Chapter 11 TORNADO!

The video is why I like Cisco so much. XD "SUPERSONIC PUNCH BABY! WOOO!"
________________

Barry and I limped into S.T.A.R. Labs. We were leaning heavily on each other. Cisco and Caitlin had argued viciously with Barry and I against doing it, but we won in the end. Cisco opened the doors to the Cortex for us.

We walk in and stopped dead. Cisco and Caitlin bumped into us.

"What?" Cisco asked nervously. "What happened? Did you-"

Felicity stood with her back to us in the center of the room. She turned when Cisco spoke and her eyes widened when she saw Barry and I. "Oh my gosh! Are you two okay?"

"We're fine," I said. "Cisco. Heating pads please."

   Cisco nodded. "Right."

Barry and I walked over to the two hospital beds, which were now a permanent part of the room's layout, and sat down.

When Cisco came back with the heating pads Barry looked at Felicity. "Cisco, Caitlin, this is Felicity. She works with the Arrow."

Cisco grinned. "So you know who the Arrow is?" He stopped and looked from me to Barry. "Wait... does that mean you two know who the Arrow is too?"

Felicity smiled a little, though she still looked worried. "I do, but that isn't mine to share."

   Cisco frowned. "Oh. Darn."

Cisco walked over to his desk and sat down, looking at his computers. His eyes flicked from one screen to the next. He took a sucker out of a cup on his desk and opened it, sucking on it thoughtfully as he worked.

"Whatcha doing?" I asked, partly wishing I could go peek over his shoulder, but mostly wanting to stay sitting on the heating pads.

Cisco made a loud slurp around his sucker. "Sorry. I'm just looking at maps."

Felicity sat down between Barry and I. "So what did you do?"

Barry smiled. "We went up against someone with a cold gun. Good times."

Caitlin gasped. "Cisco! We left the cold gun at the tracks!"

   Cisco looked up. "Really?"

"Yes! We were so worried about Barry and Skye that we forgot to grab it."

"We have to go back for it," I said, pushing myself up. "I'm mostly heated up, I can grab it and be back in less than a minute."

"Tempting, but no," Cisco said. "You need to heat up completely..." He trailed off staring at his screen. "Scratch that. You two need to stop the Weather Wizard. He's just outside the city. Joe's there with Eddie."

I leaped up. "Sure thing Captain Gizmo."

Barry and I shot out of the Cortex. We reached the edge of the city before I realized I didn't know where we were going.

"Cisco? Are we going the right way?" I asked.

Dr. Wells answered me. "Yes you are. Watch for a tornado and go there."

"A tornado?" Barry asked. "How do we stop a tornado?"

"Barry focus!" I shouted over the wind. "This way!"

I'd seen the tornado Dr. Wells had said to watch for. I ran toward it and saw large chunks of roof and boards flying through the air.

Eddie and Joe were sitting with their backs to a police car. A chunk of metal roofing that was larger than most of the others was flying toward them. I exchanged a glace with Barry. He nodded and we both shot forward with a crackle of static. We both leaped at exactly the same moment, grabbing the piece of roof and getting it further from them.

The roof landed on top of us instead, but Barry shoved it away before we could be crushed. Joe stared at us as Barry helped me up.

There was still a thin layer of ice on his back that was melting slowly. I brushed it off and it shattered on the grass.

"I've got it!" Cisco shouted in my ear. "If you run the opposite way the tornado is spinning, you might be able to destroy it."

"Got it," Barry said. "After you sister."

I grinned and ran forward. I felt like I was running through syrup. Each step was a struggle to gain momentum. Barry ran behind me. The lightning from us mixed together in green-gold vines.

"It's to much!" I told Cisco.

"You can do it Skye, Barry," Dr. Wells said. "We believe in you. So run you two. RUN!"

I took a deep breath and pushed harder. Something snapped and I tumbled forward in my sudden burst of unstopped speed. Barry landed on top of me with an 'oomph!'.

Barry got up and pulled me up as well.

   "Barry? Skye?" Caitlin asked tensely.

Barry and I stood panting for several seconds before Barry answered. "We're good. It's done."

I turned around to see Weather Wizard getting shakily to his feet. There was a bang from behind me and I turned again. Joe had his gun pointed at Weather Wizard. I nodded to him then tapped Barry's shoulder. "We should go."

Barry nodded and picked me up. He started running toward S.T.A.R. Labs.

"I can walk!" I objected when he set me down next to Cisco.

"I know, but that doesn't stop me from carrying you," Barry said.

I gave him a glare. Cisco tapped my arm. "Look at this." He held up a black backpack.

I frowned. "Nice backpack... It's not a backpack is it?"

"Not exactly," Cisco grinned. "I built it while you and Barry were gone-"

   Barry laughed. "That fast?"

Dr. Wells started driving toward the door. "He started it a while ago. He just finished it tonight."

Cisco's grin didn't look like it could get any bigger. "It's wings!"

   Felicity frowned. "Will they work?"

"Of course! There is no way they could possibly fail."

"Test them with us around anyway," I said. "If they do somehow fail, we could catch you."

   Cisco grinned. "Tomorrow then!"

I smiled. Cisco's enthusiasm about his inventions was amazing. He always said they would work first shot. Most of the time he was right, some of the time he wasn't. I just hoped that this time, he would be right.
