chapter 4.
When prefect showed Emma her dorm, she realized that she will have a dorm for herself because there wasn't room anywhere else. She was quite happy because of that. It was really late at night. Probably midnight but Emma couldn't sleep so she went to Common Room wearing her pajama.
"Hi" she heard a voice behind her.
"Hello" she replied when she saw that voice belongs to Draco.
"Why aren't you sleeping. "He asked.
"Why are YOU not sleeping?" Emma asked him.
"I asked you first" he replied with a smile.
"I asked you second" she replied to him.
He probably realised that this is pointless so he shook his head and said: "Can't sleep"
"Me neither" Emma replied silently.
They talked for half hour about nonsense and then they released that they should get some sleep.
...
In morning Emma went to Great Hall with Draco and she didn't see Harry anywhere.
They had few classes and then it was the double class of potions. She was very excited because that was her favourite class.
When she and Draco got to class, they sat together.
Then Professor Snape came and started talking:
"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion making," he began. He spoke in barely more than a whisper, but
we caught every word "There will be no foolish wand-waving
here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses... I can teach
you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even put a stopper in death -- if you aren't
as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."
More silence followed this little speech. Harry and Ron exchanged looks with raised eyebrows. Hermione was on the edge of her seat and looked desperate to start proving that she wasn't a dunderhead.
"Mr. Potter!" said Snape suddenly. "What would I get if I added powdered
root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
Harry glanced at Ron, who looked as stumped as he was; Hermione's hand had shot into the air.
"I don't know, sir, " said Harry.
Snape's lips curled into a sneer.
"Tut, tut, fame clearly isn't everything."
He ignored Hermione's hand.
"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me
a bezoar?"
Hermione stretched her hand as high into the air as it would go without her leaving her seat, but Harry didn't have the faintest idea what a
bezoar is.
"I don't know, sir." "Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming.
eh, Potter?" Harry forced himself to keep looking straight into those cold eyes. He had looked through his books at the Dursleys' but did
Snape expect him to remember everything in One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi?
Snape was still ignoring Hermione's hand.
"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
At this, Hermione stood up, her hand stretching toward the dungeon ceiling.
"I don't know," said Harry quietly.
"I won't even try to ask your sister because she clearly doesn't know just like you," he said as he looked at me.
"Professor,˝ Emma started as she sat up"
˝I think that it is highly unfair to only ask Harry those questions and of course he doesn't know all that because our Aunt and Uncle don't like magic so they didn't gave us opertunity to read anything but even if they did, I don't think that he would be able to remember all that. And enough about him, it's also unfair towards me
, you assuming that I don't know something without asking me because, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite. ˝Emma answered and sat back down. She didn't know it then, but that was the day she gained respect from Snape.
