Third Person's POV

We start in Seaside Island as Sonic and Brody are running, Dr. Eggman is pursuing them in the Eggmobile, firing at them. Amy, Turbo and Tails are also running, being chased and fired at by a Buzz Bomber and a Motobug. Sonic and Brody come to a tree, but it is fired at and falls over; Sonic and Brody dodge by using their Spin Jump, then continue running. Now, the Motobug is running away from Amy, who uses her hammer to attack; Knuckles and Ralph follows her, pursuing the Buzz Bomber, then Sticks, Turbo and Tails follow them "Jungle laser, jungle laser, fry you with my laser!" Eggman sings  and Sonic and Brody look ahead and see a tree; in the tree is a bird's nest with birds inside it "Hey Eggman, smile for the birdie!" Brody said and he and Sonic jump into the tree, and it flings the bird's nest right off the tree. The birds fly at Eggman, and peck his glasses "Ow, ow, they're pecking my eyes! Why would I ever smile at this?" Eggman asks and flies away, and Sonic and Brody pursue him, while Amy, Ralph, Knuckles, Turbo, Tails, and Sticks pursue Orbot and Cubot. Dr. Eggman comes up to a cliff wall, and part of it opens, revealing a cave inside. He enters the cave, followed by Sonic and Brody. The wall closes, this time revealing some sort of a temple door and Knuckles skids to a stop at the door, and punches it, but nothing happens and everyone else approaches the door.

In the Buddy Buddy Temple, Sonic and Brody chase Eggman through the temple, as more doors close behind them "What are you two doing? We should fight this way" Eggman said "No, this way" Sonic said pointing the other way "The natural direction of the fight is taking us left" Sonic said "Yes, we should go left. My left" Eggman said "No, my left" Sonic said "My left. Your right" Eggman said "I know I'm right. We should go left. That's the right left" Sonic said "What? Brody reason with your boyfriend cause this doesn't make any-" Eggman said when the floor crumbles "I'm okay" Eggman said and he, Brody and Sonic are trapped in the pit and Brody's holding his leg "Agh! I twisted my ankle" Brody said "Brody!" Sonic said "I finally have you!" Eggman said panting and pushes a button to blast Sonic and Brody, but only one weak laser comes out; Sonic picks up Brody evades it easily. Eggman leans over the Eggmobile, sighing "Tuckered out, Eggman?" Sonic asks setting Brody down.

Meanwhile outside, "There's no other way in! Sonic and Brody are trapped!" Tails said "That means Doctor Eggman's trapped, too!" Orbot said and he and Cubot begin spinning around and dancing together "We're free! Free I tells ya!" Cubot said and he and Orbot hold up confetti sticks, and confetti pops out as they spin around "I could buy a houseboat, and live on it, even though it's a boat!" Cubot said "And I can finally finish my memoirs. I've been told I'm a natural recontour" Orbot said "And I've been told I'm a neutral raccoon!" Cubot said and the two robots leave "Well, we're sticking around to free Sonic and Brody. But until then, one of us needs to be in charge" Amy said "Good thinking, Amy; I'll be in charge!" Knuckles said "You? I'm in charge" Amy said "I don't trust anyone in charge" Sticks said and looks away "I know, why don't we all be in charge?" Tails asks "NO!" Amy, Sticks and Knuckles said and Ralph face palms while Turbo comforts Tails.

Back inside, Brody stands up with his arm over Sonic's shoulder "Oh, perfect! We're stuck here" Brody said "Correction: you and Sonic are stuck here" Eggman said and starts up the Eggmobile. It slowly ascends to the gap in the ceiling. But just before it reaches the opening, it starts sputtering. Then, the Eggmobile falls back down as Eggman screams. He hits the ground, shaking the temple and Eggman notices a handle on a floor tile on the floor and walks up to it. He tries to pull it, but it won't move. He sits down and sighs briefly "Wait! I can hook the Eggmobile's tow cable to this floor tile! But it doesn't have enough power to pull it open" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody cross their arms and look away "We can pull your dumb Eggmobile across the room, if that's our only option" Sonic said and Eggman pulls out a harness from inside the Eggmobile "Get in the hedgehog/wolf harness" Eggman said " What?! No way!" Sonic said "I'd ask your boyfriend but he's not in the best condition" Eggman said "If you tell anyone about this..." Sonic said irritated.

Soon, the tow cable is tied to the floor tile. Sonic, in the harness, is hooked up to the Eggmobile and Sonic is carrying Brody "Mush, mush!" Eggman said "I'm mushing, I'm mushing!" Sonic said and walks on, dragging the Eggmobile along with him. Eggman holds out his hand and smiles. As Sonic builds up speed, he loops around the floor tile. Eggman laughs as the tile begins to open up. But then, the tile falls through the new gap, pulling down Sonic, Brody and Eggman, and crashes to the ground "Did we just... cooperate?" Sonic asks panting "Yup, and I got great photos!" Eggman said and a camera flashes, and it shows a picture of Sonic and Brody falling while Eggman smiles cynically.

Meanwhile outside, Sticks is sitting alone on a rock, facing away from her friends. Amy and Knuckles face angrily away from each other, with Tails standing between them, puzzled  "Fine, if we can't decide who's in charge, we'll split up. Who wants to be on Team Amy?" Amy asks and Tails raises his hand "Great! And who wants Knuckles to lead Team Amy?" Knuckles asks and Amy growls softly "Amy leads Team Amy; Knuckles leads Team Knuckles" Amy said "Can I be on both teams?" Tails asks "NO!" Knuckles and Amy said "Trust me love, you don't want to be a part of this" Turbo said picking up Tails and sitting next to Ralph "Help!" Cubot said as he and Orbot return "We can't be on our own!" Cubot said "All that freedom, too many choices!" Orbot said.

Back inside, Eggman is working on his Eggmobile, while Brody looks at the inscriptions written on the wall "You doing okay love?" Sonic asks "Yeah" Brody said "And this looks like a message written in the temple's lost language" Brody said "Ha!" Eggman said and bends down and picks up a scanner. He pushes a button, and then scans the entire perimeter around him "Congratulations: you are in the bowels of Buddy Buddy Temple. Enter as strangers, leave as best pals forever" Eggman read and Sonic walks up and takes the scanner, and he continues reading it "Follow the example of the Buddy Beavers to become true bosom buddy amigos?" Sonic reads "Pfft, I ain't interested in your bosom, buddy" Eggman said and walks over to the side of the Eggmobile, and he leans on it. It activates a switch on the floor, and the floor opens up, revealing a pool of lava. Sonic and Eggman back to either side as the Eggmobile falls in. Brody looks to his side, and he sees a mural inscription of the Buddy Beavers "Follow the Buddy Beavers..." Brody said and looks behind and sees a lever, then pulls it. A platform comes out of the wall on the other side, next to Eggman "Pull your lever, Eggman!" Brody said and Eggman climbs onto the platform, and he pulls the lever. Now, another part of the wall comes out next to Sonic and Brody. Sonic climbs up helping Brody and Sonic pulls the lever on top, and they keep doing so together until they reach a door with two levers. They try to pull them down individually, but it doesn't work "Let's do it together" Sonic said and Sonic, Brody and Eggman pull both levers at the same time, and the door opens. They both head through it, but then, Eggman comes back and looks at the Eggmobile sinking in the lava. A sad funeral tune plays "You were too beautiful to live..." Eggman said and the Eggmobile completely sinks.

Sonic, Brody and Eggman are in a strange room with holes in the wall. Eggman inspects the smaller holes going around in a straight line "Why would there be little holes in this wall? Maybe people put pennies in them" Eggman said and Sonic peers into the hole, but he suddenly steps back in shock and points "Darts!" Sonic said and darts fly out of the holes. Shown in slow-motion, Sonic leaps towards Eggman and shoves him aside, saving him from the darts "Get off me!" Eggman said and throws Sonic off his back "You're welcome" Sonic said sarcastically "Agh, my ankle! I think it's sprained. Oh, it's definitely sprained" Eggman said hopping on one leg and lifts his leg up and holds it "Oh, it's twisted something fierce!" Eggman said and Brody rolls his eyes and Sonic begins walking carrying Brody, but he steps on another floor tile. Large spikes pop out of the larger holes on each wall, and both walls begins moving towards the center slowly. Sonic notices a way out and runs to Eggman, then he helps him walk towards the exit "About this morning, I'm sorry for, you know, blasting you with all those lasers. I need to learn not to try to incinerate you all the time" Eggman said "Thanks... I guess" Sonic and Brody said and the three approach a portcullis with two buttons on opposite sides "We've gotta hit these at the same time" Brody said and Sonic and Dr. Eggman take opposite sides and push the two buttons together. The portcullis opens, and then strangely, although Eggman has twisted his ankle, he is capable of running through on his own without assistance. Eggman's hurries through, but just as Sonic and Brody are about to, Eggman shoves them back as the portcullis drops "Ha! I can't believe you fell for the old "sprained ankle" act. I stole the idea from you!" Eggman said ""Ow, my ankle! I think it's sprained!" Man, those improv classes are really paying off" Eggman said imitating Brody "You Eggs-Benedict-Arnold!" Sonic and Brody said "So long, hedgehog and wolf! Hope you don't find this turn of events crushing! Get it, cause you'll be crushed by the walls? They'll crush you" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody aren't laughing; he just frown and stare at him "I'll explain it after you're crushed" Eggman said and walks away, leaving Sonic and Brody trapped between the two walls that are closing in on him. Eggman whistles Jungle Laser until he comes to yet another door, with two levers on opposite walls of the room "Come on, why would there be another door? I just opened one! Who even designed this temple? It's okay, Eggman; you got this, just pull both levers" Eggman said and runs up to the first lever, pulls it, and races to the other lever. But as he pulls the second one down, the first lever pops back up again on its own! He looks back, surprised, and hurries back to pull it down again. But as he pulls it down again, the second lever now pops back up on its own "Stay down, levers!" Eggman said and tries again, but just like last time, as he pulls one lever down, the other one pops itself back up "Stay down!" Eggman said and realizes he can't get out without Sonic and Brody's help "I was so close..." Eggman said while Sonic and Brody are trying to force one of the walls to a stop, but they can't force it back "Hedgehog, Wolf, hit your button!" Eggman said and hits a button on his side of the portcullis which opens it, and Sonic and Brody fall through just as the walls collide together "Let's go, giddy-up!" Eggman said and walks over to Sonic and Brody, who lay on their stomachs with their eyes closed. Sonic slowly stands up and helps Brody stand as Eggman talks to them "Okay, I understand why you might be upset with me. We're bosom buddy amigos now! Gimme a big smile" Eggman said and the temple starts quaking "Let's just get out of here before the roof caves in!" Brody said as rocks fall from the ceiling, and Sonic, Brody and Eggman jump to either side as an enormous boulder smacks the ground.

Meanwhile outside, Amy, Knuckles, Ralph, Turbo, Tails, Orbot, and Cubot are all standing up while Sticks sits alone on a nearby rock. They still are not doing anything "If I was in charge, we'd be in the temple already" Amy said "And if I were in charge, We'd be in the temple days ago" Knuckles said and suddenly the ground nearby starts breaking, leaving Orbot and Cubot worried "Hello? Uh, fellas?" Cubot asks "You're so incompetent" Amy said "You're too bossy!" Knuckles said and Sticks walks over, fed up "It doesn't matter who's leading; we're never getting into the..." Sticks said when the ground breaks up, and they all fall in together.

Back inside, Eggman is standing on top of Sonic's shoulders, trying to reach a higher opening. The wall nearby caves in, and Knuckles, Ralph, Turbo, Orbot, Tails, Sticks, Cubot, and Amy, in that order, appear. Amy looks over and notices Sonic, Brody and Eggman "Sonic! Brody! Are you helping Eggman?" Amy asks "What?" Sonic asks and shoves Eggman up, and leans against the wall nonchalantly "No" Sonic said and more rocks fall down, and Sonic and Brody hop up to the opening. He and Eggman see an old mine cart on a set of mine tracks "There's our way out!" Brody said and Sonic leaps through and approaches the cart carrying Brody, with Orbot following them "An old mine cart? We don't even know where it goes" Orbot said and a rock falls from the ceiling and hits him on his head, and Orbot frowns as he rubs his head "You wanna stay here?" Sonic asks and he, Brody, Eggman, Tails, Turbo, Sticks, Amy, Knuckles, Ralph, Orbot, and Cubot all get on board the mine cart, with Sonic and Eggman taking each end of the lever "Okay, ready?" Sonic asks and he and Eggman begin pumping the lever "Lift!" Sonic said "Pump!" Eggman said "Lift!" Sonic said "Pump!" Eggman said and he and Sonic keep lifting and pumping as they respectively call "Lift!" and "Pump!" The mine cart begins to move slowly, and it accelerates immediately. They race along the tracks, but the entire tunnel behind them begins caving in. They lift and pump faster as the rock slide begins to catch up, but they soon come to an opening in the cave leading back outside. The mine cart flies out, but the tracks abruptly end, and they all fall down to the ground. Rocks tumble out, and Eggman and Sonic jump away, missing being hit by a boulder "YES!" Sonic and Eggman said and they begin to high-five, but they stop themselves and walk away "We're so happy you're back boss!" Cubot said as he and Orbot were hugging Eggman's legs "We'll never desert you again" Orbot said "You'll never what?" Eggman asks "I mean, would you mind reading a draft of my memoirs?" Orbot asks "Thank goodness we've got Sonic and Brody back again. Knuckles, I can't believe we squabbled like that" Amy said "Yeah, you were out of control" Knuckles said "I was out of control?! You were being totally obstinate!" Amy said "Anf you were bossy" Knuckles said "You know, we actually made a pretty good team. It was almost like, we were friends or something" Eggman said "Yeah, like that would ever happen" Sonic said and the ground shakes, and more rocks begin to fall. Sonic, Brody and their friends run off "Catch ya later, Eggface!" Sonic and Brody said "Not if I destroy you first!" Eggman said as he, Orbot, and Cubot leave, and the picture Eggman had earlier drifts slowly down from the sky. It lands on a small rock as this chapter comes to an end.
