Babies and Bake Sales: 三

(Okay, first of all, I know some of you were asking if there was going to be another part to baby stark, and here it is, but just so y'all know, a short story isn't over unless i specifically put THE END at the bottom. Anyways, continue.

Recap: Peter found a kid's room in the Tower and is starting to get confused after not seeing Pepper for a few months. But, since she apparently just arrived, he's hoping everything will get cleared up...)

"You-you're having a baby?" Peter stared in shock. "That's-That's-"

He really didn't know how to feel about it. But, for Tony's sake...

"That's amazing Pepper! And, Mr. Stark, of course," the teen grinned widely to hide his wince.

The couple let out an audible breath on the couch across from him, hands relaxing in the other's grip.

"I'm so glad you think so, Peter," Pepper smiled at him in relief.

She caught his hand and Peter squeezed it in support. "Why wouldn't I?"

Pepper leaned forward and hugged him awkwardly, her rounded stomach getting in the way. The teen chuckled in amusement as she scowled down at it in annoyance. She rolled her eyes and shook her head as if wondering if it were really worth it to walk around with it for months.

Her teasing grin answered that question pretty well, for Peter at least.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" Peter heard himself ask excitedly, though it was more like he was on autopilot.

"A little man," Tony grinned beneath his sunglasses. "We haven't come up with a name yet, though."

They weren't just having a kid, they were having a son. Well that was just grand. "Wow. Just...wow."

Tony laughed. "That was my reaction!"

Peter's phone buzzed in his suit pocket. He reached around to the zip on his lower back, really understanding why Deadpool wore pouches now. They were so much more convenient.

The teen pulled out his savior. It was an alarm warning him to do his homework, though it was finished. Instead of showing it to the curious duo, he suddenly gasped dramatically.

"Oh my god, I have to go!" Peter webbed his backpack over to him and tossed his Stark Phone inside, and closing it in one movement. "Aunt May texted an emergency!"

Pepper's brows furrowed in worry. "Is she okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, it's just..." Peter fumbled for an excuse. "Um, the bake sale! It's tomorrow and she really needs my help with a...brownie mess. So I got to go! But congratulations! Seriously, this is awesome. Good luck Pepper!"

The he shouldered his backpack and hurriedly opened his usual window. Tony called out in confusion, but he was swinging into the wind before he could hear the billionaire's words.

Pepper stared out the window sadly while Tony was fuming.

"What are you so mad about?" She asked him, putting a calming hand on his forearm.

He humphed and sat next to her from when he had jumped up after the arachnid. "He called you Pepper. Why do I have to be Mr. Stark! Seriously, he calls everyone by their names except for me and-"

His fiance elbowed him in irritation. "Oh my god, Tony, really? Now? He respects you the most, is all."

"No fair." Tony pouted on the cushions with his arms crossed and his bottom lip sticking out.

Pepper ignored him and watched as the red and blue figure disappeared through two buildings. "Maybe we should tell him that he's a really bad liar."

"Yeah, I don't know how he's kept his identity a secret for two years now."

"It's probably hard since his roll model announced his to the world within twenty minutes," Pepper pointed out casually.

Tony didn't deny it. The billionaire instead shrugged. "True."

May Parker sat on the couch in the living room casually, book propped open on her legs, reading glasses sitting on her nose. She sighed and attempted to rub her eyes in exhaustion, only to remember the glass in the way. She only succeeded in smudging up the lenses again.

She groaned in frustration and stood to find the Windex. Yes, that's what she had resorted to. Window cleaner. She didn't have the money to buy any real solution for her new glasses. She hated them. They were such a hassle, plus they made her feel old. But they also let her see slightly better, so she decided to deal with them.

While she dug under the sink to look for the spray bottle, the distinct sound of the living room window sliding open surprised her. Especially who crawled through it.

"I'm home May!" Peter shouted, pulling his mask off and stuffing it in his backpack.

She instantly brightened. "Peter! You're home early then usual."

He nodded distractedly and attempted to trudge off to his room while May hurriedly hid her glasses. She frowned at his somber behavior.

"What's wrong? Did something happen? If it was Tony Stark then I swear I will personally go to that goddamn tower and kick his sorry–"

Peter chuckled grimly, waving her worry away. "It's not him. It's just me."

"What do you mean?" May's eyes drooped. "Oh Peter, don't tell me–"

"It's not that either, I swear!" His eyes widened in realization. "Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like that, it's just..."

He trailed off. May took his hand and sat him on the couch. "You can tell me, kiddo, it'll be fine."

Peter sighed, but nodded. "Well it's just...Tony and Pepper they..."

He hesitated.

"They're having a baby."

May stared at him before slowly grinning ear to ear. "That's great! I'm so happy for them. Oh, wait, why is that...why is that bad?"

Tears suddenly welled up in his eyes. "I don't know. I just feel like my heart got heavier. I should be happy for them! Right? I should be glad, but I just feel...like...like..."

May ignored her confusion to pull the crying boy into a tight embrace. He clutched her like she was an anchor in a thrashing sea of his mixed emotions and buried his head in her shoulder.

Peter hiccuped and mentally cursed himself for breaking down so fast. But May's soothing voice convinced him it was safe to do so. A few minutes later he calmed down, tears drying, though he stayed glued to his her. He finally mumbled quietly into her shoulder.

"Like...like I'm being replaced. I–I don't want to be a second choice anymore Aunt May. I'm sorry. I can't," he gripped the back of her shirt with white knuckles.

She was supposed to be there for him. But how could she help him with this? May Parker's heart broke as she ran a hand through her nephew's curly hair and whispered sweet nothings in his ear.
