Wakanda: Part 1

(^Okay, first of all, I love all the Spideys, but Tom Holland was born to be Peter Parker and you cannot convince me otherwise. People always say he's too young! But Peter is supposed to be young. Anyway, on to the story!)

"You're going to Wakanda?" Ned whisper-screeched. "That's–that's...My god, Peter, you're so lucky!"

Peter grinned sheepishly in the seat across from his best friend. MJ glanced at them curiously and he motioned for Ned to quiet down. He didn't need the entire school to know he was going on a vacation with the rest of the Avengers to the newly 'opened' country.

"Yeah, the King is having a party or something for his mom's birthday and he invited the entire team. Mr. Stark and Ms. Potts are letting me tag along. It's going to be so awesome!"

Ned leaned in, pushing his finished test aside. "You don't think you could get me an invite, do you?"

"I'm sure Mr. Stark wouldn't mind," Peter shrugged. "You already know the whole team. They like you. Remember game night?"

"Are you kidding? That was the most intense twister game ever," Ned laughed softly. The teacher looked up from his book suspiciously and the two boys hurriedly grabbed their pencils to doodle on their papers. You have to at least look like you're doing something in school. When Mr. Aster rolled his eyes and went back to reading, the boys looked at each other again.

"Yeah, I'll ask after school," Peter assured him.

Ned whined impatiently. "Can't you just text him?"

"Oh, yeah," the teenage hero pulled his phone out, carefully hiding it from the teacher. He didn't really need his mobile to be taken away an hour before the end of school.

He sent a quick text to Tony.

Can Ned come to BP's party with us?

Then he shoved it in his pocket to await his answer. The billionaire texted back surprisingly quickly, as if he had been on his phone already.

Sure, just make sure his mom knows we'll be gone for a few days.

Peter chuckled looking at it. Tony would never admit it, but Pete knew that he was afraid of Ned's mother from the last time Ned had been late getting home. Mrs. Leeds had given him an earful, that's for sure.

Sweet thx

Peter flipped his friend a thumbs up and his BFF squealed in excitement. Mr. Aster looked up, annoyance written across his face, and glared at the pair.

"Mr. Leeds, Mr. Parker, I do not care how fast you finish your tests, you are not allowed to talk to friends until everyone has handed theirs in," the teacher gestured toward a basket. Peter grabbed both of their papers and dropped them off, Mr. Aster nodding in approval.

Ned and Peter had to wait anxiously for a whole hour until the bell rang. When it finally did, the boys were up out of their seats faster then MJ could say bye. Waves of kids drove them through the hallways and out the front doors where Peter waited for Ned to call his mom. A minute into the conversation, Ned's expression dropped.

"But–" he complained. "Mom-"

Peter watched him curiously. Ned nodded and said "okay" a few times before hanging up with a pouty expression.

"I can't go."

Peter's mouth fell open. Ned's mother always let them hang out! "Why not?"

"A family reunion," he grumbled. "Or something stupid like that. Sorry Peter."

"Hey," the web slinger put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure you can come another time."

"Yeah maybe," his expression lightened. "Send me lots of pictures!"

Peter laughed as he heard a honk. Eyes flicking behind him, he noticed Happy sitting behind the wheel of a black Audi. He waved to Ned and yelled a farewell to MJ, who had walked out a few seconds prior with a confused expression. He greeted Happy as usual and the man only grunted in response. As usual. Soon they were on their way to Peter's apartment so that he could grab his suit case, then they would meet the Avengers at Tony's private air field.

Happy pulled up to the curb and told Peter to head upstairs to grab his stuff. The boy complied, taking his key out, assuming his aunt wasn't home from work yet. The door swung open after he unlocked it. His clothes, books and, of course, suit were all in the same case. He pulled his sleeves back to make sure his web shooters were full, for emergencies. He frowned at the bar, showing they were half empty. Had he really spent that much time patrolling the night before? A full web shooter could last him three, maybe four days. Peter shrugged it off and refilled them. He could get plenty of sleep on the jet ride.

His aunt still wasn't home when he walked down the stairs, but he left her a note saying goodbye and I love you/see you in a few days. May knew where he was going and that he was going today, of course, but he just wanted to make sure. Even though she had made him promise to call him about every meal. He threw his backpack into the back seat and placed his suit case in the trunk before hoping in himself. Happy started up the car without a word and they drove off.

With nothing better to do, Peter rambled his ear off, telling his chauffeur everything that had happened within the last week. It was a long ride and Happy thought about crashing the car purposely to get the kid to shut up. But his job was always on the line when it came to Spiderman, so he was trapped.

"Hey Peter," Natasha greeted warmly when they reached the strip. The rest of the team was already boarding, lugging their bags into the open hatch on the side of the expensive looking jet. Dr Banner was trying to walk and read at the same time. Pepper was scolding Tony for doing something or another. Clint had somehow climbed to the top and looked like a pirate scouting for land. Bucky was staring doubtfully at the wings.

"How can they hold up something so big?" He asked Steve as they climbed the ramp.

"It's called 'modern technology,'" Sam answered spicily (a/n Yes I just made up that word. Deal with it.)

Cap shrugged, ignoring the falcon's response. "I've learned not to question it."

Peter squinted in confusion. He's seen SHEILD's tricarriers. Why does this surprise him? The teenager brushed it off. Nat came up, flicking her red hair away from her sunglasses, and side-hugged him. Happy rolled his eyes at the exchange and went to grab Peter's bag from the back. The boy smiled at Nat as she pulled away and studied him, making sure he was in one piece.

"Hey, kid," Rhodey clamped a hand in his shoulder. "Ready to go to the most technologically advanced country in the world?"

"Yes!" Peter cheered as the two Avengers steered him towards the jet ramp.

He hesitated slightly, remembering his last experience at an airport. Captain America had dropped one of these things on him. Of course, they were all past that, but it hadn't been a great first impression. Peter shook it off. King's party, remember? He thought and focused on that. Uh oh. He hoped they weren't required to bring presents for her majesty. Because he had nada. Unless she wanted a textbook on advanced chemistry, he guessed.

"Kid!" Tony grasped at an excuse to get away from Pepper's lecture. "Good, I was about to go and find what was taking you myself."

"S–Sorry we took so long, Mr. Stark," the boy stuttered nervously. He heard Happy snort behind him, but pretended not to notice.

Tony gave him a weird look. How come the kid acted normal around all his other teammates and was still uncomfortable around him? Was he doing something wrong? Maybe he was too hard on him. He furrowed his brows and a small frown appeared on his face as he thought. That made Peter think he had done something wrong.

"I just–We just–had to stop by my apartment to grab my clothes," he started. Tony held up a hand to stop him and gave a lazy smile.

"Relax kid," Tony slid his hand into Peppers when she sided up with him. "I'm not going to kick you out of the jet."

Peter sagged in relief. That would have been disappointing. Pepper smiled and shook her head in disbelief. What was with those boys? She politely greeted the teenager and he hugged her. Soon enough Scott was dragging him to the jet and the couple followed, chuckling at the ant's excitement. He normally wasn't one for science, but he loved the idea of flying cars. It was like in back to the future! Hope was already on the plane, wine glass in hand, magazine open on her lap. Dr. Banner had slipped headphones on and looked
like he was already asleep. Clint had at some point climbed down from his roost and was sitting across from Black Widow. Bucky and Steve were laying against each other, talking about some random shit from their old lives while Wanda and Vision watched a movie on the large flat screen at the front of the nice interior.

"Where's Thor?" Peter asked Tony, slightly disappointed the thunder god wasn't there.

"He said he had business to deal with in New Asgard," Rhodey snorted. "But I just don't think he likes flying in vehicles since he already can."

Tony sighed, settling down beside his best friend in one of the booths. "It must be nice to have the ability to fly."

Pepper lightly punched him in the arm. "You fly every day."

"It's not the same," he complained like a three year old. "No wind on your face, not the feeling you get on a high roller coaster when your stomach drops."

"It's amazing," Peter mumbled. Swinging from building to building gave him that feeling. He thought nobody had heard since there were no comments on it. But Tony had. He looked at Peter's back with sad eyes. Spider-Man may have been a hero with cool powers, but what was the cost?

Peter settled on one of the bing bags in front of the TV in the living area of the jet. There were also couches, which Wanda and Vis were hogging, and plenty of booths, which most of the Avengers were sitting on. The floor was soft enough for him to want to take his shoes off and the walls had fancy designs. Happy got on last, grumbling about something under his breath before knocking (more like banging) on the door to the cockpit. Steve had insisted on old fashioned pilots because, after Ultron, he didn't really trust electronics to run themselves.

They were in the air fifteen minutes later and Peter gradually fell asleep in the middle of Aliens. For the first time in a long time, he slept without nightmares.

Okay, Wakanda is the last fluffy one promise, then I'll do some antsy crap for y'all. Hope you enjoy this until then, web-heads.
