My eyes traverse to the sunrise
to find another dawn;
another battle of survival
against the odds sown.

So purely the dawn of determination
to break surface and not drown,
today is the day of triumph;
of standing up and not staying down.

This is my ode to the world
of how to defeat the odds
and not succumb to crowns.

This is my triumph to everyone
who made me believe that I was meant
to be no more than a pawn.
