Part 3
Everyone was asleep when he got home.
Jungkook took off his shoes and tiptoed straight to the bathroom.
The clothes he was wearing stuck to his body and his feet left marks on the floor.
The sermon that her father had given him still echoed in his ears.
'Mr. Jeon, your behavior is inexcusable... I would have thrown you off the team before you even put your foot on the gas pedal...But I see potential in you...."
Jungkook closed the door to the bathroom and took a hot shower...
His thoughts circled around Kim Y/n...the girl he saved from doing something stupid.
She always seemed confident, strong in the photos in the tabloids....
He sighed, how desperate she seemed to be?
After the shower he went to his room, changed his clothes ... when there was a knock on his door....
"Come in!" he said quietly and his mother came in.
"Hey!" she smiled "I couldn't sleep because I was curious how it went!"
"Wet!" replied Jungkook, rubbing his hair dry with a towel.
His mother looked at him questioningly. "Explanation?"
Jungkook sat down next to his mother on his bed and looked at her.
"What happened, son?" she cupped his cheek.
"Eomma... ! I saw her jump, thought she was crazy and reappeared, but she didn't!"
"She?"
"Kim Y/n! The daughter of....!"
"Yes, I know who she is, what happened?"
"She didn't want to come back out of the water, I jumped in and pulled her out!"
His mother hugged him..." You did everything right! Rich people are sometimes a bit strange!"
His mother released her embrace and looked at him. " A little advice! Don't get involved in anyone's problems. Jungkook I know you! Don't get involved." She gave him a kiss on hus cheek and left.
Jungkook lay down with a sigh.
He couldn't stop thinking about Y/n. He couldn't rest knowing that she wanted to end her life.
At some point, he fell asleep and from then on, nothing seemed the same.
The next morning dawned and Jungkook was rudely awakened.
He felt the full weight of his little sister on his legs.
"Wake up!" she demanded and threw the newspaper onto his chest.
"Bora!" Jungkook replied sleepily.
"You're in Oppa!" Bora slipped off his legs and crawled under his blanket, resting her head on his chest.
"Hmmm! I ..know...I was there!" Jungkook was still tired . He would have loved to kick his sister out of his bed, but he loved her too much .
"Take me with you Jungkook!" she whispered " I really want to race like you!"
"You're too young! You know that!" he replied.
" fifteen oppa fifteen and when training starts in spring I'll be sixteen!"
"Still too young!"
"Oh come on!" she slapped his chest gently.
Jungkook threw his blanket aside and stood up.
"No discussion little sister."
Bora huffed ...
"And?" she said.
"And what?" Jungkook asked back.
"Have you seen her?" Bora slid next to her brother. "Or should I tell Eomma and Appa that you're secretly in love with Kim Y/n!" she grinned.
Jungkook looked at her confused...
"Oh come on...!" she laughed, getting up and opening his night drawer.
"Jeon Jungkook! You collect every newspaper article of hers!"
"Get out of my room Jeon Bora!" Jungkook grabbed his sister's arm and pulled her out into the hallway.
Bora grinned " What's wrong? Did I hit the spot?"
"You!" he pulled her around to face him "...didn't hit anything okay!"
"Is she really as pretty as in the photos?" Bora smiled.
Jungkook let go of his little sister and cleared his throat. "Prettier!" he whispered and winked.
"Were you able to talk to her?" whispered Bora .
"You ask too many questions, sis!" whispered Jungkook.
Bora pouted... "Please take me with you . Please Jungkook!"
Jungkook sighed and shook his head and went back to his room.
He sat on his bed and took a newspaper article of Y/n from his Night Drawer.
' Kim Y/n engaged to Yu Junseo the son of her father's investor. Is it just a business relationship or is it real love '
Kim Y/n seemed anything but happy yesterday he thought.
Bora was right. He had been attracted to Y/n since the first time he saw her.
She was sitting in her father's office when Jungkook signed the contract for a career in her father's racing team.
No one seemed to notice her, but he did. He saw her. How beautiful and yet so unapproachable she was.
He knew he would never have a chance with a girl like Kim Y/n and especially not after their engagement was announced.
Jungkook didn't come from a rich family like her.
His parents work hard for their money and it's just enough to pay all the bills.
"Jungkook?" he jumped when his mother spoke to him.
"Didn't you hear me knocking?" she asked him.
He stuffed the newspaper article back into the night drawer and closed it.
"Sorry Eomma!"
"Breakfast is on the table. Please don't forget to get the fish from the market hall." She smiled.
"I have to go to the first meeting at the racing stable first, then I'm all yours!" Jungkook stood up and hugged his mother.
"Oh! Before I forget, please take your sister with you!"
"Eomma? I can't just...!"
"She can wait for you in the car. I don't want her lurking around outside. " She padded his chest.
Jungkook never disagreed with his parents but today he didn't want to take care of his 15-year-old sister.
"Can't you just take her to the restaurant?"
As always, his mother said goodbye with a kiss on his cheek.
Jungkook was annoyed, he didn't want Bora to come anywhere near the racetrack because he knew how much she longed to sit in a car and step on the gas pedal herself.
He wanted to protect his little sister. She should do what girls her age do and not be interested in boys' things.
And he knew how strong-willed Bora was and would do what she wanted anyway.
....and Bora was quickly forgotten when Kim Y/n captured his thoughts again....
♡♡♡
Another one of those mornings...again this feeling of being at the mercy of everyone...
But it's different than usual.
I felt happy inside...a little...
A feeling I don't know like this.
I came into the dining room and, as usual, no one was there except the staff who were busy running back and forth.
I've been used to eating breakfast alone every morning since I was a child.
"Good morning Miss Kim."
Sona greeted me and smiled.
Sona has recently become one of our maids and is about my age.
"Sona, I've told you so many times, don't talk to me formally!" I smiled back.
She curtseyed and served me tea.
"And please... stop curtsying. No one is here. Sit with me."
"She won't do that!" I heard my mother's voice behind me. "Go back to your work Sona!"
My mother came over to the dining table and threw the newspaper on my plate and sat down.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment, then looked at me again.
"Kim Y/n. I was racking my brains yesterday, thinking back and forth about what else to do with you."
"Mom?" I frowned questioningly.
She took the paper and held it up to my eyes. Then she tapped on a photo.
I recognized my father and the new team. The photo from last night.
"You're coming towards me soaking wet and it just so happens that this guy here is soaked too." She tapped the photo in the newspaper again.
I swallowed and looked at my mother.
"Then I went back to the event location this morning and asked to see the CCTV footage and guess what?"
My feelings overwhelmed me and I felt at her mercy. Of course Jungkook didn't say anything to anyone, but how could I forget the surveillance cameras?
"You...can't...swim Y/n. So it wasn't just a quick dip in the freezing cold pool."
I didn't say a word, just stared at her.
"Listen. This isn't the first time you've tried to hurt yourself. That's why I made an appointment with Doctor Wang right away."
"Mom! I...I don't need a psychiatrist!" Tears were rolling.
"The date has been set Y/n! You're expected at Doctor Wang's this afternoon at four."
My mother got up and was about to leave the room.
"I wish Seokjin was here! Then...." I cried softly.
My mother came back and leaned over me.
"Would you behave differently if your brother was here? No Y/n...you're selfish and attention seeking. Nothing more."
"No mom."
"Your father has worked hard so that you both can live in prosperity but you are an ungrateful little spoiled brat."
She straightened up and cleared her throat.
"It's time to teach you a lesson. Your father will have you employed in a restaurant. So that you can learn the modesty of life."
I looked at my mother, who looked down at me with contempt.
"Why do you hate me so much? Why? What have I ever done to you?" I said, almost whispering and almost pleading.
My mother kept her composure as always. She didn't allow a single emotion.
"You will go to your father's office, do your work there and be at Doctor Wang's at exactly four o'clock." Then she left.
I felt just as miserable as yesterday and the days before.
I never experienced love from my mother's side. She was always cold to me.
But she loved my brother endlessly and I could feel it, I could see it.
But he loved me. My brother loved me, I was sure of that. I wished he was here. I wish he would protect me.
I reached for my phone, sobbing, and dialed my brother's number.
It took me less than two seconds to hear his voice.
"Y/nahhh... !"
"Seokjinnie!".... I miss you!"
"Are you okay, sis?"
I sniffled away my tears. " No!"
"What's wrong?"
"Mom....She wants me to see a psychologist!"
