ZARINA SHON WAS NOT COMPROMISING, and she never will be. Growing up under the influence of John Constantine, She learned to navigate life on the fringes, where survival came first, and trust was a rare commodity. She had always known that Constantine's influence was a double-edged sword: it taught her how to survive, outwit the supernatural, and navigate chaos, but it also instilled a deep mistrust of others and a reliance on self-preservation.

Her direct, frequently abrasive attitude and reluctance to share responsibility lead to conflict with the team that was already reluctant to have her. Her streetwise cunning and magical expertise are unquestionably strengths, but her struggles with trust and teamwork create a volatile mix that the team must learn to navigate—if she's willing to meet them halfway. But the thing is, she isn't willing to meet them halfway.

As for Dick Grayson, he didn't meet her halfway. Where she was, he was there as well. But despite this, their relationship will continue to falter—or so Zia believes. Dick, ever the idealist, believed in teamwork and loyalty above all else, traits that deeply shaped his view of love and partnership. However, her reluctance to trust her team—and by extension, him—created a chasm between them that neither could bridge.

For Dick, it was a painful realization that sometimes love isn't enough to overcome the barriers we build within ourselves. For Zia she knew this will happen eventually, she knew that one day this is where it will end up; them breaking up.

Zarina Shon was not compromising, but maybe this second time around, she'll finally see the value in letting go of her defenses. The stubborn walls she'd built around her heart had kept her safe for so long, but they also kept her isolated. She knew her reluctance to trust was the root of the breakup between her and Dick, and while she wasn't the type to admit mistakes easily, a part of her knew that the fear she carried had ultimately cost her something meaningful.

If she could finally trust—herself, her team, and perhaps even Dick—maybe, just maybe, this time would be different.

❥ welcome the book two of the Charmverse (Zia Shon Multiverse) in this fic, Zia is still the same as her counterparts but the age is the only thing different and some changes have occurred with other characters. Please take note that Zia is an antihero much like John Constantine. Zia would play dirty just to win, and thats kinda the main driving point of Zia and Dick's break-up.

❥ she is inspired by a lot but mostly she is inspired (power wise) by Agatha Harkness and Wanda Maximoff (the badass comic book version not wendy ripoff) and face-wise you can imagine Thorn from Scooby-doo as Zia (well east asian thorn that is).

❥ This is an exes to lovers trope! they already broke up during the 5 year jump, and they havent seen each other since. Zia joined the team alongside after Garth and Donna joined, she left the same time as they did so she joined 2013 and left in 2015. Also take note Zia was 15 when she joined the team. Zia is two years younger than Dick, this is canon in all of the Charmverse books.
