Chapter 13
[ New York ]
Peter hid behind a car, as Octavius and Spider-Man began duelling in the middle of the highway. It was like an identical copy of him was going against Octavius. He had thought it was one of the E.D.I.T.H. drones, but the A.I. said it wasn't. He couldn't even scan who it was.
For the highway, it was still in immense chaos. There were people who were still trying to escape the terror. The police were nowhere to be seen. It was only up to Peter and Spider-Man to stop what was happening before any innocent lives are caught in the crossfire.
"E.D.I.T.H, update on the suit?!" Peter asked, dodging the multiple cars that were being used by the two fighters.
"Two minutes out, Peter."
Detective Moss had gotten out of her car, standing right in front of Peter. She grabbed him and made him crouch, avoiding the crossfire between Octavius and Spider-Man.
"PARKER! YOU HAVE TO TELL ME WHO THE HELL IS THAT!" She pointed at Spider-Man who had caught a bus from falling off the highway. "WHAT TECH IS THAT?!"
"THA—THAT'S NOT ME!"

The sound of thrusters being activated ringed through Peter's ears. They were coming from the sky at the speed of a jet. It was too quick to calculate where they were. However, the smell of shrapnel entered his nose. This was something that he had smelt before.
—When he realized what it was, his instincts kicked in.
"WATCH OUT!" Peter tackled Detective Moss to the side.
"PARKE—?!"
Detective Moss looked rather petrified at the scene. Peter stood up, making sure that the area was clear. Looking to the sky, the sound of maniacal laughter echoed throughout. It could've only been one person—Osborn.
He looked to Moss, who was still trying to take in the scene. "Ma'am, I need you to take these civilians to the exit before this. If you don't, they'll be caught in the crossfire."
"I can't..." She grunted, trying to stand. "Let you out of my sight, Parker."
"Innocent people are going to die, Detective. This is your job, right?"
She gave him a face of annoyance. After thinking it over, she sighed. "Don't you dare run."
"I won't!" He ushered her to gather the civilians away from the fight.
She displayed her natural communication skills and guiding the stranded civilians away. There were still explosions and fires occurring, which made it even more dangerous to stay.

—It came before he could even react. A three-thousand pound car came flying at him.
He expected to be hit by it, but the only thing that came next was the struggle of a man in front of him. They had caught the car before it even hit him.
—It was Spider-Man.
He dropped the car safely to the side. The hero then turned around to him and placed his hands on Peter's shoulders.
"There 'ya go! You good, you alright?" Spider-Man asked, shooting a web to the glasses on the floor. "You dropped these!"
"Ah—oh, thanks." Peter nodded nervously, seeing Octavius recovering from the corner of his eyes.
""What's your name?" The hero sticked his hand out in front of him. "Lick that!"
"Uh, um... Peter..." He blurted as Spider-Man began combing his hair.
"Great name! Peter, that's a great name!" Spider-Man complimented. "You 'goin on a date? Sounds like you're going to go on a date. Don't get pressured, just be you! Be a somebody!"
Spider-Man then rushed back, attacking Octavius before he could cause any more trouble. Peter stepped back, looking to get a better angle on the fight.
Seeing Osborn still flying overhead, he knew he had to do something. In the distance, there was a rocket-like vessel that was heading towards the bridge. He knew this was his chance to make an impact.
Predictably, Osborn threw bombs onto the highway to create more mayhem. There was a bomb that dropped near Peter, which had just started its timer. With momentum, Peter grabbed the bomb and tracked Osborn down. He was almost out of sight, preparing for another bombing run from the other side. Peter threw the bomb in his tracks, making him dodge the explosion.
"E.D.I.T.H, SWERVE IT!" Peter commanded.
The suit's vessel turned heavily, knocking Osborn from his glider and into the river. Following the suit's new path, Peter began running to the Octavius and Spider-Man fight.
"Be somebody, be somebody, be somebody..." Peter repeated, getting on top of a car.
"HEY, GET OUT OF HERE, MAN!" Spider-Man shouted as he got knocked away from one of Octavius' tentacles.
"EIGHT LIMBS! OVER HERE!" Peter mocked, now standing on top of the car. "PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN KIND!"
As Spider-Man (Andrew) looked to Peter (Tom), he audibly gasped. "WHAT THE—?!"
Peter (Tom) rushed over to Octavius, shooting a barrage of web bombs. His tentacles were not able to catch up, catching his upper tentacles tangled. The Spider-Man (Tom) then tied the upper tentacles together and jumped over him, slamming his back on the concrete road.
Spider-Man (Andrew) followed it up by webbing his hands. However, his lower tentacles were still free. He placed his tentacles at the back of two cars and flipped it, causing Spider-Man (Andrew) to dodge it. Taking advantage of the distraction, one of Octavius' tentacles managed to sweep Peter (Tom) off the ground.
By removing just one web, Octavius managed to stand. Now in-between two Spider-Men, he was only able to chuckle.
"The Multiverse is one hell of a thing; am I right, boys?" Octavius uttered, preparing his stance.
Peter (Tom) nodded to Spider-Man (Andrew), signalling they were on the same side. Now was the time to strike.
Peter (Tom) jumped over Octavius, webbing two corner tentacles and throwing him off-balanced. Spider-Man (Andrew) slid under him—kicking his lower tentacles which caused him to stand on his two human legs.
However, Octavius still grabbed Peter (Tom) by his back and threw him behind, trying to get his bearing.
The two Spider-Men were now side-by-side. Spider-Man (Andrew) caught his breath, pointing at Peter's (Tom) suit.
"That's some heavy cosplay, man." He (Andrew) noted, standing up. "Those made of titanium?"
"Oh, it's made of nanotech." Peter (Tom) answered, glancing at Octavius now grabbing an entire bus. "You might 'wanna get ready."
"I think you're the one who needs to." Peter (Andrew) snarked back, getting into position.
"What the hel—" Peter (Andrew) stopped when he heard the whiff of wind made by the flying bus.
Peter (Tom) rushed over to the bus, catching it mid-air with two hands and four Spider-legs. Peter (Andrew) helped him carry it, taking the other side of the bus.
"Hold it for me! I'll take him!" Peter (Tom) told his counterpart, letting go and swinging off the bus.
"WHAT? YOU'RE THE ONE WITH THE EXTRA SPIDER ARMS!" Peter (Andrew) argued, bending his back further to carry the massive load.
Octavius sent his two tentacles at him, as Peter (Tom) barely dodged both of it. He got close enough to him that he began launching punches. Octavius tried to attack him with his top tentacles, but Peter (Tom) deflected with his own Spider-legs.
"YOU INSECT!" Octavius shouted, exerting his full force onto Peter (Tom).
Octavius bashed his lower tentacles on the ground, causing the ground to shake. Peter (Tom) got off-balanced, allowing Octavius to catch him. He lowered himself to the ground and allowed his tentacles to begin removing his Spider-legs.
He turned Peter (Tom) around, and raised him up with his upper tentacles. His lower tentacles started to meddle with the schematics of the suit.
"Impressive suit, Parker." He noted, trying to separate the legs from the suit. "Enough to win the Nobel prize!"
As Octavius raised him even higher, Peter (Tom) began to flail. "E.D.I.T.H... increase the air pressure in the suit!"
"Increasing air pressure to 500%."
Peter (Tom) gasped, feeling the effects of the command. As Octavius laughed at the sight of torturing Peter (Tom), he knew it was time.
"EJECT THE PARACHUTE!"
—And so, a large parachute opened in the face of Octavius.
Peter (Tom) dropped to the ground, facing back at Octavius. The eight-limbed man became furious, hurrying to the web-slinger. He then felt an opposing force in his upper tentacles—feeling as if he was being held back.
Peter (Andrew) shot two webs at his upper tentacles and began pulling back with all his strength. He had a strong opposing forces, stopping Octavius from moving any further. Before Octavius could push himself towards Peter (Andrew), the other Peter (Tom) had other ideas. He shot two webs at the same tentacles and began pulling himself.
"HOLD IT!" Peter (Andrew) signalled, groaning as the pain soared in his back.
"E.D.I.T.H, SWITCH TO WEB BOMBS!" Peter (Tom) directed, as the webbing had fallen to his lower tentacles.
"NO!" Octavius wailed, not being able to move. "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!"
"C'MON, REPRESENT!" Peter (Andrew) brought up, trying to separate the tentacles even more. "ARE YOU PULLING?!"
Peter's (Tom) feet were slipping, dragging on the pavement. "LEGS, LEGS, LEGS!"
The Spider-legs extended, anchoring to the road.
Octavius had nowhere to go. There were two Spider-Men pulling away at him, stunning his movement. He was about to fail at the very task he was given to. To others, it may have been overwhelming; to him, it was failure.
—A timer began ringing.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" A laughter pulsed through the sky.
—A bomb dropped to the side of Peter (Tom)
"—AHHHHHH!" Peter (Tom) wasn't able to recover, suffering the consequences of the explosion.
The Spider-Man (Tom) fell off the bridge and into the water below. Peter (Andrew) lost balance and fell to the floor, being swept promptly off the bridge independently by one of Octavius' tentacles.
As Octavius recovered, Osborn landed near the side and peeked over the ledge. The two Spider-Men were nowhere to be seen. Rustling in frustration, he went over to Octavius.
"Now there's two of them."
"You think I just noticed?" Octavius angrily answered, dusting his trench coat off. "It must be another version of him."
"Imagine if they multiplied!" Osborn suggested.
"Then it calls for plans to be rescheduled. We need the source for energy quicker." He looked at him with mutual intent. "The plan moves to tonight; albeit some tweaking."
"Agreed..." Osborn peered into the distance, as the sound of sirens could be heard. "Tonight, we enter the world of Peter Parker. Tonight, we raise hell..."
...
Washing away quite far from the scene, the two Spider-Men had managed to hide under the Williamsburg Bridge. Helicopters were scouting the whole of New York, looking for one of the most highly-pursued criminals in the 21st Century. There were even talks of people on the bridge that there's the possibility of the island closing idea.
This was turning into a dangerous situation. The odds of the people that Peter (Tom) knew being searched was a guarantee. No one was going to be safe—but he had to continue to hide. Revealing his position will only attract the villains. It was the last thing he wanted.
As Peter (Tom) continued to ponder, Peter (Andrew) looked at him weirdly. They were now staring at one another in an awkward way, realizing the situation they were in.
"Okay," Peter (Andrew) began, as they hung upside down under the bridge. "This is obviously not my world."
"It's actually universe."
"Oh!" His mouth gestured the revelation. "It's that big..."
"Yeah..."
"And this universe's cosplay is top notch?"
Peter (Tom) retracted his mask, revealing his face. "I'm Peter Parker... and I think we have a mutual friend."
"Friend? Look, kid, I appreciate the commitment, but this is for experts. I mean, you copied the name!"
"I'm not joking!" Peter (Tom) explained, "I am Peter Parker. And you're Peter Parker, and we're from different universes!"
"C'mon," Peter (Andrew) brushed it off. "Alright then, how about a pop quiz."
"Bring it," Peter (Tom) said very confidently.
"Where do I live?"
"Forest Hills, Queens."
"What's my IQ?"
"248... eh, it was more of a 250."
"Religion?"
"Jewish."
"Favourite colour?"
"Red..."
"Red?"
"Blue, yellow, and green."
"Holy shi—..."
"Really, I got you there?"
Peter (Andrew) sighed, taking off his mask. "Fine, I guess there are two of us. I am Peter Parker; and you have a lot of explaining to do."
