Its thanksgiving morning. I go down stairs and help the adults set up breakfast. R.J. comes down with wet hair.

"Goodmorning." I say to him as he sips his coffee.

"Dad's coffee really hits the spot." Adrian comes down and takes a sip of his coffee. R.J. kisses Adrian and heads to the table.

My father sticks the turkey into the oven, "Cesar, How is college treating you?"

"Its going well. My classes are good. Next year I start planning my senior piece."

My mother sits at the table. "You are aware that we are all coming to see you in New York." I lean over on the chair.

"I am have been aware since freshman year." R.J and Adrian sits at the table. "How is the UK, Adrian, I heard you got a 1 year internship!"

"Yeah ill be finishing it in the summer! I wanted to be here for Thanksgiving because they said that you were going to be home! I haven't seen you in a while! Not to mention that your friends were coming!" I was a little nervous when Adrian started dating R.j. I thought our relationship would change from being like my friend to being my brother's boyfriend. I actually got to know him quite well when R.j. graduated from high school. We were close but we got closer because he was more free to be himself.

"But tell me about this wedding! When is it? Where is it? Have you decided?" I asked them.

"We decided on having it next Fall.. So your senior year! We want it to be like in the country but we are not sure how we wanna go about decorations and stuff. Momma Torsha and Mom going to help us on that." R.J explains to me. "You are going to be my best man, you know that right? So make sure you come home couple days early to celebrate!"

I look at Adrian, "What about you? Have a best man yet?"

"Emma is going to be my best maid.... Maiden?"

I cover my hand not to laugh. Emma hits Aiden upside his head, "Please don't tell me that's the official title because I will kill you if you put that on the program!" Emma walks in with mom and sits with us. "Not that I don't love you two but can we please talk about Tyler?" Emma asks impatiently.

"Lets." says Adrian as he leans forward while sipping tea. They all look at me. I take a sip of my water not saying a word.

"NO NO don't go and turn into your father again!" My mother says. We all look at my dad cooking who looks at us without a word and then goes back to cooking.

"I am my father's son." I reply.

"But honestly you need to give up some details because I'm dying to know as well." My father says as he continues preparing the sides for dinner. Mom points at him in agreement.

"Do you like her? Are you going to ask her out?" Mom asks.

"You better!" Tammy says as she sits next to us. I rub my face.

Jesus kill me now. "Why has this become some sort of interrogation."

"Im sorry man but the way you held her that night at dinner...." R.J says as he stuffs his face.

"It was loud. Your actions were screaming at us the whole night." Adrian adds.

" Okay. Okay.. Maybe I do like her." I say softly.

"MAYBE!?" Everyone said in unison.

"FINE! I DO HAPPY NOW?" fucking hell. Tammy, Emma, Adrian, and R.J. holds hands and jump in their seats squealing. Tammy is dying of laughter will Rosie just smiles as she watches them get excited.

I just laugh. I love my family.

"What did we miss?!" Asher asks as Hannah walks in with him. Papa Riccardo and Momma Torsha trickle in.

"Cesar likes Tyler and we are celebrating."Adrian explains.

"Shouldn't the celebration be after he asks her out?" Papa Ricky says. Everyone is in awkward silence.

He does have a point.

I sure hope she says yes though.

I am still trying to figure out how I want to go about it. I am sure if it was uncle Ricky or even R.J. they would have asked years ago.

But I like to take my time.

Why the rush?

Tyler walks in and it really got silent. She looks at all of us frazzled because of the sudden silence. She waves awkwardly. Everyone waves and then immediately scatter doing other things. I grab her hand.

"Come sit down for breakfast." They started talking amongst each other again.

"Did i interrupt something?"

"No you didn't my pop said something stupid. Did you sleep well?"

"I really did. Thanks.. Emma was very nice."

"So whats going on today?" Asks Hannah.

"Well.. We have to go into town because the children's old high school has their annual Thanksgiving bash. There is games, kids makes crafts, there is music... OMG YOU SHOULD SING! The high school would love their alumnus to sing! I should call your principal he would totally be down!" My mother says as she reaches for the phone.

"You guys down for another gig?" Asher looks at everyone."THE LOCAL VOCA-"

"NO!" Our gang yells. He puts his hand on his chest.

"LET. ME. LIVE!" He clears his voice. "THE LOCAL VOCALS ARE AT IT AGAIN!"

"Fuck me." Tammy lets out. Hannah kisses Asher's cheek and pats his back. She is definitely playing supportive girlfriend role today.

"I recommend getting better name." My dad finally says. I look at Asher and point at my dad.

He knows whats up.

We all get dressed and head over to our school's Thanksgiving/Harvest festival they do it every year at a pumpkin patch and its really popular event.

I start picking pumpkins with Tyler. My whole family separate into the respective couples and the kids clumped together. Me and Tyler were left together.

"How about this one?" I ask Tyler. She thinks about it. She shakes her head.

"Bigger?" She smiles.

"Bigger." We continue on with our search.

"So... I have been meaning to ask you.. What do you think of my family?"

"They are really fun.. I never suspected you had a big family."

"No ever really does. My family is loud but i love them. Sometimes I feel out of place even my own family but if it wasn't for the fact that i am like my dad. I would have thought i was adopted. But music changed that for me... I felt like a empty space in the family. My brother was an athlete, Adrian was the artist, Emma had a loud personality so she was always the center of attention, and me.... I felt like... I don't know... like i wasn't there. Like i am overlooked. Music made me stand out in my family... It boosted my self-esteem and now.. they see me as the talented singer! My family brags about me to other people. I'm no longer R.J's littler brother but i am me... I am sorry that i am rambling."

I look to see Tyler sitting on a pumpkin with a face that I have never seen before. Her eyes were soft and sad like she could cry but she was holding back tears, "NO! Please tell me more! You must have felt very lonely.." I chuckle to myself to try to stop myself from tearing up. I couldn't even say the words.

I stared into her eyes not breaking contact, "All the time." I respond back. Shit! SHIT! i cover my face so she wouldn't see me cry. "Shit something must have gotten in my eyes." She walks over to me and crouches to give me a hug. I bury my face into her shoulder. I can feel her fingers in my hair. I bury her face in her shoulder. I grasps her coat and hug her tighter.

She pulls me away so I can see her hands, " But look now. You are here with family who loves you and who are here for you and support your dreams. You have Tammy, Asher, Hannah, and me who will be by your side always." She wipes my tears.

"I really hope we stay friends after we all graduate."

"Please Vocal locals for life!" I laugh. She laughs with me too.

I grab her hands and sigh heavily she looks at me waiting for me to speak, " Out of all our friends, I'm really thankful for you." She looks at me with a soft look with a smile on her face. "You really held me together my freshman and sophomore year. Gave me a place where I can rest. When you were gone for that whole week when your brother died, I missed you so much. Our group wasn't the same without you. I wasn't the same." I place my hand on the side of her face.

She leans into it, "I missed you so much it hurt."

"I want..." I get out. She leans her head against mine, "I want.." I repeat again.

"You want?" She repeats.

"I want to be yours." I force out. Her smile grows wider.

"Can you see yourself in my crazy family?" I add. She places her hands on the side of my face and nods.

He exhales and starts to well up, "Seriously?!"

"I love your family. I never had big family and now with my brother gone... I'm nervous but... I think it would be cool to call them my family too."

He pulls me in and hugs me tightly and kisses the top of my head. "We should make our way back to the school and get ready for the performance." He says against my head.

We ended up walking down the halls, of my school. Tyler runs his hands against the lockers, "I can't even imagine what you must looked like here as student."

"Trust me you weren't missing much."

"Cesar!" I look and see Chester waving by at me. I wave back.

"Nice to see you again man! I hope you are singing like old times?"

I smile, "You know it!"

Tyler looked at me confused.

"He was in theater." I explain.

We meet the others who were practicing while everyone was trickling in. I grab her hand as we walked to them and Tammy and Hannah gasps.

"Did it happen did the moment happen!?" tammy pleads.

"If it didn't this would have been hella awkward." Murmurs Asher.

I kiss the side of her face.

It did." says Tyler. The girls squealed as they gather her in a group hug.

I come over to Asher who gave me a solid hand shake, "The deed is done." Asher says as he smiles big. "You did good."

"Don't we have a show to perform?" I ask to them all.

"Lets go!" Asher says as we all get on stage.

We get off stage and my family attack us all.

"THAT WAS AMAZING!" Emma exclaims.

"You all better perform at our wedding or I will kill you all!" Adrian threatens. We all laugh. Tyler surrounds herself in my arms. I look at her with a huge smile on her face whisper in her ears, " Family meltdown in 3, 2, 1. "

"Cesar, is there something you want to share with your whole family...." Papa Riccardo calls out. "We are waiiiting..."

"We are officially dating." I say short and sweet. I grab Tyler and pull her in quickly because they whole family shortly after came at us in this massive 10+ sized group hug. Once they broke the hug a few people gave Tyler a hug to welcome her offically in.

"Shall we go and eat dinner?" Rosie exclaims.

We spend the rest of the night talking and laughing and having a good time. Asher and Hannah are conversing with Adrian and R.J. about what they want to hear at their wedding. Tammy is talking with Emma about God knows what.I am so relieved that my friends meshed with my family so well. I always forget how unconventional we look to outside people but this is my crazy, loud, cussing family.

Family events wouldn't be the same without Papa Riccardo yelling that there isn't enough beer and my father give him disapproving looks. Or when mom makes us all take our family pictures

Even st. Patricks day.

I sit next to Tyler as she laughs and talks to my family. Tammy even helped with translating sometimes. I watch her as she interacts with my brother and Adrian. Natalie grabs onto her shirt and asks to be picked up. She grabs her and puts her on her lap. Momma Torsha even gave her Natalie's plate so she can feed her. I put my hand on her back and rub it. Its so nice seeing my family interacting her like this.

Its like she fits right in.

She looks at me and smiles.

"Are you having fun? You look like it." I ask.

"I think your family is rubbing off on me." She replies. I hug her.

She smiles as my family does a loud and obnoxious. "HOW CUTE!"
