Chapter Nine

Mitch sniffed, tears rolling down his cheeks as Scott pulled up to Jeremy's place. Almost immediately, Ben ran out and Jessi followed him, a frown on their face. Mitch ran out of the car, hugging Ben tightly as they both cried onto each other's shoulders.

"I can't believe he's gone. My only family member is gone."

"I'm so sorry, Ben. I'm so sorry."

They cried some more, sobs shaking their bodies as Jessi walked up to Scott. Tears welled in their eyes, receiving a hug from Scott right away.

"He's at the hospital. We were too scared to go with him. He was in a bodybag when they took him away."

Scott teared up, holding Jessi close as they cried. Mitch let go of Ben, looking at Scott with tear in his eyes.

"He'll never know how much I forgive him. He was going to be forgiven, but now he's gone. What am I going to do?"

Scott sighed, a tear finally rolling down his cheek as Jessi held onto him tightly. Ben fell to the ground, sobbing loudly as he screamed.

He screamed for Jeremy.

He screamed for his parents.

He screamed for his younger sister that his mom was pregnant with when she passed.

He screamed for his foster parents, who wanted him to be with them again.

He screamed for Mitch and his need to forgive Jeremy for hurting him.

Most importantly, he screamed because the relationship that he had with Jeremy, a relationship that he has been wanting for sometime is gone.

And never coming back.

"WHY DID HE LEAVE ME?!"

Mitch fell to his knees too, bringing in Ben. The Omega screamed, trying to get out o Mitch's grip.

"GET OFF OF ME!"

He pushed Mitch roughly, not even cringing when the Special's arms cracked from the push. Mitch teared up some more, sitting up while looking at his hands. Blood started to come out of some parts of him, causing him to be lightheaded. He looked up at Ben, shaking as he did so.

"I just want to help you, Ben. Ple-"

"I DON'T NEED HELP! I JUST WANT JEREMY BACK! I want him back. Please give him back to me."

Ben was inconsolable at this point, sobbing loudly as Mitch helped him stand up. The Special looked at Scott, shaking his head as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Ben has no one, Scott. He only has his foster parents, but he's seventeen. He'll move out once he's eighteen."

Scott nodded in acknowledgment, opening the door for Jessi. They thanked him quietly, hugging him once more before going in the car. Mitch did the same for Ben, looking at with innocence in his eyes.

"What are we going to do?"

Scott sighed as he went in the car, opening the door for Mitch. The Special smile, hopping into the car. He buckled his seatbelt, holding Scott's hand immediately.

"We'll figure something out; however, you're wrong."

Mitch tilted his head, wondering how he could be wrong. He looked behind, smiling sadly as Ben and Jessi fell asleep instantly. He looked back at Scott, a questioning look on his face as he wondered about the Lead Alpha's lead statement.

"How am I wrong? Did I say something wrong?"

"Yes, you did. You told me that Ben doesn't have a family anymore."

Mitch nodded patiently, wondering where Scott was going with this. He blushed lightly as the blond kissed his injured hand, feeling love course through his body.

"We're his family, Mitchy. If the Pack was your family when you first joined it, then the Pack will be Ben's family since he joined if. Ohana means family."

"And family means that no one gets left behind."

"Or forgotten."

"Like Macy?"

Scott teared up some more, nodding as he kissed Mitch's hand once more.

"Yes, just like little Macy."

~~~
Today is Jeremy's funeral. Ben sighed as he saw his foster parents, wondering what they were going to do with him once the funeral is over. Avi patted his back, bringing him in close.
"You're good kid, Ben. Never forget that."
"Yes, Si-I mean Alpha Avi."
Avi swallowed the lump in his throat, hugging Ben a bit tighter. The Omega cried a bit, making Avi's suit jacket wet. The Alpha ran a hand up and down his back, shushing him quietly as Tori walked up to them.
"Hey, guys. You two are sitting in the front row?"
"Yeah, we are. Where's Jordyn?"
"She's being watched in the nursery with the other babies," Tori answered, looking back at Scott and Mitch. "Mariposa will be in here the entire time. They don't feel comfortable with her being gone for so long since she is a coupe weeks old. Both sets of twins and Melody are there too though. Kevin and Alyssa are coming in no time."
Avi nodded, still holding Ben close to him. Jessi hugged Tori, tears rolling down their cheeks as they closed their eyes. Tori kissed their forehead, kissing them sweetly as Scott and Mitch walked up. The Special has Mariposa in his arms, her long eyelashes covering her big eyes.
"We're sitting up here?" Mitch asked softly, emotionally drained by the last couple of days. Tori nodded, bringing Jessi down with her so they could both sit down. "Okay, that sounds fine. I'm sorry if Mariposa cries during this, Ben."
"You're okay," Ben whispered, his voice cracking as he played with his fingers. "Your baby cries if she needs to cry. She's just a baby."
"Ben?" Scott asked quietly, putting a hand on the Omega's shoulder. The brunet nodded, tears welling in his eyes. "Tori and Avi are letting you and Jessi move in with them. Is that okay?"
Ben nodded weakly, not even smiling when Alyssa and Kevin came in. They waved at everyone else, sitting down silently. The piano began to play a melancholy tune as the doors opened, showing some of Jeremy's friends carrying his casket. Ben could hear the sobs of his foster mom echo throughout the church, beginning to cry more himself. Avi held his hand as Mitch held the other, the both of them brushing their thumbs over his knuckles.
Why did you have to go?
Jeremy's casket was brought up to the front as the pastor walked up, Bible in hand. Ben took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he cried some more.
"Jeremy Michael Lewis was a brilliant young man who had everything ready for him. He treated everyone with kindness even though he told me that he hurt someone in the past. He never forgave himself afterwards."
Ben squeezed Mitch's hand sweetly, swallowing the lump in his throat. Mitch began to sob quietly, Scott's arms wrapping around him sweetly.
"He was successful and a great singer. He will be with the ones he loves now. There will be a day where we could all see him again. When that day comes, we shall have eternal peace and happiness. Let us pray."
Ben heard the shuffling of people's heads going down, looking around to see that everyone's eyes are closed. The pastor spoke silently, her voice shaking slightly.
"Lord, please keep Jeremy safe in our hands. We all know that he was hurting for quite sometime, but now he is in a better place where pain is no more. He is finally happy and free from anxiety, worry, and anymore troubling conflicts. He lived an amazing life. As You take him into Your Kingdom, please make sure that he stays safe and that he is happy. With Jesus' name, we say amen."
"Amen."
"Let's have a moment of silence for him, shall we?"
The silence was practically choking Ben. He began to breathe faster, his eyes watering as his foster mom's sons grew louder. He closed his eyes, letting all of his tears escape as he stood up.
I can't take it anymore!
"WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?!"
Everyone jumped, staring at him with wide eyes. His foster father glared at him, shaking his head as his foster mom looked at him with a shocked expression. The Pack looked at him, wondering what he was about to do.
Why, Jeremy?!
He began to run.
~~~

"Ben?"

"Benny!"

"J. Pierce!"

"Baby?! Where are you?!"

Kevin heard crying, stopping right where he was. Alyssa walked into him, gasping silently as she rubbed her arm.

"Kevin, you can't just..."

"Shhhh..."

Kevin turned the corner, his heart breaking at Ben's crying figure. Alyssa shook her head, beginning to cry herself as the rest of the Pack followed her in. Mitch frowned, walking over to Ben so he could talk to him.

"Hey...you want to talk?"

Ben shook his head, resting it on Mitch's shoulder. Everyone smiled, filing in so they could be together again. Scott smiled, sitting down to wrap an arm around Mitch's shoulder.

"Anyone want to talk about something else?"

Mitch raised his hand, smiling when Scott poked at him. He cleared his throat, looking at everyone seriously.

"I had dream a couple nights ago. It was about...Macy."

Alyssa widened her eyes, sharing a look with Tori who looked very shocked. Avi and Kevin shook their heads, wondering how Mitch knew what his dead daughter looked like. Ben and Jessi raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out how that was possible. Scott shook his head, sighing quietly as he tightened his grip on Mitch's shoulder.

"Babe, Macy is dead. You can't see her."

"I did though," Mitch replied, his voice a bit whiny. Everyone was still in shock, disbelief, and just plain confusion. "I know what I saw! She might be dead, but I know what she looks like."

Everyone stayed quiet until Scott cleared his throat, looking at Mitch innocently. Mitch nodded, letting him speak.

"Wh-what did she look like?"

"Like you. Beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous blonde hair. She would've been your twin."

Scott cried a bit, smiling as he hugged Mitch tightly. Everyone else smiled until they noticed the troubled expression on Mitch's face, wondering why he was being like this.

"Mitch?" Kevin asked softly, getting the Special's attention. Mariposa began to cry, squirming around in her baby seat. "What happened in your dream? With her, I mean."

Mitch sighed, looking down at his daughter as he thought about what to say. Scott nodded, holding his hand tightly so he'll not be afraid to say what he has to say.

"She told me something that will change the Pack forever. It's going to change our lives forever."

"What is it?"

Mitch let a tear roll down his cheek, breathing heavily as he wiped at it. He bit his lip, looking over at Scott with tears in his eyes.

"What's the matter, love?"

Mitch cried silently, being hugged by Scott instantly. Scott shushed him, whispering sweet nothings into his ears. He took a deep breath, wiping at his eyes once more.

"She told me that someone in the Pack is going to die because someone killed them. And it isn't me this time."
