Lightning shuffled into the kitchen quickly and Doc looked up questioningly. he was still wearing the same clothes he had been wearing the night before.

"what are you doing? I thought you were getting a shower." Doc said confused.

"decided not to." Lightning said quickly.

"well you need one." Doc said. Lightning huffed slightly.

"as long as that thing is in the bathtub, I will never shower again." Lightning said. Doc looked even more confused.

"what thing? there wasn't anything in there earlier when I showered." Doc said.

"well there is now and I'm not showering." Lightning mumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. Doc rolled his eyes and stood, heading for the bathroom. Lightning followed behind him, but kept his distance nervously.

"alright kid, I don't see anything in here." Doc said looking around.

"its behind the curtain." Lightning mumbled. Doc raised an eye brow, sometimes having a younger boyfriend was so taxing, but he loved the younger and was willing to put up with it. Doc leaned forward and moved the curtain.

"holy shit!" Doc hissed, jumping back and putting his arm out in front of Lightning, heart pouding from the jump scare of a life time.

"see! see! there's a demon in the shower!" Lightning shouted. Doc let out an annoyed breath, he hadn't actually expected to find anything, so the huge Huntsman spider raring up at him when he moved the curtain, had scared the fuck out of him. he huffed and gave Lightning an annoyed look.

"really?" Doc ask, looking from him to the tub.

"what?" Lightning ask.

"its a spider Monty." Doc said.

"a huge fucking spider that looks ready to attack if you get too close!" Lightning defended, pouting.

"its a Huntsman spider. they're none aggressive unless you mess with their nests." Doc said.

"its huge and its a spider and I'm not getting a shower." Lightning glared. Doc sighed and looked back at the spider. it was a pretty big spider and it was acting oddly aggressive, but the kid was being ridiculous.

"you have a fear of spiders." Doc muttered. Lightning pouted. it was true though, he had a chronic fear of spiders, didn't matter how big or little or even if they were dangerous or not. he was terrified of spiders, not that he would admit that to Doc.

"I do not." he mumbled. Doc raised an eyebrow and gently nudged the younger towards it.

"then take care of it, I'm going back to my breakfast." Doc said. Lightning latched onto him and held tightly.

"no! I'm not getting near that thing!" Lightning yelped.

"its just a spider." Doc said.

"yeah and you're older, you deal with it." Lightning said, stepping back behind Doc. he peeked around the bigger man to stare at the tub. Doc rolled his eyes.

"geez kid, you're killing me." Doc said, shaking his head. he gently pushed the younger out of the bathroom. "I can't believe you would drive head on into a six car pile up on the track, but can't deal with a spider." Doc muttered. Lightning huffed and sat on the bed, face bright red and arms crossed over his chest.

"thats completely different." Lightning mumbled. Doc headed out of the room and came back with a bowl, intent on catching the damn thing. Lightning watched him and pulled back some, to keep out of the spiders way.

"its just a spider Monty, its not even poisonous, and you're on the bed, calm down." Doc muttered.

"its fucking huge Doc." Lightning argued. Doc rolled his eyes and headed into the bathroom. he inched forward, trying to keep the spider in one place. Lightning watched the bathroom. "d-did you get it?" Lightning ask. Doc stepped out of the bathroom.

"yeah I got it." he muttered, heading for the door. Lightning scooted away from him on the bed and Doc smirked to himself. he paused, turned around quickly, and shoved the bowl towards Lightning. "boo!" Doc grinned. Lightning screamed and jerked back, yelping as he fell backwards off the bed. Doc snorted. "relax kid, its in the bowl." Doc chuckled. Lightning huffed, sitting up off the floor and glaring at Doc, his face a dark red.

"you're an asshole." Lightning glared, getting up out of the floor. "that wasn't funny." Lightning mumbled. Doc laughed and carried the spider out of the room, intent on leaving it outside.

"you love me." Doc mutters. Lightning grumbled and headed for a shower. he muttered and climbed into the shower, before screaming and jumping out. Doc rolled his eye's poking his head in. "what now?" Doc snapped. Lightning crawled backwards pointing at the tub, reaching up and grabbing his towel to at least cover himself. Doc frowned and leaned over the tub. "oh fuck that." Doc muttered. it was another huntsman spider and a nest of baby spiders, way to many for him to deal with when his only weapon at the moment was a few bottles of shampoo. he stepped back. "this is your fault." Doc muttered.

"my fault!? you're the one who managed to shower around these things!" Lightning shouted. he scrambled up off the floor, grabbing his clothes. "MACK!" Lightning shouted, jumping onto the bed.

"what the fuck? why are you shouting for Mack?" Doc ask backing up. "I'll just call an exterminator." Doc said, shutting the bathroom door behind them.

"because Mack doesn't need an exterminator. Mack will kill them himself." Lightning glared, getting dressed. "and I'm not staying in the house until they're gone." Lightning added. Doc huffed, grabbing his shoe's. Lightning didn't even bother, grabbing his cell phone and running from the bedroom.

"they're just spiders Monty." Doc said, following after him.

"they're demon creatures!" Lightning hissed, opening the front door and running straight into Mack. Red was standing behind him confused. Mack caught Lightning and looked confused.

"whats going on? we could hear you screaming from Reds garden." Mack said confused.

"go look in the bath tub!" Lightning shouted, pointing him towards his and Docs room. Mack looked confused, but stepped into the house.

"may I?" Mack ask sounding confused.

"be my guest. I'm calling an exterminator." Doc said. Mack raised an eye brow and headed into the bedroom. Doc walked into the kitchen to make a call while Red looked at Lightning.

"are you okay?" Red ask. Lightning shook his head no quickly.

"absolutely fucking not! there's a spider. there's a huge fucking spider in the bath tub and it had babies and it's whole fucking family is in there!" Lightning shouted. Red gave a small smile.

"you can use my shower." Red said, nodding towards his house. "and borrow some of Macks clothes." Red added. Lightning followed him.

"better be spider free." Lightning mumbled. Red nods at him.

"Mack just got out." Red assured.

"that means nothing to me! there was three hours between me and Doc getting a shower and those fuckers moved in." Lightning said.

"I can double check for you." Red chuckled. Lightning huffed, arms crossed over his chest, he glared back towards Docs house. it didn't take long for Mack to catch up to them, shaking his head.

"nope. nuh-uh. that is some bull shit. that is a whole nest of spiders and a whole lot of nope." Mack said.

"Doc already took one of them out." Lightning shuttered. Mack nodded slightly.

"thats fine. Docs calling an exterminator, he's been advised to not stay in the house until after they're done. he's going to go stay with Sheriff." Mack said.

"you can stay with us. spare room is always open for you." Red smiled. Lightning nodded and followed them to the house. it was like having a set of gay older brothers that were more like dads ever since the two started dating. as a matter of fact, Mack had made it abundantly clear one of the things he liked about Red, was that he was willing to fight someone to keep Lightning safe.

"thank you." Lightning grumbled. once inside, and the shower was checked, Lightning finally took his shower.

he came out grumbling and drying his hair. he sighed and smiled at Red.

"thanks Red." Lightning said. Red smiled at him.

"Flos?" Red ask.

"sure." Lightning smiled. Red nodded for him to follow, before pausing to turn back to him. "what?" Lightning ask. Red looked him over in Macks clothes and frowned. he crouched down and grabbed the strings on the shorts he was wearing. he pulled them tightly and tied them. "uh thanks." Lightnings said as Red stood. he smiled and headed for the door. Lightning followed.

"Macks already at Flos. he was hungry." Red murmured. Lightning nodded.

"sorry I held you back from breakfast." Lightning said. Red shrugged rolling his eyes. he was silent like normal as they walked to Flos. he opened the door for Lightning, before following him in. Doc was sitting with Mack, clearly waiting for Lightning. Mack grinned and scooted over in the booth for Red. Lightning sat beside Doc, shooting him a dirty look.

"don't worry. they'll have the spiders cleaned out by tonight." Doc assured.

"I'm not going back in there with those things there." Lightning mumbled. Doc chuckled and patted his leg.

"you don't have to. I'm getting rid of the spiders. it's fine." Doc assured. Lightning smacked his hand off. Doc looked confused.

"don't touch me. I'm mad at you." Lightning huffed.

"what? why?" Doc ask. Lightning glared at him. "what? is this because I scared you?" Doc ask. Lightning glared at him more. "oh come on kid it was a prank." Doc said.

"he doesn't do pranks that include spiders." Mack muttered. Lightning glared at him. "I did a stupid prank a few years ago and it took him two weeks to talk to me again." Mack said, chuckling. Lightning huffed at him.

"okay fine, I get it, no spiders." Doc mumbled. Lightning huffed and grabbed his drink when Flo sat it in front of him. "stop pouting." Doc mumbled. Lightning glared at him.

"you're cool to stick with us until the house gets cleaned up." Red offered. Lightning looked over.

"thanks." he smiled.

"you're mad enough at me that you're not going to race with me?" Doc ask, raising an eye brow.

"unless you're magically going to pull my keys out of your ass, no, because they're still in the house." Lightning said. Doc pushed him out of the booth and dragged him outside, shaking his head. "hey! let me go!" Lightning glared. Doc rolled his eye's and pulled him towards the garage, where both of their cars were parked.

"stand right here." Doc grumbled. he went inside to get their keys. when he came back out, Lightning was sitting on the roof of the 95. "what the hell are you doing up there?" Doc ask.

"I want out of this house. those things are everywhere." Lightning said, trying to be firm, but his voice was shaky. Doc looked confused.

"where is it?" Doc ask looking around. Lightning pointed to where he'd previously been standing. Doc looked around a moment, before crouching down to look under the 95. there was a small Desert Tarantula, probably a baby. he glanced up at Lightning, who was hugging his knees and refusing to climb down. "oh lord kid." Doc mumbled.

"its huge and its hairy and I don't like it." Lightning mumbled. Doc blinked at the spider and raised an eye brow.

"its a Desert Tarantula. very common here in Radiator Springs." Doc said.

"comon or not, I don't give a fuck!" Lightning glared. Doc shook his head and stomped on the spider, squishing it into the ground, twisting his boot in the dirt to ensure it was dead.

"there its dead. now get down from there." Doc said, reaching up to pull him down. Lightning scooted off the edge, letting Doc help him down. while Doc had him trapped, he leaned forward gently. "look, I'm sorry I scared you with the spider earlier." Doc murmured. Lightning pouted at him.

"it was an asshole move." Lightning mumbled. Doc smiled slightly.

"I didn't realize how bad your fear of spiders was and I'm sorry." Doc murmured, kissing him gently. Lightning kissed back and smiled at him.

"just don't do it again." Lightning muttered. Doc smiled and stepped back, hanging him the keys to his car.

"deal." he murmured, ruffling his hair gently. Lightning smiled and took his keys, he couldn't stay mad at Doc, even if he was still a little upset. "lets go for a race. they should be done getting rid of the family living in my bathtub by then." Doc said, turning to head towards his car. Lightning was quick, deciding he wasn't entirely done with Doc, and grabbed his belt loop, pulling him back over to kiss him. Doc was shocked and didn't have a second to respond because Lightning had pushed him away and was climbing into the 95. Doc smiled and climbed into his own car, opening the garage door. as soon as it was opened enough, Lightning peeled out in reverse and spun around, flinging up dirt.

"keep up old man." Lightning called, tearing down the road towards the Butte. he saw Sheriff frowned at the younger, before chuckling and doing the exact same as his young lover, flying down the road after him.
