o. PETER SAYS THREE WORDS
UNDER THE STARS . . .

The semi-silent humming of the automobile's engine was a lullaby to your ears, sending you into a sleepy state as soon as you left school grounds. All bundled up in your winter jacket and borrowed beanie, your eyelids started to slowly shut from the comfort you were wrapped in.
"I wouldn't sleep now, y/n, we're on the brink of stopping." His voice echoed through your ears. Lifting your head up from the comfortable place on his shoulder, your delicate eyes connected with his. As if on queue, the moving scenery stopped and your class started filing out of the bus doors.
A small groan left your lips, feeling Peter's hand capture yours and practically drag you out before the rowdy last-seaters of the bus trampled the two of you. Attempting to avoid the cold air that was beginning to nip at your nose, you both ran for the entrance doors of the museum.
Thankfully, the door was still open for you to slip right through and into the comforting arms of warmth. New York winters weren't exactly your forte. However, having Peter by your side to keep you company while the snow was descending was quite a plus.
Upon scanning the beautiful artwork aligning the walls, the entirety of your class realized that you had the entire day to scavenge the exhibits. It was more an exciting free-period than a field trip that you would have to reflect on later.
"So, what's first on the agenda?" You asked, slipping off your jacket as you did with the slumber that was once evident in your eyes. Peter's eyes traveled behind you, suggesting that the two of you admire the planetarium and the stars that it had to offer.
Turning back to him, a wide smile spread on your face. Quite recently, your science class had been studying the stars, planets, and constellations. It was absolutely intriguing to you, and it seemed as if looking at the sky was the perfect thing to do on a cold winters day.
Although it was only a half-hour show, something about admiring the twinkling lights with the person you loved warmed your entire heart.
Peter intertwined his fingers with yours again, attempting to pull out his wallet from his back pocket one-handedly. Almost immediately, you stopped him.
"I can pay for mine," You began digging through your jacket's pocket, searching for your own wallet before Peter could get the chance to hand over his money to the graceful older woman at the ticket booth. However, you were too late; he was already getting his change and handing you your own keepsake ticket.
"It's on me, sweetheart," He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead as the two of you made your way to a pair of nearby seats.
Peter was always a complete heart-melter to and for you. Anytime you were ill, he was there with a bag of your favourite sweets and snacks. If you weren't in the right mindset, he would cancel all his plans to make sure that you knew that you were loved. The simple things like that brought you to entirely fall in love with him.
You were dragged out of your rather sentimental thoughts when Peter wrapped an arm around your shoulder, waiting for the lights to turn down and the stars to illuminate above the two of you.
Placing your head on his shoulder, a small sigh left your lips. As soon as Peter was about to speak, the lights dimmed down low, the little specks of light illuminating slowly.
It was absolutely breathtaking; the way the constellations appeared and reflected in your eyes. Although it was entirely beautiful, there was no way that it compared to the night that Peter brought you up to the top of your apartment building.
That was the night that he revealed his life-changing secret to you. At first, Peter believed that you would be furious with him and how long you've kept your secret. However, it was anything other than that.
Your eyes searched over every bit of surface area, looking for any stars that you hadn't seen yet. While you were doing so, Peter's eyes were locked on you. "These stars are simply breathtaking." You trailed off.
Peter's fingers curled underneath your chin, adverting your attention to him for a split second. "They don't compare. the beauty that they possess will never compare to yours."
A small smile tugged at your lips, wondering how he had gotten so delicate in the course of ten minutes. Despite the question, you didn't mind the soft and delicate side of Peter—well, more of it, considering that was his everyday trait.
Your thoughts swirled around, contemplating if you should speak your mind right then and there; underneath the abundance of stars.
"I love you."
It was a coincidence, really. His lips spoke the same words that you did, and the two of you were equally surprised at your surprise confessions.
You both laughed, adrenaline still buzzing through your veins. "You know, I actually really like the poetic side of Peter Parker."
