▫️12 - guess who's baccTM▫️
Disappearing for a week and forgetting to mention it in my status?? In my book?? It's just as likely as you think
But yea I'm back now!! Hecc yea!! Time to ramble for years bc I have a ton of stories –
Since I never officially said it, I guess I should mention where I went,, a cruise in the Caribbean!! I went to the Grand Cayman, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçua, as well as Miami and Key West, which weren't technically new but I was really young when I saw them before
I'll be organizing these under dumb headers cause I,, am dumb
Damn I love my sibs
Besides my parents, I went with my sister, brother-in-law and brother, I love all of them so much like wow
In fact, since I do this with everyone, I should really give them code names cause saying their relation to me gets too clunky,,, hm,, okay got it
Sister – Manta, cause her middle name is Rey and it's ironic, I'll explain once I get to a certain story
Brother – Cobalt bc again I'll mention later but can we not do my chem homework on vacation pls
Brother-in-law – Panda, that's always been our inside joke
Two are animals yeet, consistency what's that
We have so many dumb inside jokes!! I won't mention all of them but at one point when Cobalt and my parents and I were out walking in Bonaire, we saw this one sign,, I didn't get a picture but it looked like this
I'm sure this isn't an exact translation but google translate said this means pay attention! speed bumps [probably just means watch out for the damn speed bumps] in Dutch and we made it so funny,, I can't say this out loud without snorting
The exclamation point just makes it for me, plus we started replacing anything that's a noun with drempel ['can you grab me a drempel?' 'we can meet by the drempels'] and overall this is our new inside joke, I stg I'm going to diy a sign for my door
In conclusion you should always let op when there are drempels and I love my sibs
Grand Cayman
Now we're on island time! These'll probably have less talk and more pictures
This stop was pretty cool tbh, we got to walk down about half of the seven mile beach and then we ate at this cool place called Calico Jack's, would 100% recommend if you ever happen to go there [unlikely but still] apparently there was one in Bermuda near where Manta and Panda got married so that's why we went there
Picturess
^eep you can see my sibs in these,, hopefully they don't mind
^tHERE WERE HECCIN IGUANAS IT WAS GR8
^Cobalt buried my feet lmao
Dw there won't be this many pictures for most of the islands, I just took the most for this one cause it was the first stop and whatnot
Aruba
They call it 'one happy island' and we saw a funeral while we were there
LMAO OKAY THAT WAS DARK, tbh I absolutely loved it!! We had a great time, we went to this hidden, out-of-the-way local brewery on the industrial side and then laid on one of the beaches, it was incredible,, the softest sand I've ever felt. Holy shit. I can't believe I actually got to experience a beach like that
aLSO OKAY I'M SO HAPPY BC I GOT THIS BOMBASS SWEATSHIRT AND IT'S SO SOFT I'M WEARING IT FOREVER
The lighting sucks cause I'm in an airport,, and also I never take pictures of myself so I'm highkey insecure and bad at taking them and aaaaaa aa,,,, but there it is!! It's so cozy and comfy and this perfect navy color w/ really fun stripes, god I love hoodies I'm in such a hoodie phase scrEECH
I'm wearing it rn bc airports are cold
Picspicspics
Didn't take many, wish I had more rip
Curaçao
Probably the coldest day, but that was more of a blessing than anything bc of what we did
Our first excursion!! It wasn't supposed to be but the original one got canceled so we rescheduled and,, holy shit it was so great!
We got to::
- swim with these friendly, giant stingrays [barbs clipped routinely and humanely] that knew patrons came with food so they were all over you
- feed two types of sharks while in the water, lemon sharks and nurse sharks, through these holes in a wall to another section
THE STINGRAYS,, MY HEART,,,,, THEY WERE LIKE PUPPIES, their undersides had to be the softest thing I've ever felt, they'd go up and hug you or just brush past your leg and it was great
Manta hated them lol, which is the irony [ik manta rays and stingrays aren't really synonymous but it sounded better]
Manta, before getting in:: look, I'm sure I'll be glad later, but I'm just not excited to get molested by the stingrays
Me:: we're not gonna be molested by the stingrays. We're,, gonna be consensually cuddled by them
Lmao she's normally super adventurous and up for anything but she's also really stubborn,, when we were feeding the sharks she squeaked and we have it on video
sPEAKING OF WHICH the sharks were!! The shit!! For the lemon sharks we'd go up and poke a fish into the hole, and they'd swoop in and just nOM, fish gone, teeth anger, it was amazing
The nurse sharks worked a little differently, they were bottom feeders [no jokes pls] and they sucked up the fish through the hole, you'd dangle like an inch of fish by it and within seconds they'd just vacuum clean up that bitch
The whole experience was so amazing,, afterwards we saw the aquarium there and walked around the town, I also had a sip of Manta's blue curaçao [and a lot of drinks lmao, don't drink chirren]
Picture timee
^okay so the joke there is that dushi means about a million different things, it's great
^mY FAMILY AGAIN OOPS, well two of them are, it wasn't that rainy but Aes Umbrellas
Bonaire
wE WENT GLASS BOTTOM KAYAKING AND SNORKELING AND IT WAS A M A Z I N G
We partnered up by weight and since I somehow weigh the least, I went with Cobalt, he's a big stronk manTM
I expected the kayaking to be the most fun, and I mean it was, but snorkeling?? SO MANY FISH! More than I've ever seen snorkeling! There were these humongous red and silvery ones with super cool scales, longer than a foot [or around half a meter for you sane people] and littler ones that looked like heccin gay holo they were so rainbow and tiny ones that were black with glowing blue spots and long snoot ones that I called Long Bois and even a pufferfish at one point and so, many, more, god it was so great
The people who organized the excursion were so nice too,, o and it's another inside joke explanation!! There it are!! See there was this really obnoxious lady, some people had trouble figuring out what had happened to the excursion they reserved at first [they were very keen on seeing mangroves?? How do you mix that up?? They were cool though] and she kept bitching about how we needed to hurry up bUT THEN
When we arrived at the beach where we snorkeled she just,, flopped out of the kayak, she didn't make any effort to stand up whatsoever, I think it's worth mentioning that she was a typical fat American tourist so the only thing keeping her afloat was her life jacket
Eventually the poor, super patient workers had to literally drag her in, on the way back she rode with one of them instead of her friend and she?? Didn't do a thing?? She didn't even paddle, she just lAYED HER HEAD IN HIS LAP like a creep, he didn't speak much English but I'm sure the poor guy would've gotten out of it if he did
And then when we pulled back in near the ship at the end she did the same things, and had to be dragged in again, and apparently hurt herself on some coral, which,, look, I'd normally never want others to be in pain, but that was beautiful karma
We imitate her by flopping back in our seats and sprawling around and call it being one with the coral, whenever a conversation with my nerdyass family turned to flying or chemistry that was our joke way of saying 'kill me now'
Anyway I have no pictures bc that's pretty much all we wAIT ALSO
We went on a walk and saw wild parakeets!! Here's a screenshot from the video bc me?? Think to take a picture?? Lmao no
Yellow boi
Key West
Like I said, I'd already been there when I was younger, but it was really cool to see it again! It's very Florida there, as in buckets of sweat and all the heat of AZ with none of the dry, but totally worth it, even the touristiest of things are fun [I mean where else can you find tourist shops with hats with 3d boobs and dicks on them and not blink an eye? Probably other places but still]
The main thing we saw was Ernest Hemingway's house, which is why there won't be pictures for this one bc,, holy shit,,,,, in case you don't know he's famous for having a ton of polydactyl cats there and there were so many am I was in actual heaven,, so many cats so many cats so many cats!! I took a million pictures and I'm dedicating a whole part to them
My sibs and I tried to pay attention to the tour but we kept diverting to go pet the cats lmao
Also Manta got key lime pie on a stick
Sea days
Aka taking about the ship itself eeeep
I'll try not to say much but it was a really great time!! We had this hilarious waiter at the restaurant, he would make things out of napkins [he made me into the statue of liberty with no warning though a crown had and a torch using the fake candle on the table and he jokingly 'spilled' coffee on Cobalt with a black napkin and a cup] and one time my mom was being the anti dessert weirdo she is and didn't order any so he proud out a big fancy platter with 'nothing' written in caramel sauce and a tiny dollop of cream
And our drinks lady,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,
I dunno if I was just really appreciating how pretty she was in an aesthetic way but like wow she was cute! Her name was Ria,,
There's a bit more I want to say but I'll have to wait on that, part two after my flight cause we're about to take off!!
