Violet P.O.V.
Artie and I were walking to glee club together, and I was listening to him talk about how amazing Brittany is. I mean, being a fourth of the Unholy Foursome, I know how awesome Brittany is.
The fun is short lived when I see the group of guys that made Kurt transfer, led by the two biggest assholes in school: Dave Karofsky and Azimio. They were holding slushees in their hands. Uh oh.
"I was looking over my bucket list and the cripple was the only Glee loser that I haven't slusheed yet." Azimio says.
"And as a bonus, we got the fairy's girlfriend. She's never been slusheed." Karofsky sneers. If this is payback for that slap, he's about to wish he could still have kids.
Artie starts panicking as the football guys circle us. "Well, what about the moral implications of abusing a kid in a wheelchair and a girl?" He asks.
Azimio smirks. "I say, equal opportunity for all."
Just like that, Artie and I are soaking wet with red slushee. I stopped counting after the third slushee hit my head. We've just gotten the worst slushees in McKinley history. I wiped it from my eyes and looked at Artie, who was equally as shocked.
The football players left, high fiving and laughing as they walked away from us.
"Holy sweet hell!" I exclaim. The slushees were cold and were reaching to places I don't even want to talk about.
"That was the worst slushee anyone's ever gotten." Artie says. Then he frowns. "And now we have to go to glee club like this..."
I give him a small smile as I start wheeling him towards the choir room. We left red wheel tracks and footprints in the hallway. "We should warn the others when we get there. I think we've gotten the worst out of everyone." I tell him. He nods in agreement.
= = =
I wheel Artie into the choir room, and everyone looks at us with wide and unbelieving eyes. Charlie and Brittany both jump up and run to us.
"It was awful." Artie says as Brittany reaches him.
I nod. "I'm going to need about 3 showers just to wash the slushee out of my hair. Maybe 5 to get the slushee off my body." I say as Charlie gives me his letterman jacket. "Thanks Lee." I comment and he nods.
"Screw rehearsal! This ends here and now!" Finn screams. The glee guys get up to leave, but are stopped in the doorway by the same dickheads that just slusheed Artie and I.
A ginger football player — I think his name is John — walks at the front of the group. I watch from the safety of Santana and Quinn's arms. "So this is what the ladies' lounge looks like on the inside." He says.
"This is our choir room. Now put up your fists because you and I are going to do some dancing." Charlie says, ready to fight.
"No, I got this, Charlie." Finn says, pushing Charlie behind him.
Karofsky made his way to the front, and I didn't let down from my glare. This is the guy that ruined Kurt's life here at McKinley! I hate him! "Coach Beiste told us to come. Where is she?" He asks.
Coach Beiste pushed her way through the crowd of football idiots to make herself seen. Everyone had to take their seats in the choir room, and so we did... all the New Directions sat on one side of the choir room, and the football team on the other.
Mr. Shue stands next to Coach Beiste, clapping his hands. "Alright, New Directions! Let's give a warm welcome to the newest members of the glee club!"
I feel numb. I'm supposed to be in a glee club with a bunch of homophobic assholes? No way! Everyone was shouting different stuff from both ends of the room.
"Mr. Shue, these are the guys that made Kurt transfer!" Finn points to Karofsky.
Rachel nods. "And there is no way I'm sharing the choir room with a known homophobe!" She states.
"I agree with Finn and Rachel. Karofsky especially made Kurt's life a living hell here, Mr. Shue. I'm not sharing a choir room with him! I'm not doing it!" I say angrily, boring holes into Karofsky's skull.
Mr. Shue looks at the three of us specifically. "I don't disagree with you guys, but I talked to Coach Beiste about it, and she and I both agreed that the kind of bullying that David does is out of ignorance. Having him in here — as difficult as it may be for us — is an opportunity to show him and the rest of the guys that being in glee club is kind of cool — find some common ground." He says.
"All of you are going to be in this glee club for one week. No exceptions." Coach continues.
Karofsky scoffs. "She's bluffing — next week is the championship game. Without us, she has no team." He says.
"With you, I have no team. You guys have gotta find a way to come together or we're going to get our asses kicker from here until Tuesday finds a saddlebag full of buckwheat," Coach says. It didn't make sense, but at the same time it did.
Azimio scoffs. "If I have to stay, I'm not singing no show tunes. That is the music of my oppressors."
Finn and I looked at the football team. "Do you even have any idea what we do in here?" We ask.
"No. None of them do. We have to show them. Rachel, Puck, haven't you guys been working on something?" Mr. Shue asks.
My ex-sister stands up and looks to Puck. "Fine. As offended as I am by their presence here, I won't let anything get in the way of a good performance."
Rachel and Puck sing Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now,' which was pretty good. I just didn't think Rachel really needed to be singing a damn country song.
[Need You Now by Puckleberry]
After the performance, the New Directions clap for their teammates. I was also clapping.
Azimio smirks. "The girl with the Mohawk had a really nice voice." He taunts.
Puck chuckles. "Funny. Yeah, man. That's good." He says before attempting to chuck his guitar at Azimio.
Everyone starts shouting and I just look at Charlie.
Well this week's sure to be fun.

The next morning at Cheerios practice, Coach Sylvester brings us out to the football field. We see a giant cannon, and I pale a little bit.
"Ladies, my 'Sue-clear' Weapon. Becky?" Coach says. Becky runs off to get a Cheerios dummy.
Coach looks at Brittany. "Brittany... climb on up. Congratulations; you're doing this stunt for the big competition." She says.
Is. She. Crazy?
Brittany looks worried. "I don't want to die yet. At least not until One Tree Hill gets canceled."
Coach sighs. "Fine. To put your toddler fist-sized mind at ease, we'll do one final test run." She says.
She presses the button on the cannon, and the dummy explodes.
"Any of you take German? I may have to read the owner's manual." Coach says.
Brittany looks very worried, so I grab her arm. "Don't worry. I'll talk to Mr. Shue and take care of this."
Brittany gives me a hug. "You're the best, Violet."
I smile as I hug back.
"I'm just doing my job to look out for you Brittany."
= = =
I stormed into Mr. Shue's office after Cheerios practice, and I can see the shock on his face when he sees me.
"Violet? What's wrong?" He asks.
I fix my ponytail and answer.
"It's Coach Sylvester; she wants to shoot Brittany out of a cannon for our Regionals competition. Mr. Shue, Brittany will die doing that stunt."
= = =
As Cheerios in glee club, Quinn, Santana, Brittany and I had to choose between Cheerios or glee club. This wasn't fair! I wanted to do the halftime show — we're doing a mashup of 'Thriller' and 'Heads Will Roll.'
We were in the bathroom, trying to get our zombie makeup off after Zombie Camp. I have to say, we look like four hot zombies.
Brittany smiles. "Zombie Camp was funner than I expected. And the glee club together with the football team — it's like a double rainbow. A zombie double rainbow." She says.
For once, Brittany's right.
Quinn sighs. "What the hell are we gonna do? If we go to our cheerleading competition, then we miss the halftime show, and we're out of glee club. I'm torn." She says.
"I'm not." Santana comments.
"Neither am I." I tell. Hey, they don't know what I'm gonna do.
"I'm Brittany." Brittany states.
Just then, Coach Sylvester comes out of a bathroom stall.
"Couldn't help but overhear your conversation." She says.
"What were you doing in there?" I ask.
"Enjoying the eavesdropping afforded me by the Swiss-timepiece regularity and utter silence of my 2:00 p.m. ninja poops. Well, I typed these up for you ladies, requiring your signature, tendering your resignation from the Glee Club." Coach says as she hands us resignation forms to quit glee club.
"Oh, and Brittany, here's a note for you, handwritten and in crayon from the Human Cannon, saying how much it misses you." Coach says as she hands Brittany a handwritten crayon note.
"Coach Sylvester, that cannon is going to get Brittany killed!" I exclaim.
"Is that really worth it just to win a stupid
National Championship?" Quinn adds on.
"Seventh consecutive stupid
National Championship." Coach corrects.
"This is ridiculous." Quinn says.
"You had quite a year last year, Q. And as I recall, you didn't have such a good time out of that Cheerios uniform." Coach reminds. We're all quiet.
"Ladies, I am giving you the chance, right now, to choose once and for all where your true loyalties lie. Choose the Cheerios, or choose the Glee Club." Coach says and walks out of the bathroom.
I know what my decision is.
= = =
I walk into Coach Sylvester's office and I hand her my Cheerios uniform. "I quit." I say.
"You can't quit the Cheerios, Violet!" She says as she stands up.
I smirk.
"Guess what? I just did."
= = =
(My Outfit)
I walked into the choir room, which caught the attention of everyone. I don't think they're used to seeing me without my Cheerios uniform on.
I smile as Charlie hugs me, and the rest of New Directions follows. "We're so glad you decided to stay with us Violet." Mr. Shue says.
I smile. "I'm glad to be home where I belong."
= = =
That afternoon at Zombie Camp, the New Directions boys and the football team are rehearsing 'She's Not There.'
[She's Not There by New Directions boys and football team]
I have to admit, I'm kinda sad that Quinn, Brittany, and Santana decided to quit glee club. But they're my girls, and I understand. They were in Cheerios long before glee club, so even though I'm not happy about it, I'm supportive.
I cheer for the glee guys on their performance. I won't look at the football team.
After what they've done to Kurt, they're lucky I'm nice enough not to neuter them all.
I'm not kidding.
= = =
I turn the corner just in time to see the hockey team slushee the football team. The leader, Rick Nelson, smirks. "Oh Karofsky, I'm not gonna slushee you. Someone wanted that privilege all to themselves." He says.
I walk up and take the slushee. Karofsky looks at me with wide eyes. "Are you seriously going to slushee me? After all the progress that's been made this week?" He asks.
I'm silent for a few minutes before I toss the slushee in his face. He looks dazed, and I can see Charlie is smirking out of the corner of my eye.
"You and the team might've been making progress with the rest of the glee club, but I will never forgive you for what you've done. That was for Kurt, you little bitch." I sneer before I turn on my heels and walk away.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
= = =
I'm at the Lima Bean with Kurt, Blaine, Charlie, Mercedes and Rachel. We're getting Kurt up to speed on what's gone down in glee club this week.
"So you quit the Cheerios?" Kurt asks.
I nod as I hold his hand. "I'm not gonna let Sue Sylvester take advantage of Brittany's innocence. I'm not gonna watch her die. I did the right thing." I explain.
Kurt smiles and kisses my cheek. "You are so strong and brave." He says, making me blush.
"Did you know she slusheed Karofsky?" Mercedes asks.
Kurt looks at me with wide eyes. "You did what?"
"I always wanted to get back at him for making you leave. Then when he drenched Artie and I in slushee, that was the breaking point. It was nice enough of Rick Nelson to let me slushee the bastard." I say.
No one says anything until Charlie speaks up.
"I'm proud of her. You should be too, Kurt. All the guys in glee have named Violet the biggest badass of the New Directions." Charlie says.
Kurt smiles. "Just promise me you won't slushee anyone else." He says.
I kiss his lips. They taste like his coffee order. "I promise." I say.
Everyone else begins to talk about our football problem, but I'm more interested in my sexy boyfriend right now. This is the first time I've seen him outside of the house all week!
"So you and Blaine are coming to the game, right? You've got to see our halftime show!" I proclaim softly.
Kurt chuckles. "Of course we're coming. But how are you going to do a halftime show with no Cheerios?" He asks.
I smirk. "I told Mr. Shue about my extra uniform I gave Coach Sylvester. My original one is still red from the slushee. A little bit of roughing up, and it'll be perfect for a dirty, bloody zombie cheerleader." I explain.
Kurt kisses my cheek. "You're always two steps ahead." He says.
I smile as he kisses my nose.
"Thank you. But don't tell Rachel that. It might blow up her ego more than it already is."

(My Outfit)
I was in the bathroom before glee club practice the next day. I was getting ready to leave when I got stopped by the other 3/4 of the Unholy Foursome.
"What the hell Violet? You quit the Cheerios?" Quinn asks.
"Yeah. I wasn't gonna watch Brittany die. Besides... I'd rather be in glee club with people that care about me than be in Cheerios with a coach that doesn't care who dies doing a stunt." I say softly.
"But you can't break up the Unholy Foursome. That's like breaking up the Avengers or the Justice League." Santana says.
"Lord Tubbington told me he wants you to rejoin the Cheerios because he wants to sell your Cheerios uniform on eBay." Brittany states.
I sigh. "Girls... I love the three of you. I truly do. But this is my choice, and you just have to accept it."
Quinn looks confused. "You're going to give up being popular for glee club?"
I walk to the door and look back at my three friends.
"I'll always choose glee club."
I walk in the choir room to see everyone's happy. "I missed something while I was in the bathroom?" I ask.
"The girls are joining the football team." Charlie says.
I laugh but then I realize they're serious. "Oh. Well congratulations girls. I guess my cheerleader services are needed after all." I say.
"But you quit?" Finn says.
"I still have my slusheed uniform. I just need some help dirtying it up for the game and the halftime show. I know absolutely nothing about football — the least I can do for you guys is cheer you on." I explain.
Mike smiles as he hugs me. "The New Directions has their own cheerleader!"
I laugh as we all hug.
Championship game, here we come!
= = =
It's the night of the championship game. Kurt texted me, saying that he, Blaine and Carole got seated in the stands. I'm on the sidelines, watching the football team walk out.
Here's the New Directions and their jersey numbers:
#5 - Finn Hudson
#6 - Sam Evans
#7 - Charlie Dean
#20 - Noah Puckerman
#22 - Mike Chang
#75 - Artie Abrams
#83 - Rachel Berry
#43 - Lauren Zizes
#67 - Tina Cohen-Chang
#77 - Mercedes Jones
I smile as I wave my pom-poms in the air. "Go Titans, go! We are the best! If you think otherwise, we'll put you to rest! Go Titans!" I cheer.
Hey, I don't make the cheers, Sue does.
Everyone huddles on the field, except for Artie. He's sitting next to Coach Beiste and Mr. Shue.
I look to the coach and our director. "Hey Mr. Shue, Coach Beiste... is this zombified enough?" I ask, referring to my uniform. It's ripped, dirty, and still red from the slushee.
They both look over with a smile. "It looks great Violet." Mr. Shue says.
Coach Beiste nods. "Maybe you should get the crowd to cheer with you." She suggests. I nod and take one of Coach Sylvester's many bullhorns I stole from her office.
"McKinley Titans, my name is Violet, and I'm a cheerleader. I need your help to get our team pumped up." I shout into the bullhorn. I can clearly see Blaine, Kurt and Carole in the middle of the crowd.
"You have to cheer with me because I'm just one cheerleader. Are you guys ready to cheer our team on?" I ask. The crowd roars in cheers.
"Okay. Here's the cheer: Go Titans, go! We are the best! If you think otherwise, we'll put you to rest! Think you guys can handle it?" I tell the crowd. They cheer again.
"5, 6, 7, 8!" I call. I hear over a hundred voices chanting 'Go Titans, go! We are the best! If you think otherwise, we'll put you to rest!'
Well that went well.
= = =
It's now almost halfway through the game. We're not doing so hot football-wise. I see Finn talk to Sam, and then Finn walks up to me. "I need you to come with me." He says.
"Why?" I ask.
"You're the only one who can get through to Quinn, Brittany, and Santana. I need you to help me get them back. Please? For your favorite best friend?" He asks.
I laugh. "Hudson you're not my favorite best friend. Quinn and Charlie are my favorite best friends. But you're like third place." I say. He pouts. "But I will help you get the girls back." I say.
He hugs me.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"Finley Christopher Hudson put me down this instant! You're crushing my ribs!"
"Sorry!"
"It's okay Frankenteen."
= = =
We run to the bus area, where the Cheerios are boarding the bus for their Regionals competition.
"Q, Britt, San! Wait!" I call. The three mentioned turn their heads to see Finn and I running to them.
"Are you two crazy?" Quinn asks.
"Yes, that's why we're best friends." I answer.
"What are you doing here?" Quinn asks us.
"Stopping you from going to Sue's Regionals competition." I reply.
"You guys got to come to the game with me and Violet." Finn says.
"Haven't you two been paying attention? If we're not Cheerios!, we're nothing." Quinn says sharply.
"You think that, but it's not true." I say.
"You joined Cheerios to be popular, but you joined Glee Club because you loved it." Finn finishes.
"Sue doesn't care about you guys. She's fine killing Brittany." I explain.
Finn takes his turn to talk. "Tell me honestly. If you didn't think it would hurt your reputation, which would you choose?" He asks.
"Glee Club." Brittany answers softly.
Finn looks to his ex-girlfriend. "I know you, and you don't think you are, but you're strong enough to do this." He says.
Quinn smiles. "Okay."
"Now hang on a minute Fabray, I — okay?" I ask.
Quinn nods. "Okay." She says. I hug her happily.
"What about you, Santana?" Finn asks.
Santana shows off her famous bitch smirk. "Screw her — she put me on the bottom of the pyramid."
Finn smiles. "Come on, we've only got a few minutes."
Just then, Coach — no, Sue walks up. "No time for a fivesome, ladies. Bus leaves in five."
"We quit Cheerios!" Quinn says.
Sue looks appalled. "You can't quit Cheerios. It's blood in, blood out. Now get your sweet little cans on that bus." She says.
"We still quit." Santana says and we start to walk away.
"You're my stars. If you leave, I have no performance!" Sue tries.
"Sucks for you." Brittany shrugs. We all laugh and walk off with Finn to the game.
"See? No one breaks up the Unholy Foursome. Not today, not tomorrow. We're besties for life." I say and link pinkies with my girls.
"Besties for life." Quinn smiles.
"Besties for life." Santana states.
"Lord Tubbington is selling chicken livers on the black market." Brittany states.
We shrug it off and head to the football field.
Showtime!
= = =
Our mash-up of "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" begins. I don't know what Puck said to the football guys, but it worked. I didn't see Karofsky, but it's okay. We're having a blast singing and dancing like zombies.
[Thriller/Heads Will Roll by New Directions and football team]
At the end of the performance, I see my least favorite football player had actually rejoined for the dance. He walks up to me, and I give him a stone-cold glare.
"Look Violet, I'm sorry for the way I've treated you. It's not very becoming of me and I hope you can forgive me. I know I'll never earn your forgiveness for sending Kurt away, but I hope that after today, you can see that I will attempt to change." Karofsky says.
I tear my eyes away to see Kurt's figure in the stands. I look back at Karofsky, arms still crossed. "Karofsky, I still hate you for what you did to him. But... I can forgive you for what you did to me if you can forgive me for slushying you. I was just mad and I thought if you got a taste of your own medicine, you'd feel how we all feel: like losers." I explain.
He gives me a half smile and extends his hand for a handshake. "Deal," He says. I smirk and shake his hand. "Deal. But just so we're clear, this does not make us friends." I snarl.
He lets go of my hand. "Yes ma'am." He states and runs to the locker room.
I smirk.
I still got it.
= = =
Now that we have a full football team, the girls are cheering with me. Quinn and Santana think I'm crazy for dirtying my Cheerios uniform. Brittany likes it, so I think I'm good.
Everyone's still in their zombie makeup and costumes. It's totally freaking out the other team. I think we look really cool.
It's the last few minutes of the game, and the score is tied. The team keeps groaning out 'Brains,' and the girls and I do it too.
Eventually, the people in the stands are chanting 'Brains' with us. They must really want us to win this game.
The other team fumbles the ball, and Puck takes it to the end zone. Artie told me that's a touchdown. I cheer loudly.
The game is over.
The McKinley Titans have won.
= = =
At Breadstix, Coach Beiste and Mr. Shue take us out for dinner as a means of celebration. It's just the New Directions, Kurt and Blaine. Not that we're complaining.
We're all crammed into different Breadstix booths.
Booth 1: Sam, Quinn, and Santana.
Booth 2: Brittany, Artie, Tina and Mike.
Booth 3: Puck, Finn, Rachel and Lauren.
Booth 4: Mercedes, Kurt and I.
Booth 5: Blaine and Charlie.
Kurt and I are sitting together across from Mercedes.
"Oh I almost forgot: Happy birthday baby!" Kurt says.
I completely forgot that today was my 16th birthday.
All the heads of the New Directions looked at our table. Even Charlie and Blaine, who are behind us.
Mercedes's jaw drops. "Girl why didn't you tell us it was your birthday?"
I blush and shrug. "I kinda forgot. Plus, I don't usually make a big deal out of my birthday anyways. It's not that big of a deal." I say.
I think I said the wrong thing.
= = =
On Saturday, I walk into the choir room because Puck said we need to have an emergency Glee club rehearsal. What I don't understand is why I was asked to put on my favorite red dress. I walk in to see the New Directions and Kurt and Blaine with food, decorations, and a table full of gifts.
(My Outfit)
"What on earth is this?" I ask.
"It's your sweet 16 party. Duh." Santana says with a smile. Not a sinister smile, but a genuine smile.
"But my birthday was yesterday." I say confused.
"Doesn't matter. You still deserve a party." Finn says, pulling out a small tiara. "You're the birthday princess."
I smile and hug him, though it's a little hard because he's so tall and I'm so short. "This is so sweet you guys."
Blaine smiles as he hugs me. "Well we don't get all the credit. The idea for the party was all Kurt and Rachel." He says.
I look to my boyfriend with a sweet smile. However, I don't know why Rachel would throw me a party.
Kurt walks up to me and kisses me. "Do you like your surprise?" He asks.
I nod. "I love it. Thank you so much!" I say and hug him. He hugs me back.
"I love you." He whispers in my ear.
I reward him with a smile. "I love you too."
Everything's going swimmingly until Rachel walks up to me. "Happy birthday Violet." She says.
I nod. "Thanks Rachel. It's kind of surprising, actually. Did you really help with this birthday party?" I ask.
She nods. "I wanted to do something. I've been doing a lot of thinking since Finn and I broke up, and I see that I wasn't very nice to you."
I bite back a bitter laugh. "That's an understatement." I mumble under my breath.
"I was hoping that maybe by me helping out with your party, that maybe we could... I don't know, try and move on?" Rachel asks.
I laugh and put a hand up to her. "Listen Rachel. I appreciate what you're trying to do. I really do, but you're about 11 years too late. You've done nothing but make my life miserable, and now you have an epiphany and think I'll just forget about it? No." I say. She looks like she might cry.
"If you really want me to somewhat forgive you, you need to show me you can change. Lately, I haven't seen that you can. But I'll make you a deal: if you show me that you can try to change by Regionals, I'll consider being your friend. I won't go back to being your sister, but we could be friends if that's something you want." I say and stick my hand out to her.
Rachel contemplates but she shakes my hand. "Deal." She says and walks off.
What the hell did I just agree to?
