Chapter 29 Breaking Down the (glass) Ceilings
I am going to be skipping over a few meta-humans. There will not be Plastique and I will be doing more of the finding Firestorm stuff for now. I don't remember what other metas were in season 1 and if you could tell me the codename and real name of the teleporting lady that would be great (or is that season 2? If it's in season one and nobody tells me the name, she'll be left out as well) Most likely I'll do Pied Piper, Firestorm, Reverse Flash, the Rogues (naturally, you can't leave them out!....they were in season 1 right?), and (of course) ending with the black hole over Central City.
Don't you worry. I'll make a sequel after this one for season 2. XD
This is one week after the last chapter because I'm at a lack of starters otherwise.

The clock on my desk chirped to tell me it was eleven pm. Bucky, who had absolutely refused to leave the lab without me for reasons he didn't want to explain, was sleeping on one of the medical beds. I looked over my shoulder and resisted the extremely strong urge to wake him up since he was snoring. I knew what would most likely happen if I startled him awake. He had amazingly fast reflexes that even caught me off guard sometimes and I'm hundreds of times faster than most other people.
I shook my head and returned to my task. I was exhausted. I'd hardly slept the entire week trying to find some hints about Ronnie. I'd completely forgotten about the possibility that he could still be alive until I rediscovered the engagement ring in the pocket of my jeans. The words on the screen mushed together into an incomprehensible line of letters as I spun the ring on my desk. I'd gone through everything I could find on what I started to call "Pyromancer" but Cisco insisted on calling "Firestorm".
I shoved the ring into my pocket and leaned back, rubbing my eyes. I was now stuck in the lab. I didn't want to wake Bucky up, because of the possibility of being attacked was rather high, and I didn't want to leave for home while he was sleeping because it was highly likely that he would assume the worst and do something impulsive.
"I seem to detect a slight predicament in your current situation," a familiar voice said behind me.
"Hey, Prongs," I said, suppressing a yawn. "What are you doing up so late?"
"Please call me Saila," she said. There was a puff of wind as Saila shot over to me and sat down. She placed a hand on the stack of paper that had attempted to fly away. "I'm here because Barry's worried about you and Cisco thought I would be the best option."
She was so calm it was almost like she had an aura around her. There hadn't been a touch of lightning either, not even a tiny spark. I tried not to dwell on that fact and stay focused on what she had to say.
"You, hermana, are going to go home and sleep," Saila said firmly, looking directly at me.
I also tried to ignore the suddenly blindingly obvious Spanish accent in her voice. That was somewhat harder than I had expected. "I can't. Buck would panic."
Saila glanced at Bucky, then back to me, a small smile forming on her face. "I can fix that problem."
Saila got to her feet and walked over to Bucky. She stood on his left side. I realized what she was going to do a second late. I leaped to my feet to stop her. "Saila!"
Saila reached out a shook Bucky's shoulder. "Hey, Buck. Skye wants to-" she was cut off by Bucky's metal arm flying into her chest, launching her into the wall.
Bucky sat up instantly, tense at first, then realization crossed his face. "Oh gosh. Are you alright?" he asked Saila.
Saila pushed herself up from the floor and shook her head vigorously. I was amazed she could even stand. "Yep, I'm good." She took a step forward and staggered into a desk. "Umph. In a second..." She put her hands on the desk and grinned at Bucky and I. "Well then. You can head home now Skye. Buenas noches!"
Bucky looked at me and smiled a bit. "Well, at least you aren't sleeping here tonight."
I made a face at him. "Shush."
I looked back just before leaving the room. Saila gave me a mischievous grin and waved, calling something in Spanish after us. I glanced at Bucky, hoping he knew what she'd said, but he just shrugged.
The next morning, Bucky and I arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs at ten o'clock in the morning. Exactly one minute after I'd woken up. Bucky went into the Cortex first and looked around.
I followed him. The Cortex was almost completely empty. All of the computers were playing screensavers and R2 was charging next to my desk. Saila was the only one in the room. She was building something I couldn't see from my angle and she was wearing her silver suit.
"Good morning you two," she said without turning around. She put whatever she was working on in a drawer and locked it.
"Morning, Saila," Bucky said. "Where is everyone?"
"Well seeing as you got a super speed ride here, you're going to get another one," Saila got up and turned to us. I noticed an emblem over her heart in the shape of a flaming meteor.
The calm amusement that usually hung in the air around her was gone. My confusion must have crept into my expression because she gave me a wry smile.
Bucky frowned. "Alright."
"Follow me, Skye," Saila said. She shot out of the room.
Before I could give time for Bucky to say anything I picked him up, hoping I wouldn't have to run too far and dashed after Saila. Her silvery lightning had returned as she wove through traffic. It wasn't a far run, but by the time she stopped and I was able to drop Bucky on his feet, my arms were burning from the exertion.
We stood at the end of the driveway to a mansion. The doors were handicap accessible and the driveway was gravel. A cop car and one of the vans from the lab were parked in the driveway. I recognized the license plate of the cop car as Joe's, which led me to believe that Barry was here too. The van was probably Cisco or Caitlin, or both.
I looked up at the sprawling mansion, then looked at Saila. "Where the heck are we?"
Saila smirked as she pulled up the silver hood on her suit. Her face disappeared in shadow as she said, "Dr. Wells' home."
I gave her a surprised look. I could see just enough of her face to see that her smirk hadn't gone away. She shot inside without waiting for Bucky and me. I sighed and followed after her with Bucky behind me.
The instant I walked through the door, I was stepping on shards of glass. I now understood why Joe and Barry were here. Dr. Wells' wheelchair crunched over the glass in my direction with Cisco and Caitlin behind him.
"Ah, hello Skye, Bucky. I see Saila brought you here," he smiled at me, but there was something about it that seemed off. "We were just leaving."
I nodded and walked around them to where Barry, Joe, and Saila stood. Barry waved at me, then went to looking at the glass.
The instant Dr. Wells, Caitlin, and Cisco had left Saila spoke up. "What if we put the glass back together the way it was before it shattered and fell?"
Barry moved some of the glass with his foot. "Hmm... We could..."
He and Saila started on opposite sides of the room and started rebuilding the glass into a sheet. As they worked, Joe explained to me what had happened. He told me that Dr. Wells said someone had thrown something through the glass roof while he was getting ready for bed.
"Hey, guys?" Saila said. "There's no sign that anything made contact with the glass."
I turned around to the perfectly reassembled sheet of glass. "What if it was something big that they just pressed onto the glass until it broke?"
Barry shook his head. "There would still be a sign that something pushed on it. Besides," he pointed up at where the glass had been, "there would be glass around the edges, but there's not."
"So the only possible way it could have broken would be..." I trailed off.
"Shockwaves," Saila finished. She ran a hand through her hair, pushing her hood down in the process. "Not another one!"

Hehehehehehehehe. WELCOME BACK!
I will not be adding any more characters to this story because I don't want things to get too hecktic. Instead, I will wait until the next book to add Merlin Warlock. I won't tell you anything about him so you'll have to wait and see.
May the speed force be with you! Stay determined.
