Chapter 15
"So what can you tell us about that Rachel?" (Y/N) asked Sally, when the small group was sitting in a restaurant near Saitama's place. They had picked this particular restaurant because it was well known that monsters hardly ever came there, for some unknown reason, and they all just wanted a quiet night.
"She's... Well..." Sally munched on a small piece of her steak, lost in thought for a moment, before she spoke again, "All she ever wanted was for father to accept her, but he was kind of a big asshole about it. It's hard to explain."
"About what?" asked Sonic, who was slicing off a piece of his meatball with one hand, his other arm casually draped around (Y/N)'s shoulders.
"Well..." Sally stared at the ground, biting her thumb in thought. "Honestly, I don't think I should be telling you this, because she will kill me if I do." It was obvious that she had been opressed by her sister for many years, and that she was still deathly afraid of her.
"We will not allow her to hurt you." Genos suddely spoke up, giving everyone a start. He had been strangely quiet during the rest of the meal. "No matter what, okay? You're safe, with us. Besides, she won't be able to beat Sensei, no matter what she does." He glanced over at Saitama, who was concentrating on measuring two fries to check which one was the largest. He looked up for just a second to meet Genos' gaze, pulled up an eyebrow, as if to say 'What are you looking at?' and then continued his task.
"I agree," smiled (Y/N), laying her utensils down next to her now empty plate. "That jerk won't hurt you anymore, we won't let her, and that's a promise." She flashed a wide grin at the smaller girl, who looked away shyly.
"Thanks..." she muttered.
"So are you gonna tell us what her deal is?" Sonic interrupted the moment. "Or at least what she wants to do?"
"Her main goal is to make this elixer to make her the strongest person alive or something, but she has some experiments running on the side as well," Sally spoke in an even quieter voice than usual. "And lately, most of her experiments have been starting to get results. I mean, I observe her daily, and I see that she is constantly getting stronger, faster, etcetera. Three months ago, she could barely push one of our tables away, but now, she's able to lift it up with one hand. I suppose that she's just been so busy with her other problem that she can't be bothered to realize that it's working, and I won't let her realize how strong she is, because she'll destroy the whole world or something, her plans were kind of vague. I feel like I'm rambling. Am I rambling?" she finished awkwardly, fiddling with her hands.
"What's her other problem?" (Y/N) asked curiously.
"Can't tell you." Sally replied almost like a robot, completely freezing in place for a few seconds.
Genos raised an eyebrow at (Y/N), who shrugged in response. She had no clue what was going on with the girl right now, although it was almost impossible for her to hide her curiosity.
She was about to ask another question, when they were interrupted by a panicky waiter who told them to get out of the restaurant as quickly as possible, as there was a monster sighted nearby.
"Oh, come on!" Saitama grunted, taking both of his now cold fries and stuffing them into his mouth. "Can't we just have one peaceful evening? Fine, I'll-"
"I'll take care of it," Genos blurted out, jumping up from his seat and sprinting out of the restaurant in barely three seconds.
"What's up with that guy lately?" Saitama said, picking up two new fries from his plate and starting to compare them. "Meh, whatever."
"I'm going after him," Sonic sighed, jumping up, giving (Y/N) a quick kiss on the cheek and running away as well. "Be right back!"
"Bye then," (Y/N) replied softly as she was left there with her brother and Sally.
"I have to go pee," Sally said, standing up while the sound of explosions was heard from the outside. "Be right back."
"What is wrong with you people?" the waiter said, hopping from his left foot to his right anxiously. "We are being attacked. By a monster! Why aren't you running?"
(Y/N) opened her mouth to reply, but the waiter had already ran away, realizing there was nothing he could do to save these idiots. He didn't realize most, if not all of them were heroes, some of them were even professional, and one of them was even the strongest man on earth and probably also the strongest in the rest of the universe, but that wasn't sure at all. Who knew what secrets outer space held?
"Should someone follow her?" Saitama asked absentmindedly. "In case the monster was a distraction to get some, if not all of us away from here, and that waiter kept on giving her water to make her need to pee, so she would be all alone in the bathroom with the strongest of us battling that thing outside, and now she's probably gonna get kidnapped by Rachel, who doesn't want her to spill this huge secret of hers."
(Y/N) remained quiet for just a few seconds, thinking over his observation, then jumped up. "Oh, shi-!"
She ran to the bathroom, throwing the door open and looking around frantically. "Sally?"
"Yes?" came her quiet voice from one of the stalls. "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry, I thought you were... Nevermind. Just hurry up, okay?"
"Okay!" the girl replied cheerfully, but was interrupted by a voice from behind (Y/N).
"Well, hello there," Rachel said in her deep voice, crossing her arms over her chest. "I didn't know you'd be here too. Ah well, the more people there are, the more fun the party!" she chuckled, and then (Y/N) felt a sharp pain in the back of her head, before she even had a chance to turn around.
"Just kidding, I hate parties," Rachel spat as the other girl fell to the ground, blacking out almost instantly.
Yeah, I know I haven't updated in way too long, but I was busy with some personal stuff. Don't expect updates to become any more frequent, because you know me. Sorry for being a dick with updating, and as always, vote and comment if you liked it, don't if you didn't, etcetera, you know the drill. Have a nice day.
