Chapter 14
Sorry for typos that might occur, but I've got a new computer, so it's another keyboard, which I'm not used to yet.
Somehow, the two managed to get out of the forest they were in, and it turned out they were right next to the building of the Hero Association.
They started to approach it, but were stopped by a guard. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" he asked them, holding his gun ready to shoot.
Both Sally and (Y/N) held up their hands, not wanting to be shot by a random guard.
"Can I make a swift phonecall?" Sally asked. "My phone died and we're lost."
The guard sighed. Perhaps he was tired, or just trusted people way too easily, but he let them through. "Ask for Malcolm at the front desk, and then ask him for the call, he'll be able to help you two with that."
Long story short, they did what he said, and about half an hour later, Sonic, Genos, and Saitama came bursting through the door. They had a short brawl about who could hug (Y/N) the first (Saitama won), and then, after a short, yet moving reunion, they went back to their home, Sally awkwardly walking behing the group.
"Sooo..." (Y/N) said, rubbing the back of her head, not sure what to do.
"I think we should go for dinner together," Sonic stated, laying an arm around her shoulders.
"Isn't that too expensive?" Saitama replied, checking his wallet. "I don't have that much money left for this month..."
"I'll pay!" came Sally's voice from behind (Y/N). "I took my wallet with me. Even though Rachel has my credit card, I still have a lot of cash money!" she called out cheerfully.
"That's great!" the (H/C)-coloured girl responded, ruffling the smaller girl's hair. "Good job."
Sally giggled like a small child. When she was outside of the building she had apparently been locked in by her sister, she seemed so much more carefree and happy. "No problem!" she smiled.
"Actually, I was about to recieve some upgrades by doctor Kuseno," Genos stated. "He has just finished assembling some new parts. I won't go into all of the details, but they will help me with fighting monsters, and becoming stronger."
"What a pity..." (Y/N) reacted. "Well, I wish you the best of luck."
"Thank you, (Y/N)-san," he nodded at her politely. "Oh, and before I forget, the doctor needs to conduct some tests on your arm soon, to check if everything is still working properly."
She nodded. "Okay, just tell me when."
He smiled politely and ran off.
(Y/N) focussed her attention on Saitama. "Are you coming along?"
Her brother grinned widely. "It's free food, of course I'm coming!"
The small group burst into laughter, but although they were perfectly happy, a few miles to the east there was someone who was not in a mood as cheerful as theirs.
Rachel sighed and leaned back against the door of the building, her eyes closed as she tried to absorb the last rays of the swiftly setting sun.
Does she really hate me that much? So much that she wouldn't hestitate a second to leave? She thought to herself. I was just trying to get papa to like me, she knew that. He is a man of science, after all...
Opening her eyes, she looked at her hands, tracing the lines on her right hand with her left index finger absentmindedly. A fortune teller had once told her that she would eventually become happy with who she was, but she knew that that was just something the woman made up for money.
She pinched the bridge of her nose, a gesture that she used when she needed to recollect her thoughts.
What did I ever do wrong? It isn't my fault that I am this way! she mentally shouted.
She gritted her teeth in annoyance, her left hand forming a fist, which she slammed into a nearby tree, with an enourmous amount of force, causing a small crack to form along the line of the trunk.
Her eyes flew open as she heard the unfamilliar cracking noise. It... It worked! Holy shit, it's finally working!
She ran inside, eager to document her findings. Forgotten were the thoughts she just had, this was way more important. Could it be that her research was finally starting to create results? She didn't know, but now, it was time to perform some more tests.
Well, I just want to wish you all a happy Christmas (I know, it's to late for that, but shhhhhh) and new year! I hope your 2018 will become way better than your 2017, even if that was already good.
Anyway, I have to finish the new chapter on my Ghirahim x Reader now, as I want to make a new chapter of that before this year ends as well, so byeee!
