Chapter Eleven
I'm definitely happier now than I was on Thursday. This week was stressful and made me want to scream.
Wait...
That's every week.
Ben looked out the car window, the conversation between his foster parents making him want to scream.
"Destiny, he deserves to be punished! He's a terrible Omega!"
"Brad, Ben is a sweetheart. I don't really like how you're talking horribly abo-"
"Shut up! You're an Omega. You know perfectly well that Omegas are meant o be seen, not heard."
Ben swallowed the lump in his throat, despising that rule with a passion. When he attended Omega School, that was the one of the rules. The teachers also told that students that rule every day so they could be 'better Omegas than they are right now'.
No wonder why Omegas get so insecure easily.
"Benjamin."
Ben looked up, his eyes turning blue as Brad looked at him. Brad's eyes were red, striking fear in him as he gripped onto his seatbelt.
"What do you say to me when I say your full name?!"
Ben jumped, tears gathering his eyes. He forgot all about that rule because f being in the Pack. He looked at his lap, his hands shaking a bit while Brad glared at him.
"Ye-yes, Si-Sir."
"Stuttering now? Automatic punishment."
"Brad!"
"Shut up, Destiny! You are being punished for running out of the funeral, stuttering, and your friend for talking to me so terribly."
"Yes, Sir."
Ben's eyes turned blue as Destiny shook her head, trying her best not to cry. Brad stopped the car, hopping out to only take Ben out of the car forcibly. The Alpha grabbed the Omega's wrist, squeezing them tightly to leave bruises.
"Your first punishment is five whips on your back and chest. You will count out loud every time I do so. Your second punishment is putting your hand on the glass of the fireplace we have. You have to leave it there for ten minutes. Your third punishment is having to put an entire bottle of soap in your mouth. Your friend better think of what to say before he speaks to me the way he did."
Something snapped in Ben. He angrily pushed his father, smirking when he fell to the ground. He straddled him, punching him hard on the face while Destiny screamed. He hissed in pain when his fist hit the ground, positive that a few bones broke. He went back to punching his foster father, punching him harder each time.
"HOW ABOUT I PUNISH YOU INSTEAD, UH?! I HAVEN'T SEE JEREMY FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND WHEN I WAS FINALLY WITH HIM AGAIN, HE DIED! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IF DESTINY DIED AND YOU WERE GOING TO BE PUNISHED FOR RUNNING OUT OF THE CHURCH?! IT'LL SUCK!
Ben punched Brad's face until the Alpha finally gripped his arms, flipping themselves around. Brad was right about to punch Ben when a Council member gripped his arm, putting it behind him.
"Bradley Morrison, you are arrested for punishing your son terribly. Anything you say or will be held against you in court."
Ben stood up, looking over at a devastated Destiny. Brad glared at Ben whilst being pushed in the back of the police car, shaking his head while he did so. Another Council member checked his hand, sending an apologetic look when Ben hissed.
"I'm sorry, kiddo. You have to go to the hospital. We will send you to another foster home or send you back to your Pack of you have one unless your mother says she wants to keep you."
Ben looked over at Destiny, ready to ask if he could stay with her. She glared at him, pushing him roughly.
"Get this disappointment out of my face."
Ben began to cry, both from the pain and abandonment of his parents. The Council member frowned, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
"Do you want to go to your Pack?"
"Yes please. I has a question."
"Yes?"
"What's your name?"
"Kelsey!"
Ben smiled, hugging the Council member tightly. Kelsey smiled, leading the fragile Omega to her car.
"That's a pretty name."
"Thank you! Where to?"
"Lake Tahoe? I'm pretty sure you know who the Grassi-Hoyings are?"
"Yep! Get ready, it's going to be a bumpy ride."
~~~
"I want GoldFish!"
Scott smiled, getting a box of the smiling fish from the top shelf. Melody walked in, a big smile on her face as Scott poured a bowl for his husband.
"Dada!"
"Hi, Melody," Scott spoke loudly, smiling down at his daughter. He picked her up, balancing his daughter and the bowl of fish carefully. "You can't be in here, silly girl."
Melody giggled, mumbling something that sounded like a song. Scott smiled, knowing that his children will like music in someway or the other. He put his daughter down, smiling when he saw the twins smiling up at him.
"Hey, Nel and Alex!"
They waved at him, the both of them giggling as they went back to playing. Melody will be two and the twins will be one soon! Scott couldn't believe it! The kids were growing up way too fast for him.
"Do you have my GoldFish?"
"Yep! Here you go, love."
Mitch smiled, saying thank you as Scott set the bowl down. Mariposa drank from her bottle, looking up at her mommy innocently. Mitch smiled down at her, his eyes full of sadnesses when his other arm felt empty.
"I'm so sorry that Macy can't be with you, Mari. You two would have been best friends."
Scott smiled sadly, bringing in the twins in closely. Nel, also known as N.J, began to mumble, causing Mitch to widen his eyes.
"SCOTT, N.J IS GOING TO SAY HER FIRST WORD!"
Mariposa was burped quickly, being put into her baby seat as Mitch began to rock her. Scott took out his phone, waiting for the perfect moment.
"M..."
"That's right, say Mommy."
"Or say Daddy. Daddy's important too."
Mitch slapped his arm playfully, laughing a bit as Scott laughed loudly. Melody clapped, waiting for her little sister to speak.
"Ma..."
"Mama? That's okay too. Come on, baby."
N.J smiled at her parents, giggling a bit. Her parents laughed too, waiting impatiently for her to say her first word. Mariposa began to whine, causing Mitch to stand up so he could his youngest child.
"It's okay, Mari. Mommy's here."
"Macy."
Mitch widened his eyes, looking away from Mariposa for a second. N.J smiled while Scott dropped his jaw, looking over at Mitch with wide eyes. Mitch teared up, covering his mouth hide his sobs.
"Yay, N.J! Mommy and Daddy are proud of you, baby! Macy loves you!"
N.J clapped and Scott recorded for a bit more, stopping it so that he could hold Mitch. The Special cried, sobbing loudly as Scott rubbed his back.
"Ssshh, Mitchy. It's okay, love."
"No it isn't. Macy is supposed to be here and be protected by her older siblings. It's not fair! I want her to be here!"
"I want her to be here too. She's happy up in Heaven, okay? She is watching over us and she is the one protecting her siblings."
Mitch cried, wanting his daughter to be in his arms. Macy was supposed to the one to bury her parents, not the other way around.
"Why did she leave us? Why?!"
Scott was about to say something else when something slipped under the door. He let go of Mitch for a second, walking over to it. He tilted his head, wondering why someone would slip a pregnancy test under the door.
"Mitch? Is this another one of your pregnancy announcements?"
"No? I don't want to be pregnant again."
Scott picked the test up, just as confused as Mitch was. The test read positive, only making the couple more confused.
"Who is this?"
"I don't-"
A note was slipped under the door now, causing Mitch to walk over to it. Scott nodded, fear striking him as he he looked at the test.
Who besides Tori is pregnant?
Mitch picked up the letter, opening it quickly. He read through it, breathing quickly as he shook his head. He began to cry, falling to the ground as Scott ran over to him.
"Mitch! What does it say?!"
Mitch handed the letter to Scott, sobbing loudly. Scott read the letter, shaking his head as he gripped at it tighter.
It's your fault the baby is gone. Maybe the pregnancy test wasn't as positive as it said it was.
"Scott, is it really my fault?"
Scott shook his head, sitting down so he could bring Mitch into a hug. The Special continued to cry, gripping onto the Lead Alpha's shirt as much as he could.
"It's not your fault, Mitch. I promise."
Yes it it.
~~~
"Esther? Where's your pregnancy test?"
"I threw it away. Hurry up! My ultrasound is right now!"
Darien rolled his eyes, getting out of the car while Esther walked into the hospital. He shook his head, smiling when Tori and Avi walked in. The couple was laughing, their daughter in Avi's arm. Darien sighed, wanting that kind of love desperately.
Why can't I have that?
Darien locked his car, walking into the hospital. Avi looked over in his direction, an eyebrow raising as he looked over at him.
"Darien? Why are you doing?"
"Oh," Darien replied, looking over at the Alpha. "Esther is, um, pregnant."
Avi widened his eyes, a small smile forming on his face as tears gathered in his eyes. Darien frowned, wondering why the Alpha was crying.
"What's wrong?"
"Our brother Josh and I were told that were unable to make our future Mates pregnant and Esther was unable to become pregnant. This is amazing. I'm so happy for you, Darien."
Darien nodded, wondering why Avi and Esther were so mad at each other. The last time they really saw each other was five years ago, only making him wonder why they didn't communicate with each other anymore.
"Avi, why-"
"Darien, don't talk to the enemy! You know I hate him!"
"Don't talk about my husband like that," Tori hissed, glaring at her with crossed arms. "My husband did nothing wrong to you. Quit complaining."
"Yeah," Jordyn spoke up, giggling a bit. Esther looked over at her, widening her eyes when she realized that the one year old is her niece.
Her biological niece.
"Whatever. Come on, Darien. It's time to go in."
Darien nodded, waving goodbye to the couple. He walked inside the room, nodding his head at the ultrasound technician.
"Well, let's get started! I'm Kat Blaque and I will be in charge of Esther's ultrasounds."
Darien nodded as Esther prepared herself for the ultrasound, sighing to himself as the machine turned on. Kat smiled at him, laughing a bit.
"First child?"
"Yeah. This is our first child after many tries."
"Congratulations," Kat told the couple excitedly, her smile practically taking over her whole face. "This pregnancy will be very hard because of this being your child after many tries. You have to be super careful."
Esther nodded, wanting to see her child already. Darien held her hand, waiting for the image to come up.
Please let us keep this child. Ple-
"And there's a baby! You can't tell what their gender is yet, but the baby is growing the way it is supposed to do."
Esther began to cry, smiling the best she could while Kat gave her the sonogram. Darien smiled, laughing a bit as he realized that he will have a small baby in his arms in nine months.
"Congratulations! Everything is going the way it's supposed to do!"
Esther looked at the sonogram, smiling at Darien the best she could.
"Our child, Darien. Little Kirstin Taylor."
Darien nodded, trying his best not to cringe at the name. He just hugged his wife, kissing her forehead sweetly.
"I'm so happy, Esther. You don't even know it."
"I'm happy too."
The couple stayed in each other's embraces, forgetting about all their problems for the moment.
I love you Kirstin, but Darien comes first. I'm sorry.
