23 years after that incident

Rani was standing silently in front of her father's photo. Today is the most special day for her. She should be happy but now tears can be noticed in her eyes. Her reverie was broken up by a sound.

-"Rani, you should be getting available quickly. It is the first day of your job. "

Rani chuckled softly and answered -"yes mom, just coming."

She wiped her eyes and went to her room. Her mother was doing stuff in her room, she again told her to hurry.

Rani:-Mom, I have a question. Can I ask?

Ananya stopped doing her work and stepped towards her.

Ananya:-What happened my princess?

Rani:- I know that Ray uncle killed my father. But, was he really a criminal?

Ananya became stunned to hear this. She saw in Rani's eyes, they had various expressions! She unable to answer her question, she remained silent.
-"No"!!!

A sound distracted the mom and daughter which came from the door. They saw Anushka was standing there.

Anushka:-No! Ray was not a criminal. He was a victim.

Her eyes met with Ananya's eyes. Ananya was expressionless. Anushka continued to tell.

Anushka:-We all are victims! You know Rani, when Dev was going to marry, our neighbors asked me, why did I not marry earlier than him!
After that, when your mother came to this house, people asked us that why we did not take any dowry on behalf of the girl! Therefore, when you came to the Earth, they considered you a burden. So far, only girls have been questioned; every time, everywhere!
But it is not the whole story! It's just the tip of the iceberg.
Till today, girls cannot stay out of the house fearlessly until late at the night. But on the contrary, some girls are taking advantage of the law to push innocent and honest people to their deaths.
Ray was a good person by heart. The corruption killed his goodness and made him a cruel killer.
Firstly, his adoptive father was not a rapist, he was completely innocent. Then, society used to treat Ray like a criminal which had broken him from the core of his heart. Because of some corrupted people, he ruined his own life!

Anushka stopped. There was pin-drop silence in the room. Then, Ananya told Rani to get ready. Rani went from there. After ten minutes, she came out of the changing room. A car stopped in front of the house. Rani came near her father's photo and bowed.

Rani:-Dad, I don't know where are you now but I know you are proud of me. See, today I am the DM of this city! I did it, dad, I overcame every challenge. Bless me that I may succeed in my work.

Then she went to her mother. She hugged her and blessed her. Anushka kissed her forehead and wished her well.

Rani stepped out of the house. A constable saluted her and opened the door of the car. She smiled and got into the car - Rani Kumar, the new District Magistrate of Mumbai.

We Indians have the largest constitution in the World. Many sections, sub-sections have made this constitution more complicated. It provides for the punishment of every crime. Despite this, the crime rate in this country is 3.08 (per 100K population).

In this story, Ray, Ashok, Dev, Anushka, Ananya -anyone of them is not a criminal, they are the victim of the so-called society. They couldn't get any peacefulness in their life! We all can somehow relate to them! They live among us!

We call our country mother. In that India, girls are oppressed every day. Crimes like rape and domestic violence are on the rise. It's the 21st century, till now, a girl has to die because she wanted to do a job outside of the house!!

A criminal's child doesn't need to be a criminal only. He /she can be a good person in the future. So please, don't treat them like a criminal.
