ELLA DANIELS IS NOT A RECKLESS person, yet the death of her father has left the grieving girl unsure who she really is. Forced to move back to England and reside under the care of a stepmother that loathes magic, Ella sneaks out of her window one night and wanders upon a ball. From afar, she watches as young men escort beautiful women in gossamer gowns to dance the night away and loses herself in a fantasy — one where a handsome stranger frees her from the clutches of her wicked stepmother.

Enter Sirius Black. Loud, obnoxious and determined to push her buttons when he accuses her of being a 'prejudiced bitch' mid-dance before drunkenly throwing up on her shoes. He's definitely no prince and she definitely isn't the pureblooded princess he thinks she is, but their romance is most definitely one for the storybooks. When Ella's stranger turns out to be a classmate at her new school, she is determined to avoid him, all whilst Sirius is trying to figure out why he's attracted to someone he should hate . . .

— Ella is a muggleborn. Her father works overseas and she is forced to move in with her stepmother following his death, thus it is her first time attending Hogwarts. Her stepmother is a muggle that thinks magic is sinful.
— Personality wise, she is an optimist and a hopeless romantic that craves adventure, despite her tendency to play things safe.
— This loosely is inspired by Taylor Swift's Enchanted and Cinderella. Ella transfigures her clothing and sneaks into the ball, but ultimately has to rush off when people realise she doesn't belong.
— Instead of a glass slipper, she leaves behind something muggle. I won't dictate what this is
— Sirius doesn't know she's muggleborn, so he tries his hardest to hate her because she represents the same pureblood ideology he opposes.
— Although Sirius doesn't 'save' her, he gives her the courage to leave her own family after he's blasted off the tree.
