CHAPTER FOUR: THE END OF THE TRENCH
Meanwhile, Spellhealer and Muddy Trench were in the woods, trying to gather wood for fire. Muddy Trench had a smirk hidden behind the shadow of trees. She went next to Spellhealer.
"You're like....soooooooooo cute..." She said.
"Uh, thanks..."
"Your brother is also pretty cute!" Muddy Trench squealed.
"Shh, you might wake the snake that roams these lands..."
"But you're SOOO CUUUTE." Her voice echoed in the forested area, alerting a certain snake. The snake slithered around the trees, its giant eyes glowing with anger and hostility.
"Way to go, Muddy!" Spellhealer said angrily.
"What?" Suddenly the snake wrapped around her, squeezing her to death. Literally.
"MUDDY!" Spellhealer tried to approach the snake, but the snake hissed, stopping Spellhealer. The youngest prince's light blue horn glowed yellow along with the snake's body wrapped around the mare.
"I'll..try to get...you.. Away.." But the snake only wrapped around the pony more, and Spellhealer stopped. When the snake was satisfied, he let go, letting the limp body crash to the forested floor. The snake slithered away, and the prince kneeled down to the pony, tearing up.
"No..No...no..." he placed his horn on the pony, and tried a healing spell, but it didn't work. It only works on alive things...that means...
"No..She's...gone...she..can't." Spellhealer cried over the body.
"M-Muddy..." He whimpered. Muddy Trench's eyes were open slightly, staring up at the sky lifelessly, her mouth open in horror.
"You can't die." He whimpered.
"Spellhealer..." A rough voice called his brother.
"B-..Brother.... She..."
"I know. She was a distraction. To mess with our feelings." Spellbreaker wrapped his wing around his twin, allowing him to cry.
"Normally I'd tease you about crying, but...I.. guess I'm sorry for not telling you."
"You knew?" Spellhealer looked up, his grey and purple eyes filled with betrayal and sorrow.
"Yes. Father said-"
"FATHER? Spellbreaker..." Spellhealer cried softly.
"Hey, I'm sorry I couldn't tell you... But...He's..trapped in my mind."
"You're crazy." Spellhealer said, wiping his tears.
"No, really...he told me that Muddy Trench was a trap..." Spellhealer sighed.
"Okay, I believe you." He said, standing up, and rested his head on his brother, and smiled.
"I still think you're insane."
"I feel like I'm going insane."
Later, Spellbreaker decided to try to follow the trail, again.
The prince sighed and the peruvian viper entangled itself around Spellbreaker's hoof, and its bright green eyes glowed.
"Father..don't do this to me..." He begged, but the snake only hissed, and spit its venom into the mouth of the poor prince. He swallowed the venom, and coughed.
"W-..wai.." He grabbed his neck and realized he couldn't breathe. He coughed, and coughed, and then his red and blue eyes turned bright pink and his iris was of a snake's. Down his neck were pink and yellow scales. His mane was tinted pink and yellow. His flowy, red tail has turned into a snake tail with sharp ridged scales. His sharp, dragon tooth grew longer and formed into a snake fang. The whites of his eyes turned pink, and he sighed. His mane changed style-wise. He ran his hoof through it and looked at himself.
"Father..why did you do this to me? Who are you?" He asked the snake.
"I am you."
"What do you- A-AH...Argh.." Spellbreaker fell to the ground in pain, scratching at his new scales, clawing at his skin as a burning sensation flowed through him.
"W-..what is...happening.." He coughed.
"That is your venom. Use it well, son."
"Venom?! What...am...I?"
"You're a peruvian viper."
"How can I help you escape my mind...?" Spellbreaker bared his fangs, looking at the giant snake in front of him. Lord Skyfire then turned into his pony form, smirking down at the young prince.
"I can handle that, son." Lord Skyfire smirked, a strand of his black mane falling in front of his face. He cast a spell, his horns glowing black, and suddenly he was gone. Spellbreaker felt dizzy and fell to the ground, blacking out. When he awoke, Cosmic was laying next to Spellbreaker, sleeping silently. He shook her gently awake.
"Cos...C-..." He suddenly coughed up black stuff, and stared at it on his hoof.
"..Wha..." He muttered. He looked closer and saw that it was venom.
"What...is..this..." Cosmic rubbed her eyes, staring at the venom.
"Are you-...are you okay?" Cosmic asked.
"I'm...fine." Spellbreaker smiled.
"You coughed up...venom..." Spellbreaker wiped it off and gave her a reassuring look. Cosmic yawned, and looked closer at the hoof of the prince. She touched it, and the prince groaned in pain.
"Augh...n...that hurts..." Cosmic's cheeks turned pink. She let her hoof fall down to the floor of the forest, looking away from the viper-pony. Spellbreaker rested his hoof under the mare's chin, making her look at the pink, snake-like pupils that belonged to the prince. Cosmic looked at the stallion, her heart beating quickly. She didn't know why she was feeling this way towards him. She guessed it was a certain after effect of the pony's transformation. She stared down at Spellbreaker's lips, looking at the sharp fangs that have grown. Spellbreaker noticed her staring, and smirked.
"You like my fangs, don't you?" He asked. Cosmic jumped in surprise and her pink blush darkened into a visible, red blush.
"W-what? No...They're..." She looked again, "Too sharp for me." Spellbreaker could see through her lie as he smirked more, this time, he stood taller, showing his dominance. He ruffled his feathers, making them fluff up and make them look bigger. He grinned, showing his large fangs. He looked down at her with the same smirk, and Cosmic shrank down.
"What? Are you...scared...of me?" Spellbreaker taunted towards Cosmic Blizzard. Cosmic cleared her throat, and rose to her hooves. She stood tall, but not as tall as the prince of Destruction. She also ruffled her wings, making them bigger. She had a determined look on her face, trying to be the dominant one. Spellbreaker let out a loud cackle.
"You... you are trying to be the dominant one? Haha, that's great..that's real great. Let me tell you, you're short, weak, and powerless. You can't possibly overpower me." He laughed again, showing his forked tongue. Cosmic frowned. She tried harder to stand taller, but couldn't.
"DARN IT IF ONLY I WASN'T SO SHOR-Mmmmhhh-" Spellbreaker pressed his lips onto hers, then backed away.
"You need to be more quiet." He growled. Cosmic froze, a VERY noticeable blush was on her cheeks. Her pupils were dilated.
"You seem happy." He added. Cosmic covered her blush, and looked away.
"You...you're different with that...uh... snake look... You're more...dominant..." Cosmic spoke, her blush going away. Even though she did enjoy that kiss, she knew it was wrong. She was married, has a kid, and she knew Spellbreaker wasn't really Spellbreaker. He wasn't all the way there.
"Spellbreaker, you know how you mentioned that your father was trapped inside your mind? I don't think that's the case. Look, charred hoofprints. And they're leading to the Dragon Kingdom." Spellbreaker and Cosmic decided to follow the tracks.
