Chapter 5 - Disappearance Again

Error's POV

Martina and I stood in front of her dorm house. I smiled when the tanned female human turned to me.

Martina: Thanks for walking me home, Error. The other girls will squeal about this.

She said as she motioned towards the big building.

Me: No problem, Martina.

Martina: Goodnight.

Martina said before kissing my cheek, leaving a lipstick print. She giggled and then walked through the door. I wiped off the lipstick before beginning to walk home.

I thought about our date. Strangely, I didn't exactly feel anything romantic for Martina. Although it's probably because we're still the very early stages of a relationship.

I eventually arrived at the dorm house for males. Looking up, I found the window of mine and Ink's dorm. It was dark, meaning Ink was most likely asleep already.

After about a few minutes of climbing several sets of stairs, I was standing at the door of my small home. I was hesitant because I didn't want to make any noise. My hand gently gripped the handle before slowly turning it.

(Time Skip)

I pushed myself up from my bed to officially wake up. Looking at Ink's side of the dorm, I prepared to wake him up. However, something was wrong. He was gone... again.

'God dammit, Ink.'

Standing up, I searched the room. I saw that Ink's phone was missing as well. I looked to my right, noticing his school supplies seemed to have disappeared along with my artistic roommate.

Me: Ink must have headed to class already.

I rushed to gather my stuff and head out. Every time Ink was not near me, I would worry. He didn't have the ability to scream for help if he was in trouble.

My feet passed the entrance barrier of the college campus. The amount of the students increased as they all walked along paths to get to class or eat breakfast.

The first place that I wanted to check was the coffee shop, located near the building for Refined Arts. A small breath of relief escaped when I spotted Ink through a window.

A small bell rang as the door of the café was pushed open. Some students stared at me but eventually went back to their own thing.

I stood at the table that Ink was sitting at. He looked up when he caught me from the corner of his eye. For some reason, he didn't wave like he normally did. This caused me to sit across from him with a worried expression.

Me: Are you okay, Ink? You've been acting differently. Is something wrong?

Ink: "Everything is fine."

I raised my hands and began signing back to him. Ink didn't expect me to start talking sign language.

Me: "That's a lie. You have disappeared more than once in the past two days. Clearly something is wrong."

  Ink was silent before responding.

Ink: "I just haven't been getting enough sleep lately. I guess that is taking a toll on my behavior. Sorry."

He awkwardly smiled and blushed rainbow. In the back of my mind, it felt like I knew he was lying but didn't suspect anything.

(Time Skip)

The entire time at the café was unfamiliar, to say the least. I remember always laughing about something when I was drinking coffee with Ink. But... look where we are. Ink is the one that isn't talking and I'm the one desperately trying to get him to say something.

My eyes moved up to stare at Ink. He was holding his brown scarf while staring at his phone. Occasionally he would take a sip from his iced mocha but he was mostly quiet... for mute standards.

Then two hours passed. Ink and I had to splint paths because one of our classes didn't match up.

I was in coding class, trying to figure out how to fix my mysterious mistake. It was proving to be more difficult than expected as my mind was somewhat thinking about something else.

I couldn't stop thinking about Ink and his sudden change in behavior. Usually we were always together but now, it almost feels like...

He's avoiding me
