Chapter 8 Not Alone
The video is a funny commercial I saw. Plus, who else is really excited for that movie? IT LOOKS SO AWESOME! I WANT TO SEE IT NOW, BUT IT'S NOT OUT YET! I just thought it was funny how the family in the car is oblivious to everything happening around them. XD
As for the GIF. I thought that part of the show was absolutely hilarious. :D
Fun fact. My four most favorite superheroes: The Flash (obviously), Captain America, The Winter Soldier, and Green Arrow.

I slipped on a wet spot on the sidewalk and crashed into the police station sign next to Barry. Barry jumped back as I collapsed on the steps.
"Sparky! Are you alright?" Barry asked, helping me up.
"Yeah," I panted. "Yeah, I'm good."
Barry looked up at the darkened windows. "It doesn't look like anyone's around. Where do you think he is?"
"He's right here," I recognized Joe's voice instantly. "I need to tell you something."
Barry and I both turned to face him. Barry tilted his head. "What?"
"After you two left we got a distress call-" Joe started.
"Why didn't you tell us right away?" I asked, feeling a little irritated.
Joe frowned at me. "Calm down. I just wanted you two to have fun at the quiz and not be worried about the world."
"Fair enough," I said. "Carry on."
Joe looked slightly amused at my quick change of attitude. "We found two very strange cases. One of them was a storm inside a bank, the other was a building with patches of ice everywhere. It seems you weren't the only ones struck by lightning."
I tapped my earpiece. "Hey Gizmo? You at the lab?"
"Yep. I'm here, Caitlin and Dr. Wells are too," Cisco said. "What do you need Sparky?"
"Is it possible that other people could have been affected as well?"
There was silence on the other side. Joe tilted his head at me as I walked a short distance away, gesturing for them to continue talking without me.
"Highly unlikely," I heard Dr. Wells say. "But possible. Why do you ask?"
"Because Joe just told me there was a bank robbery and the witnesses said there was an indoor storm."
"That is so cool!" Cisco whooped.
"Not really. Either me or Barry needs to go after him. There was also patches of ice inside a building."
I didn't need to be in the same room to know that Cisco's enthusiasm levels dropped. "Oh..."
"Vibe?" Barry asked, coming to stand next to me. "You good?"
"I'm Vibe too? Sheesh, how many names am I going to have?"
"Just answer the question please," I said. "If you need us to come, just say the word."
Cisco coughed. "Y-yeah. That would be good."
I frowned. "Gizmo?"
Cisco didn't respond. I shot a worried look at Barry before we both took off at full speed. I shot through the doors and did an extra lap around the room, just to make paper fly around, before sitting down in my chair with enough force to send it across the room.
Barry smirked as my chair slammed into the opposite side of the Cortex almost knocking me out of the chair. I grabbed the desk to stop myself from falling down and looked up at Cisco, Caitlin, and Dr. Wells. They all looked very grim despite my rather stupid maneuver.
Barry looked at the three with his arms folded. "Okay. What's up?"
Cisco cleared his throat nervously. "I know what caused the ice..."
I sat up, leaning forward. "You do?" I wasn't used to serious Cisco, he was always, always, sarcastic.
Cisco looked up at the ceiling. "Yeah. It was a Cold Gun... and I... I built it."
Barry and I sat in stunned silence. After an awkward moment Barry spoke up. "What did you build a Cold Gun for? Why Cisco?"
Cisco bit his lip. "I built it to stop you. Both of you," he said hastily. "I built it before we knew what you would become, before..." he waved a hand. "Before Spark and Flash were Spark and Flash."
"Why didn't you say something?!" Barry burst out. It was clear he was more frustrated by this than I was. "You could have mentioned it! You could have destroyed it! Anything! Locked it up so that nobody could get at it!"
Dr. Wells pulled his wheelchair forward. "It was locked up. Very securely. To be perfectly honest Barry, we never planned to use it unless you turned out to be really terrible."
Barry's eyes flashed dangerously, his expression something between uncertainty and anger. "Still you could have-"
I got up and walked over to him. "Barry," I whispered. "Cool off. We can stop this guy with the gun. We can move faster than it." I glanced sidelong at Cisco. "Right?"
Cisco met my gaze hesitantly. "Not if it hits you. Cold and heat are opposites. Since heated molecules move faster and cooled molecules move slower my gun would have slowed you down. Making you heal slower wherever it hit you."
I paused. "Then we just have to not get hit by it."
Caitlin looked like she was trying not to roll her eyes at me. "Easier said than done."
"Hey, I'm playing the optimist here. Everyone else is being dreary. Be happy about it! At least this other guy can't make us go slower."
That got Cisco to smile a little. "But he can still kill you, so he's not any less dangerous."
"Don't you start on danger either. You aren't an expert."
Cisco smiled sheepishly. Barry pulled his masked hood back up. "I'm going to see if I can find our weather guy."
"Tornado!" Cisco burst out. Everyone looked at him. "Sorry. That was a really bad codename... I'll come up with a better one."
I smiled. "I'll go home and hope nobody comes to freeze me in my sleep."
"Turn the volume up on your phone first," Dr. Wells suggested. "It might help you respond to us faster."
I grabbed my bag. "I doubt it. See you nerds tomorrow."
Barry followed me out the door. "You're still Spark. You know that right?"
"Yep. I figure I may as well keep my suit in my bag for when I need it."
Barry didn't respond, instead he shot away. Thinking he probably had the right idea with going fast, I ran to my apartment.
I changed into my pajamas and flopped on my bed with a quart of ice cream.
I woke up the next morning to my phone dinging. I picked it up, wondering how many messages I'd gotten this time. Only two, one from Cisco and one from Barry.
Barry: You'd better not be sleeping right now. You're late.
Cisco: GET AN ALARM CLOCK!
I grinned and texted Barry with, Late for what? and Cisco, NOOOOOO!
Feeling satisfied that I'd been annoying enough, I jumped out of bed and got ready to go at top speed. I finished packing my bag so that my suit was at the bottom and put the communication device from Cisco in my ear before my phone dinged again.
Cisco: You really need one you know.
Me: Why get an alarm clock when I have you and my brother?
I picked up my bag and was about to walk out the door without the slightest idea where I was going when my phone dinged again and I remembered why I always had it silenced. "I'm betting thirty seconds before I'm even able to get out the door," I grumbled. Since getting my speed, thirty seconds was a long time.
Barry: Joe needs to tell us something and he won't say anything without you around to hear. The suspense is KILLING ME. Please save me.
I rolled my eyes and decided not to respond. I ran out the door and turned toward the station. I hoped, as I did all the time now, that nobody would notice the sudden wind or green lightning that came with my passing.
I stopped in a large crowd of people, none of whom seemed to notice my sudden appearance in their midst. I crossed the street and walked inside the station. I peered around the corner when I heard a quiet argument between my brother and Joe.
"Please tell me now. It's going to be forever before she gets here," Barry said. "I'm going to go insane."
"You'll be fine. I'm sure it won't take as long as you think," Joe said in an amused tone.
"You have no idea how long a second is to me now, much less a few minutes."
"On the contrary," I said, walking around the corner and resting my head on Barry's shoulder. "I know exactly how long a second is."
"About time too!" Barry said, gently pushing my head off his shoulder. "What took you so long?"
"I wanted to see someone die of suspense. I've never heard of it before."
Barry huffed in annoyance. "So will you tell me now?"
"There was another mysterious storm. This one was on the street though." Joe handed Barry a file. "I think you'll be interested in that."
"And this had to wait until Skye showed up?"
"It did."
Barry muttered in annoyance and started up the stairs. I smiled at Joe and followed Barry into the lab.
My earpiece buzzed with a small amount of static. "Hello? You two have your fancy gadgets in?" Cisco's voice asked.
I pushed a button so I wouldn't have to keep reaching up every time I wanted to say something. "Yes. I don't know if Barry-"
"Yep," Barry said. He grinned at me. "What do you need?"
"Update on both nuisances," Caitlin said. "The weather guy-"
"Weatherman!" Cisco shouted. "Sorry. Carry on."
I could picture Caitlin giving him an evil look. "Anyway. He's heading toward a barn outside the city. I think one of you should check it out."
"I will," Barry said. "I need to make a stop by you first to get my suit first."
"Wait a minute first," Dr. Wells said. "The other man-"
"Captain Cold!" Cisco interrupted again. "Sorry. Don't mind me."
"Just caused a car crash close to you," Dr. Wells finished. "Barry, since you need to come by here I think Skye should get... Captain Cold."
I grinned. "Well done Cisco! You're name stuck!"
"Skye, focus," Dr. Wells said.
"Right. On my way to a car crash. Great fun."
