Chapter 3
The man in the long black trench coat walked into the lab making everyone go silent.
"My name is Nick Fury, forgot to introduce myself in there. I'm also the director of SHIELD. These are the Avengers who will be watching as we test your abilities." The man said and she nodded as she pulled out the knife that was pressed against her chest.
Spectra looked at it and sighed. The last time she used it had been when she lost herself and earned the name Spectra. She put it back where it should be and looked at her hands.
"Spectra!" Tony called and she snapped back to reality.
Spectra glared at him and he immediately shrunk back.
Stark wanted to know who she was. That's what he does, he's curious. "Curiosity killed the cat." Spectra muttered as Tony walked back to his chair and sat down quietly.
Spectra rolled her eyes and looked over through the weapons again.
"Choose the weapon you used more comfortable with. Then you'll be fighting Clint." Fury said and she nodded silently.
Immediately she picked up four knives, watching as Clint switched out the quiver on his back for the quiver on the table.
Clint walked into the ring and Spectra followed closely.
Barton put the quiver over his shoulder and cocked an arrow on the bow.
The lights dimmed in the ring and everyone else walked to a viewing room.
Everyone sat down as they watched as the two people get ready to fight.
"There are sensors on the weapons to tell if you get hit and who attacked. If you get hit the match ends. Oh, and you will be in darkness, all the lights will be off. Good luck." Fury said and after he clicked off the intercom the room fell into darkness.
Silence surrounded the two in the ring and Spectra smirked.
She silently kneeled down and an arrow whizzed by over her head. "Hawkeye. Miss." An unbodied voice said, JARVIS.
Hawkeye looked around and tried to see a figure in the dark. He strained to hear one sound that could help him in finding her.
Spectra closed her eyes and lowered her hood. After a second she opened her eyes and kicked out her leg and connected with Hawkeye's shin making him grunt and aim another arrow and she immediately rolled to the side and stood up quickly. He aimed another arrow down where the impact came from.
"Hawkeye. Miss."
In the moment that the voice had said miss, Spectra was already on her feet and figuring out what to do next.
Clint started to get frustrated as he kept missing. He heard things but she was never there when he shot.
Spectra now had a plan and was standing behind him, watching him struggle to find her.She silently took out one of the dull knives and smirked, knowing she was going to beat him.
Spectra slowly and silently put a dagger on his throat and followed the motion of slitting someones neck.
"Spectra. Hit." The voice said and she quickly pulled up her hood and sprinted to a corner of the gym before the lights came back on.
"Wait where'd she go?" Tony said standing up and running out of the observation room.
All of the Avengers looked through the gym, but no one saw anything.
Clint was very frustrated by this time. He had been beat and he didn't hear one thing. As soon as possible she had let go of him and run off. He turned around and looked around the room while people were mumbling amongst each other while looking for Spectra.
Spectra moved for one second, to move her hair out of her face. That one small movement caught Clint's eye. He aimed an arrow in her direction and let it go. She grunted softly when it hit her in the shoulder.
"Hawkeye. Hit." The voice said causing everyone to look in Clint's direction as he stormed up to Spectra's hiding place.
"How did you do that?" He asked causing her to freeze. She didn't move and didn't say anything, to make him think she wasn't there.
Having none of it, he pulled her up by her arm to make her almost eye level with him.
"How did you do that?" He asked again and she just looked up at him. "And why won't you look at us in the eye? Also, why? Just why are you Spectra?" He asked and shook her more and more with each question he asked. Everyone just watching, seeing if this would get answers out of her.
"I am looking at your eyes you just can't see mine, and that's just fine for me. I call myself Spectra because no one knows who I am and that's how I'd like to keep it. The people who I kind of lived with also thought the name suited me because of my...abilities, so it stuck." Spectra snapped and pulled her arm out of his grip. "You do not need to know me." She hissed before walking out of the gym, ignoring the calls for her to come back.
Natasha had been watching, she knew that Clint had only been curious and frustrated because he was way off in every hit. She groaned a little as Spectra walked out of the gym before running to catch up with her.
"Spectra." Natasha called causing Spectra to stop and turn around.
"What is with you guys and wanting me to come back and talk it out?! I don't talk to people like you!" Spectra yelled and looked at Natasha. She was taken back that it was her, it was Natasha, the girl that she needed to find from the beginning.
"Interrogation room 1, exactly to your left. Go in and wait for me now." Natasha said a little to calmly. Spectra paused, considered running away before turning and walking into the room to her left.
Spectra slammed the door open, she was more frustrated than she has been in awhile.
"Sit down and we'll start with where you're from." Natasha said as she walked in and closed the door behind her.
"You should know that." Spectra said and sat down. She leaned back and smirked slightly looking at her under her hood. Natasha sat down across from her and looked at her.
"It wasn't in your file." Natasha said and Andy shrugged.
"You should still know." Spectra explained and watched Natasha's face, trying to figure out who Spectra really was.
"I'm supposed to know where you're from? I don't know where you were born, what high school, if you went to college. I have no idea about anything in your life and you're making me guess where you're from?" Natasha asked raising an eyebrow and sighing.
"You don't have to know everything about me. You know this place well, just think." Spectra said leaning forward, trying to lead Natasha to the answer she was looking for.
"If I would see your face it would help me." Natasha suggested and Spectra laughed.
"I'm not going to do that Nat." Spectra smirked.
"How do you know my name?" Natasha asked, standing up, not comfortable anymore.
"We met before. You don't know my voice? My hair color? My skills?" Spectra asked and watched clarity wash over Natasha's face.
"You're Andrea? From the...red room right?" Natasha asked and the girl across from her cringed just slightly at the mention of her full name and that horrible place.
"I prefer Andy now." Spectra said and looked at Natasha as she didn't respond for a minute.
"I'll be right back." Natasha muttered as she hurried out.
Spectra put her feet up on the table and sighed, waiting for Natasha to come back. She found Natasha, but now what was she going to do? How is she going to tell her that the reason why she was in New York was to find her and kill everyone involved in stealing her innocence and killing the person she was and creating a monster?
