all had one big dinner together.
Peter walked up to you, smiling as he placed a small kiss on your cheek. You knew he was extremely nervous about tonight. He had mentioned that he had made sure that the guy he was chasing was in Tony's hands, making a majority of his stress go away. But he wanted to make this night perfect for you.
Your little moment was interrupted when your parents ran into the room, cameras in hand.
"I'm going to apologize now for the photo shoot we're about to have."

YOUR ARMS WERE loosely wrapped around Peter's neck, his hands on your waist. Slow music was playing from the speakers, every other couple on the dance floor.
"You know, I didn't think you would ask me to homecoming," you admitted, shyly smiling at Peter. "I always thought you would ask Liz."
"And when you walked in with the roses, my heart shattered, but then lunch came around. And you asked me. Me of all people, Peter. If you don't mind me asking, why?"
Peter's eyebrows knitted together, him not understanding why you thought that you were nothing but a friend.
"Well, y/n, you completely are oblivious. I tried to make up excuses for you to come over, and I even bribed Jack to tell you that I liked you. Five bucks down the drain." He laughed, smiling down at you.
You remembered the day that your little brother notified you of the money he had gotten. "I was wondering where he got that money from. He bought a Spider-Man shirt with that."
"What a rat, I even gave him a script!"
"Oh my God, are you serious?" A loud laugh escaped your lips, throwing your head back as multiple couples stared at you. "That's what he framed in his room!"
You and Peter started hysterically laughing, beginning to be the center of attention. Before the two of you could get any more embarrassed, Peter took your hand and started leading you towards the courtyard. Nerves were no longer in his system, replaced by nothing but happiness.
"Oh, y/n, what have you done to me? I've fallen in love with you." He blurted out, looking at you with love in his eyes.
You laughing abruptly stopped, now searching for any sign that may lead to him joking. But he wasn't, and in fact, you were in love with him too. "I've fallen in love with you too."
A grin spread across his face, cupping your cheeks with his cold hands. You shivered, his cold body starting to lower the temperature of yours. The fact that it was a cold fall season didn't help either.
"Let's go inside," You whispered, not pulling away from Peter's grasp. "But I-"
"Can I kiss you?" Peter interrupted you, staring at your lips.
"Yeah. I-I'd like that. Wait, shit that sounded weird. Sor-"
His lips pressing to yours stopped the words from flowing out of your mouth, butterflies erupting in your stomach.
"What have you done to me, Peter?"
