A species I made but never posted.

These guys are often captured and put into freak shows and circuses for their strange appearances. They are treated as monsters and outcasts to everyone, including their own families and fellow freekialens. They hide their eyes and only let those who they trust see them, because it can do horrible things to anyone else (*cough cough* poisons them and makes them sick for five minutes before they go into a coma and die *cough cough*).

They live alone starting not long after birth and communicate through mostly roars and growls, but can also - surprisingly - purr, but only when they're really happy. They also occasionally bark and yip.

The feathers next to their ears can also be replaced with leaves, grass, crystals, or ribbons, and can raise and lower at any time, not just with their ears. Up means alert, down means sad or mad, middle means relaxed.

This is a semi-open species; don't make one willingly, but they're not hard to get either.
