All Good Things...

June didn't know how to move.

It was such a cliche way to describe the sensation clumping inside his lungs, but he didn't know what else to say to bring his emotions to life. The face of June's Park Jimin was right in front of him, but no words could come out of June's mouth to express what he had to say. Not only was Jungkook's Jimin in the corner, but June's Jimin stood in front of him. Two Jimins in one place.

Jimin, June's Jimin, glanced around to ensure no one was watching before he approached June. He folded his hands together as soon as he was close enough to speak.

"Jungkook, I'm so sorry to drop in on you like this, but we need to talk," Jimin said. "Something happened-"

Jimin broke off when he saw his doppelgänger in the booth behind June. The two Jimins stared at each other with their jaws on the ground and their eyes bulging from their skulls.

"We have bigger problems," June said in a rushed mutter. June pointed to the sitting Jimin. "I hate to kick you out, but you need to go. You two can't be seen in the same place. Follow me, I'll take you out back." June turned to his Jimin. "You, sit. We'll talk in a minute."

Although June's heart didn't know how to keep beating, June managed to get Jungkook's Jimin out the back. He made sure Jimin hid in June's car with the doors locked. For extra security, Jimin ducked in the back. Luckily, he was short enough that anyone passing by wouldn't see him through the windows.

When that was taken care of, June went back inside. He stood in front of the kitchen doors and considered pushing them open, but he hesitated. Everything happened so fast, he didn't get a chance to process what he had just witnessed. Not only were there two Jimins in the same place, but one of them was June's Jimin. The one he hadn't seen in six years. The one married to Raven. The one with a family.

His hand shuddered in the tiny gap between it and the doors. All his senses throbbed inside his mind. The chefs cleaned up the stoves not far behind him, and June heard every squeak of their rags and every brush of the broom. He could smell the vegetable oil. He could taste the thick cigarette smoke scent that clung to the two managers that could care less about their jobs. Everything clicked into place at the same time, and as soon as it did, bile burned the back of his throat.

June set his shoulders and left the kitchen before the sensations had the chance to overwhelm him. He saw Jimin waiting in the booth. Jimin bounced his leg and fiddled with his fingers. He even gnawed on his lower lip until dead skin got pried off by his crooked tooth.

Without giving himself time to think, June went over and sat across from Jimin. Neither of them exchanged words. They stared and stared, and there were a million emotions hiding inside Jimin's sparkling irises. There was love, but also a depression June hadn't seen in his eyes since the day he left.

"How did you find me?" June asked to break the ice.

"The news never shuts up about Spiderman. I didn't have much to go on, so I followed the reports about where you were spotted solving crime. I've been here for months trying to find you. I almost gave up."

"I wasn't exactly in this universe," June said, crossing his legs.

"Yeah, you want to tell me why the fuck another Park Jimin was sitting here?"

"Too much to explain without your head blowing up."

"I doubt you can do any more damage to my mental state."

June thought Jimin was joking, but based on the jittering eyes and clammy hands Jimin had, June realized that was far from the truth. Part of him wanted to ask what happened; however, they needed to take things one step at a time.

"Everything I'm about to tell you is true, so please don't call bullshit," June said, and Jimin agreed. "You've seen the news about me going to the bank?"

"Yeah, and after one robbery, you disappeared. I got here not long before that."

"The multiverse exists, and a portal to another universe was in that bank- hang on, don't question it yet," June said, holding up his hand when Jimin went to interject. "A man named Min Yoongi wanted to go into another universe to see Jin. They... they were best friends. I tried to stop him, but..."

"But?"

"He told me I could see the ones I loved again. I thought of you, Rave, Angel, Tae... I couldn't stop myself. I went with him."

"If it means anything, I'm here now," Jimin said.

It meant something to June, but he couldn't express it. After everything he had been through the past two months, he didn't know how to respond to the world anymore. It felt as though he was getting beaten over and over again, and there was never a chance to throw in the towel.

June smiled instead of answering Jimin's words. "That Jimin is from another world. He followed me even though I told him to go back. He knows about you. He asked a lot about Raven."

Jimin clicked his tongue. "He really is another me."

"Yeah, and it was all fun and games until we met Raven in that world too."

Jimin went pale. "Shit, seriously? What about Angel and Tae?"

"No Angel, but Tae, yeah. Turns out you and some others went on to be global superstars named BTS. Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, you, Tae, and me."

"You met yourself?"

"I did. Listen, I'd love to tell you all the details, but you're here for a reason. I just got done with that part of my life. Please, tell me why you're here. Why visit now after all these years?"

"It's my daughter," Jimin said, and June stiffened at that.

"What about her?"

Jimin pulled his hands off the table and sank back in the booth. He averted his eyes and gazed out the window, watching the cars go by. A grin blessed Jimin's lips, but it wasn't one of amusement. Terror swam inside Jimin's expression, but he never dared face June again.

"She paralyzed someone."

~~~
June paced around his apartment.
Both of the Jimins sat on the couch. Blonde Jimin, AKA June's Jimin, had the same worried look ever since he told June about his daughter. June didn't know how to react to any of that. As soon as Jimin said those words, he clocked out early and made the managers take care of the last two tables under the disguise that June had a family emergency. His panicked state sure sold the excuse, but there was a high chance the emergency would last longer than one shift.
"Your daughter paralyzed someone from the neck down?" June asked, and Jimin didn't comment. June took the silence as a yes. "The victim doesn't remember anything?"
"No. He said something about falling at recess."
"What the fuck, what the fuck." June pulled on strands of his hair. "Why? How?"
"He was harassing her. She got mad and tackled him."
"But how does a child paralyze someone-"
"She bit him."
An eerie calm filled the air. It held June's body in a claustrophobic embrace. Sweat stained his forehead, and the other Jimin stayed in the corner while pretending to understand what was happening. June lowered his hands from his mouth and stopped biting on his nails. His tongue ran along his canine teeth, and his lungs shriveled inside his chest.
"She..."
"We've had our suspicions ever since she was born," Jimin said with a sigh. "The more she grows, the more she shows signs. Whatever venom you put in Raven did something to our girl."
"Jimin, as concerning as this is, I don't know anything about this. You need to take this to a scientist or a doctor."
"We have."
"Then why are you here?"
"Raven gives birth to our son in three months. If we have not one but two superpowered children, do you have any idea what that will do to our family?" Jimin asked, and June fell quiet. "Our daughter ruined someone's life by accident. What happens when they go through puberty? What happens if they get mad at our dog and bite him?"
June sniffled. "You got a dog?"
"Jungkook," Jimin said, standing. "I'd love to catch up with you, but my children come first. Please, we need to go. We bought a house here so we could look for you. Come on, I'll show you."
"Wait." June pointed to the other Jimin. "I need to take him back. I understand your children are a top priority, but not getting this Jimin back home could hurt the space time continuum."
"I know, but please, let's stop by my house first. It's on the way to the bank anyway."
Although June wanted to protest, he agreed. Together, the three of them piled inside June's car. June trusted Jimin to drive. The entire ride was silent. Even the other Jimin didn't bother asking questions.
When they pulled in front of Jimin's house, June pressed his head against the window so he could see better. The porch was larger than June's entire apartment. There were white railings illuminated by the bright moon. The grass was perfectly cut, and June could smell how fresh it was. The front door had a gold handle that contrasted the dark wood. The entire house had a black and white design. It was sleek and minimalistic with no decorations out front.
Jimin parked in the driveway despite how there was a garage. He unbuckled and unlocked the vehicle, but before he stepped out, he sat back and met June's eyes.
"In the other universe," Jimin said, out of breath. "Was Aviva...?"
June grabbed his pocket, the pocket with his phone in it. The desire to call her hit his core. He lowered his head and poked his tongue against his cheek, which made Jimin back off.
"Come on, they're probably playing outside."
They entered the giant home with wooden floors, chandeliers, and marble countertops around every corner. The walls and ceiling matched the theme outside, and there was little furniture either due to Raven and Jimin having a minimalistic taste or not wanting to risk their kid running into anything.
The back door was in the kitchen that had a fridge the size of June's closet. It had an ice machine, and June drooled at the sight. It reminded him of the home he had grown up in, and the thought of his mother made him wince and tear his gaze away from the machine.
Outside was a stretch of grassy land with an inground pool in the middle. The fence surrounding the yard had paintings on it, likely done by a toddler. There were scratch marks and dates to represent their child's height, and June fought the urge to snicker at how short she was. Like father like daughter.
"Babe," Jimin said to his wife, and June stepped out from behind Jimin.
Before him was the redhead he hadn't seen in years. This time, she was playing with a German Shepherd and a little girl with thick black hair and a soft nose. She had the same puppy eyes as Jimin, even the same cheekbones. The little girl snapped her head up and beamed at the sight of June.
She got on her short legs and waddled over to June, hugging his knee. June laughed and ruffled her hair. The girl responded by giggling and cheering.
"I'm here too, Irene," Jimin said, and the girl pulled away from June and pouted. "Fine, fine. Give love to the stranger, not your dad."
She clapped her hands and ran toward Jimin. He knelt in time to sweep her up in his arms. He laughed and kissed the top of her head, bouncing her against his chest.
"Is my little princess enjoying her night?" Jimin asked, booping his nose off hers.
"Mommy gave me chocolate milk."
Jimin side-eyed his wife. "Oh did she now?"
Raven, with the German Shepherd, approached with an amused glint in her eyes. "More like she stole from my glass." She kissed Jimin's cheek before turning to June. "So, you aren't dead. We weren't sure."
"That's one way to greet an old friend, Mrs. Park."
She chuckled. "Cover her ears." As soon as Jimin did, she hugged June. "Your asshole setting never dials down, does it?"
"Mrs. Park!" Jimin said with an offended gasp. His dog barked from the sudden tone change. "There are children around!"
"By children, he means him," the other Jimin said, which caused the entire group to freeze.
Those were the first words other Jimin had said since June's Jimin arrived. June returned Raven's embrace, but quickly turned to face the other Jimin.
"Honey," blonde Jimin said as soon as Raven went to confront the duplicate. "Just... don't. Don't even ask, it's more complicated than quantum physics. He's me from another world. Please don't, I'll explain later. Speaking of." Jimin pointed his baby-like finger in the other Jimin's direction. "No funny business. This is my woman, got it? If you want a Raven, go back to yours."
The other Jimin flicked his gaze between the four of them—Irene, Jimin, the sitting German Shepherd, and Raven. He had bliss in his expression, and his lips parted to show off his perfect smile.
"How'd we do?" he asked in a whisper.
Jimin's face fell, but after a moment, he laughed and answered in a soft voice. "We did good."
The other Jimin had tears in his eyes as he nodded once. Twice. Three times. Then, he backed away. However, it was as if Jimin could sense the other Jimin's emotions. He set Irene down and approached his twin. As soon as his twin went to speak, Jimin hugged him.
Irene didn't question what was going on, and neither did Raven. She had a prominent baby bump showing through her emerald sundress. She rested her hand on it and watched her husband hug another version of himself. June had always admired her ability to stay calm under pressure, but that amplified considering she was doing it again, only this time, she was pregnant too.
"I'm proud of you," Jimin said to his twin, and the other Jimin clung to his shirt.
"How? You don't know me."
June snorted. "Now you know how I felt."
The other Jimin giggled as he pulled back, and he thanked Jimin for such kind words. June was able to read Jungkook's mind because they were the same person. He wondered if the two Jimins had the same uncanny ability. Seeing as they couldn't take their eyes off each other, June was willing to bet they could.
"As fun as this is," Jimin said, motioning to Irene. "We need to talk about her."
"Have you tried to get her to climb on walls?"
"She can't do it well, but yes. Watch."
Jimin and Raven hoisted their little girl up and put her on the side of their house. The dog rushed up, but Jimin made a whistle noise that caused the German Shepherd to back off. They let Irene go but kept their hands close. Irene stuck there. She panicked, causing tears to rush into her eyes.
"Oh baby girl," Jimin muttered, scooping her back up. "You're okay, I have you."
June rubbed his eyes as if that would change what he had just witnessed. "Okay, so she has powers, they're just not developed yet."
"It gets worse," Raven said. "We went to doctors and scientists, but they didn't know what the hell was wrong with her either. That was a stupid mistake, we should've went to you right away. Someone's coming after her. She hasn't been to school in months. The last time she went, she almost got kidnapped by someone posing as a security guard. Someone wants her, but we don't know who."
"You need a protector."
"And a way to figure this out. We were hoping you might be able to tell us some good news. It's been years, after all."
"I wish I could say I understood my venom bite better, but I don't." June paused and raised his finger. "I have a scientist friend, I work for him as a bodyguard. You have good timing, he's studying my blood. We'll take her there first thing tomorrow morning, after I get this one out of here." He pointed to the other Jimin. "I'll stay with you guys tonight just in case."
Raven nudged June's shoulder. "Looks like you got smarter. What happened to Jeon Jungkook the bully?"
"He's been gone for years," June said before snickering. "And Rave?"
She nodded.
"It's June now. Park June."
~~~

The portal waited for Jimin.

June had called Hoseok to inform him of the situation, and Hoseok had the bank shut down right away so June could escort Jungkook's Jimin back home. They were in the vault now, and the portal called to them. June would never enter it again, but it brought a strange comfort to his stomach to know he had helped others. The idea of meeting another version of himself still made his brain feel like mush, but he forced the thoughts away to instead focus on Park Jimin.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but don't come back," June said, and Jimin chuckled.

"I won't need to. You'll be in my dreams every night."

"You're worse than my Jimin," June mumbled, rubbing his forehead with his fingers.

Jimin went toward the portal, but June stopped him. He wanted to embrace Jimin, but he didn't have the strength to. His arms couldn't move, so Jimin did the action on his behalf.

Jimin gave June a small embrace that lasted no more than five seconds. When it was over, Jimin smiled. His eyes crinkled as soon as he did.

"Good luck."

June squeezed Jimin's shoulder. "Thank you, I'll need it. Can you do me a favor?"

"Hm?"

"Take care of yourself. You deserve it."

Jimin backed away and went near the portal instead of answering. He faced the bright lights and looked like he was about to go in. Then, he tilted his head over his shoulder to lock eyes with June.

"You know, I never deleted Raven's number."

June smiled and shook his head. "Goodbye, Park Jimin."

He watched and made sure Jimin got through the portal okay. His body morphed in and out before disappearing. Just like that, Park Jimin was gone, leaving June with the "real" version from his universe. Jimin was waiting outside near the car with Raven and Irene. He insisted on not leaving them home alone, but the idea of June going to a scary bank with a portal also didn't appeal to him. That led to the entire crew going to say farewell to the other Jimin, even though only June knew him.

June had thought he'd cry, but no tears came. Pride entered his veins and smiled to him as it danced its way up to his mind. He had brought the other Jimin peace. He hoped he did the same for Jungkook, but there was no way of knowing for sure. Yet, for some reason, June held out hope. Perhaps he would drink a banana milk in Jungkook's name.

June left the bank and noticed there was a bank of grass on his right, which overlooked one of the many rivers in his area. There were a few trees, but no people admiring the beautiful night with clean air and stars shining in the sky.

"June," Jimin said. He leaned against the car and beckoned June over, but June couldn't go. He had one more thing to do.

"One minute."

Jimin didn't question it as June went to the grass. He stepped toward the ledge and observed the way the water moved. The moon's glistening light kissed the river below him. A gentle breeze tapped on his cheeks and greeted him with an acceptance he hadn't had in years. His hand went for his phone, and as soon as it was unlocked, he took himself to his contacts. Aviva waited for him. Her number flashed on the screen, as did the 'call' button he had pressed every day for years.

June stared at it as the night carried on without a hitch. He could hear her laugh in his mind. That sweet melody had kept him fighting for years, but now, he strained to hear it. It sat in the back of his head just out of reach. As if he couldn't see her anymore.

His thumb hovered close to the green button that flashed for him. The screen dimmed in preparation for the call. June waited and waited, and at the last second, he went to the three dots in the corner. The 'delete' button glowed a bright red that contrasted the call he had wanted to make. He glanced between the two.

He clicked on the red.

A loading bubble popped up, and a few seconds later, Aviva was gone. His contact list was reduced to the few he worked with, including Yoongi. Any remnants of the woman he loved became a memory he would never forget. A memory he would cherish. But also one he wouldn't let drag him down.

Jimin approached and stopped by June's side to admire the wonderful sight. Being in the same place as his best friend brought consolation to June's body, but he kept his eyes on his phone. On the spot Aviva just was.

"Are you ready to go?" Jimin asked to break the silence.

June stole another greedy second to gaze at the screen. Then, he shoved his phone in his pocket and turned toward Jimin. He smiled.

"Yeah."
