"Jungkook I'm really just going to need you to relax for me, alright?"

Namjoon could basically feel Jungkook trembling as his nimble fingers took hold of the younger witch's jaw. His violet eyes were filled with worry as he stared at Namjoon, his bottom lip caught between his teeth. "I'm going to be so careful with you, you have absolutely nothing to worry about."

The small blade of the pocketknife he kept in his pocket glinted tauntingly at Jungkook, sending a bolt of fright down his spine. "I just need you to think of something that makes you feel calm, okay? This isn't going to work if your mind as all frazzled and filled with worry." A soothing hand stroked the side of Jungkook's face gently, hoping to ease his nerves.

"The forest makes me feel calm." Jungkook spoke softly, attempting to calm his erratic heart beat as Namjoon brought the blade of his knife up to his cheek. He wasn't quite sure why he was so scared, maybe it was due to the fact that having a blade so close to him made him think of how his parents must've met their demise.

"Yeah?" Namjoon returned, Jungkook feeling the cold metal of the pocketknife press into the skin over his cheekbone. "What about it makes you feel so calm?"

He pressed the blade deeper into Jungkook's skin, carefully slicing into it. He could feel the younger witch tense up due to the action, fingers curling into the fabric of his white dress shirt in an attempt to keep himself under control.

"The forest doesn't judge." He mumbled, his voice somewhat strained as he felt the blade finally leave his skin. A burning sting radiated out from the cut, but Jungkook found it to be bearable so long as he didn't overthink it. "No matter what time of the day you walk through it, it will always be calm and forgiving." Jungkook's heart already felt light as he spoke, not sure if it was due to the spell or just the thought of his favourite place to be.

"I've heard that green witches can communicate with nature, is that true?" Namjoon asked softly, swiping his thumb across the fresh cut and collecting the blood onto it. He hovered his thumb above a candle that he had lit prior, letting the younger witch's blood drip into the flame.

"Not necessarily communicate, but we have an understanding that they are living things just as we are." Jungkook answered softly, closing his eyes as Namjoon began to work. "Though plants don't have brains like we do, the green witch philosophy is that everything that lives, has feelings. If a healthy flower begins to wilt, there will always be a reason besides just dehydration or something of the sort."

He heard Namjoon mutter something indecipherable, a slight tingling feeling in his fingertips growing stronger with each word that the older witch spoke. "I think that I like plants more than I like all of the other living things."

Namjoon couldn't help but chuckle at Jungkook's words, uttering the last few words of the spell before quickly blowing out the candle he was using. The second that the flame went out a sharp gasp left Jungkook's lips, the younger witch feeling a wave of warmth wash over his entire body.

For a brief second he felt like he was floating, his head feeling light as a shiver travelled from his toes up to his fingertips. The persistent ache that he always felt in his chest melted away, leaving him feeling floaty and serene.

He slowly opened his eyes, chest feeling light and mind feeling as if it was in a haze as he directed his gaze over to Namjoon. His eyes were doe like, wide and curious. The playful youthfulness that had been missing seemed to have returned, a lazy smile on his face as he watched Namjoon walk back over to him.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, Jungkook blinking a few times before answering.

"Good." He beamed, his eyes crinkling up into crescents as a smile overtook his expression. "I'm good." It had been ages since Namjoon had seen such a wide smile grace the younger witch's face, the last time before this being before the slaying had occurred. Jungkook slowly stood up, legs wobbling slightly as he did so. "Thank you." He leaned forwards and wrapped his arms around Namjoon, sighing happily as he nuzzled his face into the crook of his friend's neck.

"Yeah, yeah." Namjoon chuckled, smoothing Jungkook's unruly hair down as the young witch simply exuded joy into the atmosphere around him. Seeing Jungkook happy was an absolutely amazing sight, but it was also saddening to know that he needed the help of magic to achieve such a level of joy. He was too scarred from his past to do it on his own. "It'll last about seven hours. When you feel it wearing off, try to have a nap. Coming down can be really hard on some people."

"I'll be fine." Jungkook shrugged, pulling away from Namjoon and looking around his house. Everything seemed to suddenly look much more vibrant, his plants looked healthier, and the smell of his spices was sweeter. Everything was so surreal, his heart felt as if it was going to burst.

"I'm serious, Jungkook." Namjoon was quickly realizing that he should have mentioned this beforehand. "It's hard to get a glimpse of happiness, and then have it ripped away from you again."

Jungkook merely hummed, mind completely in the clouds as he unbuttoned his cloak and folded it over his chair. "Jungkook."

"That's nice." The younger witch responded, unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt and rolling up his sleeves. "I'm going on a walk."

Namjoon was going to protest, but knew that only someone stupid would try to stop a green witch from going out into nature. He exhaled deeply and grabbed one of Jungkook's wrists, turning the younger so that they made eye contact.

"Do not leave the forest." He spoke sternly. "I know that everything feels all safe and wonderful right now, but the world has not changed. Only your mindset has."

Jungkook nodded slowly, facial expression calm and unbothered as Namjoon observed him. He did look somewhat presentable now that he had lost his hat and cloak, but it was hard to tell what he might say or do if he came in contact with a human. "I do have to get going soon, because I need to leave for Seoul before dark, but I do believe that you know how to take care of yourself. You've still got your logic and reasoning skills, don't get too overwhelmed by the new found happiness."

"You worry too much." Jungkook giggled, pushing a few pieces of hair out of his eyes. Even the violet hue of his eyes seemed brighter than before, and it was so amazing to see how much a person could change when they were filled with joy.

"It's hard not to worry about you Jungkook."

Namjoon watched with sad eyes as Jungkook pushed open his front door and skipped into the forest, a newfound joy adding a spring into his usually sluggish steps.

He really did wish the best for the younger witch.
