CHAPTER ONE: THE QUEST
Spellhealer walked to his twin, panting.
"Spellbreaker, where is Mother?" He asked.
"Where do you think, fool? The throne room, perhaps?" Spellbreaker's harsh words echoed in the large room.
"She's not there. I checked just now and-"
"So what? She is not there. She's probably in her chambers or talking to the captain of the royal guard."
"Let me check." He ran out of the room and went outside. There, stood the tall queen, yelling orders at the captain.
"Mother, may I ask you something?" Spellhealer said. Queen Illusion turned around, almost whacking the captain with her giant wings.
"My prince, do ask," She spoke.
"Where's Father?" He asked.
"Your father is on his way to the Dragon Kingdom. To do business with them, of course." Spellhealer nodded in understanding.
"May I join him?"
"Are you crazy?"
"Why would it be crazy? You did say father is just doing business." Queen Illusion rested her wing on her son's back.
"It's not safe to go alone."
"I won't be alone, I'll have Spellbreaker with me." Spellbreaker teleported so he was next to Spellhealer.
"Were you talking about me?"
"Yes. You and I can defeat those mean dragons! Can we? Please, momma?" Spellhealer gave his mother puppy eyes, and Queen Illusion rolled her eyes.
"I suppose... just have a knight with you." The twins cheered.
"Thank you, momma! Sir Shyto, come with us!" the knight nodded and walked up to the two princes.
"I have a route planned out for the three of us, so we could you that. Planned out by Captain Stormy Seas," Shyto mentioned.
"That should help us," Spellbreaker said, and went to his chambers.
"Berry Tree, please pack a good amount of supplies. I'm going to the Dragon Kingdom with my idiotic brother and Sir Shyto." Berry Tree, Spellbreaker's maid, nodded nervously, and started packing.
"Starry Sky, hello! I'm heading to the Dragon Lands with my lovely brother and Sir Shyto! Could you please help me pack?" Spellhealer asked his maid, who grinned and nodded, even making small talk.
"Don't get hurt, Prince!" She wished him.
"I won't, I promise." Spellhealer and Spellbreaker both walked out of their rooms, bags hanging on their backs.
"Come on, Shyto!" Spellhealer called.
"May I assist you?" Shyto noticed how Spellbreaker was walking slower, and bending his hooves.
"I'm f-fine..."
"You sure, my Prince?" Spellbreaker fell over and had a death glare stuck on his face.
"SHYTO." Spellbreaker shouted at the knight.
"Here, let me take those bags." Shyto picked up the bags and hung them over his back. Spellbreaker got up.
"Spellhealer, wait." Spellbreaker called out.
"I'm waiting!" Spellhealer said to his twin. "Oh, hey, do you see that white cottage?"
"What- Oh, that cottage. Yes, I do see it, idiot. Shyto, do you think we should ask the owners if we could rest?"
"We haven't even been gone that long, my prin-"
"YES, but we would need some place to rest AFTER TEN HOURS."
"Yes, your majesty..." Shyto hesitantly knocked on the bamboo door of the cottage. A young mare, maybe in her teens, opened the door. She was eating what looked like blueberries and ice cream with strawberry bits.
"howdy, what ken ay do faw y'all?" She spoke.
"Hi, my name is Sir Shyto and I am assisting the princes of Breezeoak on their way to the Dragon Kingdom. Would you mind if we stayed with you for a night?" Shyto asked the cream colored earth pony. She thought for a second.
"Thay ...uh princes, huh?" She swallowed another bite of her treat.
"Yes." Shyto confirmed.
"Ugh, come on Shyto!" Spellbreaker groaned in impatientness.
"Well, Ah'd be mahwe than awhfully' happy ta' share ma' home with royalty."
"Great, thank you, uh...."
"Apple Juice. Cousin ta' Applejack."
"Apple Juice. Nice name. Okay, idiots, she allowed us in." The twins were currently bickering, but stopped and went inside.
"Y'all hungry? Ah could make sum' apple pie." Apple Juice asked the three.
"Oh, yeah! I could eat." Spellhealer said to Apple Juice, who smiled and went to her kitchen. Spellhealer looked around Apple Juice's living room, gazing at the apple printed window curtains, the apple green sofa with light green throw pillows, the dark, birch wood flooring, and pictures on the walls of Apple Juice and her family/friends, the light green and orange colored walls, There was a fireplace with a shield of warmth surrounding the fire, and a cooking pot in the opening for boiling.
"Spellhealer, y'all apple pie is ready. Come get it when it's hot." Apple Juice said. Spellhealer snapped out of his daze and smiled, walking to the earth pony and picking up his piece of apple pie. He carefully bit into it and yelped.
"This is really hot!" He yelled.
"Seriously? She just warned you," Spellbreaker scoffed. He was currently resting his head with his hoof, a bored gaze trapped on his face. "Hey, could I have a piece?"
"Well ahfcourse' y'all could!" Apple Juice cut a slice of the apple pie, putting it on a plate, and walked over to Spellbreaker.
"Thanks." Spellbreaker blew on his piece, and bit into it. He spit it out.
"What is this?! Berry Tree cooks better than this, and she's not even the cook!" Spellbreaker said with anger on his face.
"Ah'm so sorry. Ah' could bake ah'notheh-"
"Apple Juice, no." Spellbreaker said.
"Hey, respect. She is allowing us to stay." said Shyto.
"'Said thanks."
"That's not what I meant." Spellbreaker stomped across the wooden floor, and made his way outside. He leaned against the birch tree railing, gazing up at the full moon in the twilight-colored sky. Shyto walked out and the cool night breeze made his brown and pink mane flow.
"What?" Spellbreaker asked, not taking his gaze off the moon.
"Luna won't be happy when she finds out that you're staring at the moon than sleeping."
"What does she care? She just goes to ponies dreams and stop nightmares." Spellbreaker shifted.
"Listen, I don't want you to be sleepy on a dangerous path." Shyto walked and stopped when he was next to the prince of destruction.
"Father wouldn't care if I slept or not."
"I bet the queen would."
"She's...the queen. She's part of the Peace Keepers, so obviously."
"Ugh, you're so stubborn."
"That's me. You know what? You're right. I need sleep." Spellhealer heard Spellbreaker's voice from the bamboo door.
"You're absolutely useless." Spellbreaker scoffed and walked inside, then laid on the couch.
"Actually, ah' have spare rooms for y'all." Apple Juice said. Spellbreaker got up and walked to a spare room. Shyto followed.
"Do you need assistance?"
"Uh, sure.." Spellbreaker yawned. Shyto curled the bed covers up and Spellbreaker laid down, then was covered with warm covers.
"Night."
"Night."
Spellhealer finished eating and went to a spare room. Shyto asked if Spellhealer needed assistance, but Spellhealer refused.
"Alright, night."
"Good night."
