Chapter 17

[ New York ]

The entire room froze—listening to what Osborn had to say.

Judge Batzer was standing up, ready to be escorted out of the court room. The crowd were backing to the sides, trying to not get the attention of the armed men. Even the police were afraid to act, not knowing whether to act or not.

—They got their answer soon after.

"Tsk, tsk." Osborn warned the guards, grabbing a bomb out of his waist. "You don't want some ammonium nitrate in the air, hm?"

Instead, the police kept their weapons at him. Osborn wasn't scared, knowing that he had full control of the situation. Slowly, he was approaching the main suspect of the case—Peter Parker.

Peter (Tom) was still standing near his table alongside Karen Page. Murdock had moved towards their table, nagging at Karen's shoulder.

"I need you to get out of here." Murdock whispered, looking over the table. "Do you have a scarf?"

"Don't tell me you're thinking what I'm thinking." Karen annoying spoke Murdock's thought. His expression did not change. "Matt, we talked about this." She talked softly; even quieter than the murmurs in the room.

"We can't avoid it in a situation like th—"

"—We. Can." She stated, keeping him near the table.

Osborn scanned the front—his target now in his sights. Judge Batzer was leaving her seat, until she was called by the madman himself.

"Ms. Batzer!" Osborn called in a maniacal and insane voice. "What is your ruling?" He activated his bomb, now beeping. The crowd gasped in shock and now screamed for their lives. "Guilty? Or not guilty?"

—In a turn of events, Osborn threw the bomb.

As it flew mid-air, Peter (Tom) jumped to it and knocked it to the wall, creating a large explosion. The wall crumbled—an opening now present outside. This was the moment everyone had been waiting for. The crowd dispersed into the exits while the police opened fire. His armour was impenetrable. The bullets were breaking as soon as they hit the armour.

Judge Batzer was quickly escorted out of the court room, along with the jury and the attendees. Through the crowd, Peter (Tom) peeped MJ's and May's head leaving, as they glanced at him being left behind. They couldn't do anything as they were ferociously shoved out of the room.

"GO!" Murdock told Karen, signalling her to the exit. "TAKE HER!"

Karen did as he said, without saying anything. What she didn't know was that Murdock pulled the scarf on her neck, only noticing it as she was near the exit.

"MATT—!" Her faint scream disappeared as she was pushed by the police to get away.

Essentially, it was only Peter (Tom), Osborn, and a bunch of cops in the room. The cops were keeping their eyes on both targets, making sure none of them escape. After continuous fire, they stopped to reload.

—This gave Osborn the room.

"Ooh..." Osborn chuckled, "Cavalry's here!"

Octavius and the Sand-man entered the building through the hole Osborn made earlier. They hovered over Peter (Tom), looking at the defenceless and armour-less boy.

"Good to see you again, Peter!" Octavius exclaimed, snapping his tentacles at him.

"WHICH ONE, THOUGH!"

—Out of nowhere, Spider-Man (Andrew) came out of the doors and tackled Octavius outside.

"—Argh! Dammit!" Osborn's glider flew to him and hoped on, following the chase between Spider-Man (Andrew) and Octavius.

Left in the room was Marko, who had garnered the attention of the cops. Peter (Tom) had to step back, assessing the situation around him. He had noticed that this time, the Sand-man had full intention to kill.

The Sand-man was taking in every bullet, not feeling a fraction of pain. His hands turned into large hammers, swinging at the cops. Peter (Tom) kicked a chair that dropped a cop to the floor, barely missing the edge of the hammer. He sensed a cop on the ground who had been knocked and was about to get hit by the hammer head on. Peter (Tom) saw two cups of coffee and smashed it on a table. He slid the table over to the cop and the hammer went through it easily.

—However, the impact was soft. The coffee softened his particles, rendering no effect on Marko. He looked at Peter (Tom) with built-up frustration.

"Parker! You little shi—" Before he could continue, a web covered his mouth.

"Language there, Marko!" Spider-Man (Tobey) reminded, entering the courtroom's door.

"It's Spider-Man!" The cops shouted, as they unloaded their freshly-chambered weapons at him.

"Wa—Woah!" Peter (Tobey) dodged the bullets with ease. He stood up, expressing sarcastic concern. "Really?"

Suddenly, a bolt of electricity sent Peter (Tobey) to the wall. Forming out of pure energy, Electro materialised in front of them. Instead of the guards shooting at him, they turned their heads to Peter (Tom)—eyes filled with black.

"Beck..." Peter (Tom) glanced at his back, seeing the floating Mysterio's hands glowing green.

"Kill them." Beck bluntly told, as the guards heeded his order.

Peter (Tobey), recovering from the side, pulled Peter (Tom) towards him. All the cops missed as he was taking to the side covered with tables.

As they continued firing, Peter (Tom) looked to Peter (Tobey). "If that electric dude keeps on charging up using the building's electricty—"

"He'll cause another blackout." Peter (Tobey) finished his sentence and groaned. "I'll take him for a swing while you clean up the house, got it?"

He nodded, "You got any web sh—?"

Before Peter (Tom) could say anything, Spider-Man (Tobey) had already made a move on Electro. With such pure strength, he pulled him to Electro and threw him out of the building. Seeing this, Mysterio hovered to the exit.

"Handle the original one, Marko. None of you can handle the Spider by yourselves." Beck frustratingly followed Peter (Tobey) and Electro outside.

To his dismay, the guards hadn't snapped out of their spell. Peter (Tom) decided to fight off the big sell first—the Sand-man.

As Marko was taking in the environment, Peter (Tom) jumped to him and delivered a clothesline. Once both of them recovered, they stood in front of one another. It was now going to be a battle between the Sand-man and suit-less Peter Parker (Tom).

Marko tried to take him out right away, enlarging his hands to create force. Using his physic to his advantage, Peter (Tom) dodged the attacks by doing a series of flips and summersaults. Marko was getting irritated, not being able to get a hit on him.

When Marko was looking the other way, Peter (Tom) got a clean jab at his face, needing to recover. Before Peter (Tom) could get another shot in, the guards unloaded bullets at him. As they both took cover to avoid the bullets, Peter (Tom) realized how bad of a situation he was in.

"Crap," Peter (Tom) muttered. He didn't have E.D.I.T.H. or the suit, so he was going to have to take this the old-fashioned way.

The cops ran out of the bullets, opening another opportunity for him. Peter (Tom) attacked a still-recovering Marko. He took out all the punches, kicks, uppercuts, and jabs he had in his arsenal. He did it efficiently and quickly, not wasting a single ounce of his energy.

After some time, Marko twisted and side-swiped Peter (Tom) to the wall using a sand hammer. He fell to the floor, feeling an intense pain to his side. While trying to recover, something slimy wrapped around his leg.

It then dragged him over the floor, launching him to a table and breaking it in the process.

"You're what's left?" The Lizard asked Marko, who just nodded. "So much for a plan."

"Stop!" Marko ordered the cops who had finished loading their weapons.

Peter (Tom) was struggling to stand up, seeing the wretched figure of the Lizard walk up to him.

"Parker." The Lizard called, wrapping his tail around his neck and raised him to his level. "You..."

A long punch went across the face of the Lizard, making him drop Peter (Tom). Before Marko could react, a cane was tossed right between his eyes—sand exploding everywhere.

Peter (Tom) looked to his saviour who lent him a hand.

"You should get out of here." The man said with a deep tone. "You can't handle them without the suit."

"I—I would say the same for you too, sir." Peter (Tom) commented, taking in his full appearance. "Holy crap... you're that dude on the news!"

"Forget you ever saw me." He completely ignored his statement, readying his fist for the Sand-man that had just stood up.

"We—well, I'm not forgetful so—"

Peter (Tom) then dodged debris that was thrown by Marko with ease. Peter (Tom) and the Blind Ninja—as Peter (Tom) now referred to his newly-formed ally—prepared for a brawl with the Lizard and Sand-man.

Peter (Tom) took on the Sand-man while the Blind Ninja went for the Lizard. The cops were on standby—seemingly forgotten by the two villains. Peter (Tom) threw down on the Sand-man, trying to get him to move his feet quickly. The Blind Ninja's strength surprised the Lizard, being able to make him feel something through his thick skin.

The Lizard managed to grab the Blind Ninja by his side, throwing him at Peter (Tom). They both fell to the floor, which gave Marko an advantage and a chance to take them both out. He formed a large wrecking ball, raising to the air.

Seeing this, the Blind Ninja kicked him on the shin, dropping him. He fell on his back—the wrecking ball still in play. The Blind Ninja got up and swung it to the direction of the Lizard, making him take a knee. Peter (Tom) ran at the Lizard and took him out with a kick in the head. The Lizard had fell to the ground, feeling the effects of such a powerful kick.

"You and I make a good team, huh?" Peter (Tom) remarked at his companion.

"I don't do well with teams." The Blind Ninja bluntly said, wiping the sweat of his beard. "You might want to get out of here. Trial's probably over for the day."

"Yeah, but—" Peter (Tom) stopped when he was unable to move his legs.

They both turned around—and much to their chagrin, Marko had stuck them to the ground with sand. It was tightening sand, trapping them. With his brute power, all Peter (Tom) had to do was jump to break free.

—What he didn't know was that the Lizard was just waiting there, grabbing him mid-air.

With a swift punch, the Lizard knocked Peter (Tom) out. Knowing he had withering time, the Blind Ninja took a chair nearby and smashed it on Marko. He stopped the trap, enabling him to attack the Lizard. However, the reptilian was prepared.

—Another punch, another knockout.

Or in other words, the Blind Ninja was sent sliding through the doors of the trial room, ending up in the hallway. The doors swung close, blocking the view of the trial room.

Taking a minute to get a hang of the situation, the Blind Ninja felt as if the punch dislocated his ribs. Listening to the structure of his bones, it wasn't the case—a fact that he was thankful of. However, it was going to take a little longer to heal compared to the others.

He stood up, stumbling his way into the trial room. When he entered, the three main people were gone. Only the guards—who had fallen unconscious on the floor—were remaining in the room. Peaking through the large hole on the roof, he knew his job was done; there was nothing more he could do.

If the police manage to get Peter (Tom), he would undoubtedly taken in without trial. He was being too dangerous of a suspect to even hold a case for. Whatever was next, it was up to him.

Hearing that there was no one else in the building, the Blind Ninja took the scarf of his head. Murdock sighed, taking in the fresh air from the hole in the wall. His help could only go so far; to be more accurate, it was only up to here.

"It's in your hands now, Parker." Murdock mumbled.
