Chapter Twenty
Kelsey is one of the most beautiful people I have ever laid eyes on, just saying.
Also...I had no one else to use besides Ross Lynch for the last chapter.xD It was 10 P.M and I was tired, lol. Also...
I'M GOING TO BE EIGHTEEN ON THURSDAY!!!
I can't wait!!!:3
Scott opened his eyes, gasping when he saw Ross' limp body on the ground. Blood poured out of his forehead, making Scott look away from him. Travis and Candice shared a look, not knowing if they should support Scott's choice of killing Ross or not.
It was a rule The Council made. No enemy is supposed to be killed unless it's through execution.
"I...I," Scott tried to explain, shaking a bit. Candice shook her head, taking Scott's gun. "I didn't mean too!"
"I know you didn't, but you cannot have your weapon anymore. If The Council finds out that you killed Ross by your own accord, you will be the one to be executed. Scott, you have to stay quiet. We can't kill anyone else until we take them to the execution sight."
Scott nodded, tearing up as he looked at the dead body of Ross. The blood made his hair tangly, his eyes wide and empty. Scott kneeled down, closing Ross' eyes as tears rolled down his face.
"I'm so sorry, Ross. I'm so sorry."
"SCOTT!"
Bullets flew from the sky, causing Scott to run over to hide under an awning. He gasped when he saw someone get shot, their body falling to the ground. It was a Pioneer trying to get Ross' body but failed miserably. The raining bullets stopped immediately, bringing Scott, Travis, and Candice out to examine their surroundings. Travis tensed at the newly deceased body, a young woman that had to be no more older that the twenty.
"How did they do that?!"
Scott looked up at the sky, helicopters flying away from the spot. Scott shook his head, looking back at his team so he could get some things across.
"If this happened once, there is a chance that it will happen again. If it does, we have to prepared for it. We need to act her as much Council Members as we can so that no one will die. Do I make myself cle-"
"Twenty."
Scott turned around quickly, a small girl behind him. Her eyes are full of tears, shaking a bit as she walked up to Scott. She held a paper in her hand, shaking it to the Alpha right away.
"Twenty Council Members are dead or MIA. We cannot afford to lose anymore Council Members. The Council will fall apart if we lose anymore."
"Thank you, Alexis. I will keep that in mind. Stay safe, okay? We really need you for this mission."
"Yes, Sir."
"You could call me Alpha Scott."
"Okay...Alpha Scott."
Scott smiled, letting the girl do whatever she needed to do. He looked back at Candice and Travis, frowning immediately as he looked at his surroundings.
"Twenty people and it hasn't even been a week yet. How did this happen?"
"The Pioneers are smart," Travis spoke up, shaking his head. Candice and Scott looked at him, nodding a bit. "They are Betas who agreed with the rules. You will not meet a Pioneer that is an Alpha or Omega. They are always Betas. Why? I do not even now. It's quite weird if you ask me."
Candice nodded in agreement, hearing something that fell on the ground. She raised an eyebrow, walking over to a small device, picking it up carefully.
Dumb mistake.
It started to screech, causing Candice to drop it and cover her ears. Scott and Travis followed suit, running back under the awning Scott was at early. Candice glared at the device, stomping on it with all her might.
The screeching stopped.
"Wow," Candice whispered, smiling back at Travis and Scott. She walked over to her team, smoking widely. "That was easy."
Scott nodded, laughing a bit as he pulled at his dog tags, his mind instantly going to Mitch and their family. He kissed the tags sweetly, looking up at the sky.
"God, please let Mitch an my family be okay. Please? Watch over them as I fight this terrible war. They need you right now. With your precious name we say, Amen."
"What is that beep-"
*BOOM*
~~~
Mitch didn't know why his body allowed him to run away. All he knew was that Avi was going to get angry at him and make him realize what he did wrong.
Nice going. Now everyone is going I know just how stupid you could be. If you get punished, just know that I will be laughing the entire time.
Mitch allowed a tear to roll down his cheek, wanting nothing more than for Scott to hold him. He took a deep breath, wiping his eyes as he looked around him. Flowers of every color and size were by him, begging to be picked. Mitch took one, not noticing that there were thorns on it.
"OW!"
Mitch dropped the flower, his fingers beginning to bleed a bit. He put his finger on his mouth, having no place else to clean up his finger. If Scott were here, he'd know what to do.
Why?
Because to Mitch, Scott knew everything.
"Mitch? Are you out here?"
Mitch looked up, noticing Tori's worried expression. She walked over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder as she looked at him sadly.
"Why did you run out like that, buddy? Everyone wanted to see you give Jessi Ben's ring. Did something happen?"
Mitch nodded, his eyes welling up in tears once more. Tori waited patiently, knowing that she would wait a million years to hear Mitch's response. He sighed, playing with his fingers as a tear managed to roll down his cheek.
"Seeing Jeremy's ring made me remember about me not forgiving him."
Mitch looked away from Tori, crying quietly as she made him look back at her. Tori shook her head, wiping away the tears that rolled down his cheeks.
"You know, you don't need to forgive him. He hurt you."
"Yes I do. Yes, he hurt me, but I forgive him. I really do."
"Mitch, are you forgiving him from your head or from your heart?"
Mitch was about to answer when he realized that he had nothing to say. He realized what Tori meant, widening his eyes a bit as he did. He wanted to forgive Jeremy because of the memories that came into his mind. All he could remember was Jeremy being cruel to him. He wanted to forgive Jeremy so he could forget about all the bad memories the Alpha gave him.
But what about his heart?
Jeremy broke his heart a million of times and even if his brain could forget everything, Mitch's heart won't forget the heartbreak it endured. Jeremy threw his heart against the wall many times before and was unapologetic about it the entire time. Even when Jeremy because good, he never asked for Mitch's forgiveness. He just acted like everything was okay with them.
But they weren't.
"I...I guess I'm forgiving him from my brain."
"That's what I thought. Why do you want to forgive him though? What do you want from that?"
"To get rid of the memories and...um..."
"What?"
"I want to forgive him because he wanted to feel love. I know what it feels like to not have love so I wanted to give him some. He needed to love to survive, but he didn't get any. That's why I think he took a long nap. He was tried of not getting love and when you forgive others, you're giving them love."
"Unless they, you know, don't ask for your permission to make love."
"Of course. People who do that don't deserve love. One of the ways to give love is to accept one's consent."
Tori smiled, bringing Mitch into a hug. He smiled, hugging her back as he forgot about his bloody finger. Tori helped him up, smiling at him as they walked back to the wedding.
"Let's go, Mitchy."
I love you, Mommy.
I love you too, Macy.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT HE COULD BE IN A COMA FOR SIX MONTHS?!"
Alyssa had tears running down her cheeks, unable to grasp these news. The surgeon sighed, making her sit down as he looked at her seriously.
"The surgery is highly complex. I told you that this was going to happen. I'm sorry."
"Sure you are. If you were, he wouldn't be in this coma."
"Lady, it's not my fault. Maybe if he weren't so stupid and got into that car crash, everything would be okay."
Alyssa broke down into tears, causing a nurse to run up to her. The nurse put a hand on her back, looking at her sadly.
"Is everything alright, Ma'am?"
Alyssa shook her head, pointing a shaky finger at the surgeon. The nurse glared at him, cracking her knuckles as she stood in front of him.
"Do I need to punch you?"
"If you do, I will fire you for harassing me."
"If you do that, then I will be more than happy to go to your boss and tell her that you are harassing this poor woman and blaming her husband for putting himself into a car crash that happened over a year ago. It's not his fault that he is in a coma right now. You didn't say that he would be in one. Should I let her know that you could get arrested for malpractice because you didn't tell her that her husband could die, striking fear into her?"
The surgeon widened his eyes, backing off from the sassy nurse. She snapped her fingers, laughing when the surgeon ran off. Alyssa laughed a bit, remembering the nurse from anywhere.
"Long time no see, Kyah. How are you?"
"Good until Mr. Bald Spot ruined my day," Kyah replied, shaking her head. "Kevin is in a coma?"
"Yes. He had a surgery to improve his memory. I had no idea that he would be in a coma. I wished that I knew that ahead of time."
"I would have wished the same thing too. You could sue him for malpractice."
"I know, but my family is already going through so much already."
Kyah nodded, waiting to hear what Alyssa had to say. Alyssa took a deep breath, putting a hand on her stomach.
"I'm pregnant again. That's the only good thing that has happened to me so far. Erik and Ariel...they were kidnapped."
Kyah gasped, running over to the receptionist desk to get a picture. She came back in no time, her eyes full of worry.
"Isn't that them?!"
Alyssa looked at the photo, widening her eyes as she looked at her twins. A blonde female held them, but you could tell that she was wearing a wig. Alyssa nodded, looking at Kyah with wide eyes.
"That's them!"
Kyah nodded, writing down a name quickly. She handed it to Alyssa, her heart aching when the Beta frowned.
"Her name is Pooh S. Keter. Strange name if you ask me."
Alyssa nodded, trying her best to find something out of the name. After five minutes, she gave up. She stuffed the note in her pocket, shaking her head sadly.
"I've got nothing. Please tell me if Pooh comes here."
"Of course. I'll keep you updated on Kevin too."
Kyah nodded, waving when Alyssa left the hospital. It began to rain, only making we say worse. She looked at the name once more, shaking her head as she crumpled it up.
I'll find out who you are, Pooh. Just you wait.
A/N: There's something special about Pooh's name.;) First person to find it out gets a shoutout.:) Also, I guess Chapter Nineteen was posted yet no one had a notification for it.:/ I'm sorry about that. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
