Twenty One - Forever
(" Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Gould. Sums up Lonnie and Frankie's journey amazingly :)
Lonnie walked into Headquarters with a huge smile on his face and everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him like he was crazy. Never, had her ever walked into the station looking like that, and Dee and Luann looked at each other with their brows up, grinning.
"What you so happy 'bout son?" Bubba asked, pushing his hat up off his forehead.
Lonnie put his hands on his hips, looking down, than back up before addressing everyone, still smiling, and Bubba still giving him a weird side eye.
"Well," He began, "I asked Frankie to marry me, and she said yes." The whole station yelled out congratulations and walked over to him, patting him on the back and shaking his hand. Dee and Luann both gave him huge hugs and kisses on the cheeks, and he blushed a bit.
"Frankie asked me to ask if either of you knew of a close by place – a barn, or outdoor something that rents for weddings?- and if you could give her a call..." He looked lost and they giggled, then both glanced at one another with excited expressions.
"The old Percy place." Luann began.
"That's what I was thinkin', out there on route 21." Dee looked at her nodding.
"Yeah their doing it up as we speak, we'll let Frankie know."
"Thanks," He said relieved. "I ain't good with this stuff..." They laughed and called her direct from the station to let her know, and work out a time to all go out there to take a look.
Lonnie thanked everyone for the congrats. "We ain't gonna wait to do it - it'll be soon so you know, and I hope y'all can make it, it would mean a lot to us if all of you were there. Short notice I know, but if we find a place today" He looked at Dee and Luann, "the wedding will be this Saturday, that's the plan. If you can't make it I get it, but your all invited, and I hope you can." Everyone in the station said they'd be there, late or early depending on the shifts; Lonnie was very grateful, they were like his family.
A call came in about a disturbance at Sparta Laundry and Drycleaning, and Bubba nodded to Lonnie and they headed out. Dee and Luann were still on the phone with Frankie, making plans to see the old Percy place at lunch.
------------------------------------------------------------
'Okay', Frankie thought and paced around the apartment thinking, 'I got Louisiana Lou's to cater the food and liquor, we're renting the Percy Place – thank you Luann and Dee' She put her hands together thinking of how nice it was of them to take her there, 'All Seasons Party Rental for table settings, tables, chairs, picnic tables for the game area, and tent in case it pours; the Paster for the ceremony, games from Play it Again Sam in Jackson...' She ticked off her list, and continued to pace around. 'Ummm...only having two large planters with flowers where we'll be standing and Sparta Flower shop is doing that and my bouquet...we're not having bridesmaids, ushers, ring bearers, or flower girls, it'll just be Lonnie and I... Need to get him a flower for his suit still...my dress is being shipped from New York, and should have already left, I'll have to confirm that...got my white cowboy boots' She laughed out loud, wondering if she'd look ridiculous or not. "Oh well," she said to no one "It's happening." Frankie stopped, then continued thinking and pacing. 'I picked up his wedding band from the engravers today, everybody has been invited...'
She let out a heavy breath, looking around the apartment and smiled. What a crazy time it's been here in Sparta. "Now I'm going to live in Sparta – I never even knew it existed before." She figured she may as well talk to herself out loud, her head was spinning with all the thinking, organizing, and reserving everything. She hoped Lonnie touched base with the realtor about them coming in to sign the final set of papers for the house. The owners accepted their offer almost immediately, and the closing was in a month.
She sighed and walked into the bedroom. On the bed was the package she ordered from Tina's Boutique in Jackson; lacy bras and undies in three different colors with stocking and guarders', if she felt so inclined. She unpackaged it and held them up to her face. Smirking to herself, she headed to the shower.
-----------------------------------------------------
Lonnie walked into the apartment about 7:20 and called for Frankie to see if she was there. He was tired. The disturbance at Sparta Laundry and Drycleaning ended up with a shooter that locked himself in with a ton of ammo and a pretty lousy shot. They got him out, but it took almost all day.
He put his bag in the hall by the door and yelled to her again. 'Where is that girl of mine?' he thought, and wondered around. He walked into the bedroom and saw her in a big, cream colored house coat.
"Are you just getting dressed now?" He laughed and looked at her wide eyed. They had so much to do; there was no time to be lazy - what the hell was she doing?
"Is that new?"
He pointed to the house coat, but she didn't answer him or turn around. He just stood there, his blood started to bubble. He was in no mood for this. If he did something she was mad at, than out with it; none of this stonewalling bullshit. He was tired, he was hungry, he was stressed about the wedding and the honeymoon. He had no time to start looking for where they could go because he lost an entire day due to some shit head that just couldn't come out of a laundry mat.
"Frankie. I'm talking to you." He was mad now, she could tell by the tone of his voice. She could hear him inhale and exhale from across the bedroom. She was smiling as she folded the towels, still not looking at him.
"Frankie! I said-" She turned around to face him with the wickedest smile on her pink, glossy lips, and it turned him on to no end. The way her eyes looked when she had make up on them was nothing but hypnotic, and gave him chills down his neck and spine. Her hair was straight now, not wavey, and pulled back in a slick ponytail that he wanted to grab in his large hands to stop her from moving when he was on top of her.
He looked at her like she was dinner.
"Lonnie," her breathy tone made his pants below the belt tight. She slowly walked up to him. "I ordered us supper, I put it in the oven to keep it warm." She ran her hands down his chest and he grabbed her, and she shook her head, beckoning him to the kitchen with her finger.
"Sit. I'll get it for us, and you can tell me how work was."
"I don't wanna talk about work, I want you too-" Frankie put her finger over his mouth and he tried again to grab her, and she shook her head, the tightness of his jeans becoming really uncomfortable. His eyes locked on her as she moved. She walked around his chair and squeezed his shoulders and his eyes closed. It felt so good, his shoulders were always tight. She rubbed and massaged them until she felt the muscles give in a bit, then checked the oven for the food, smiling to herself.
Lonnie was rubbing his eyes at the table and Frankie quickly took off the robe and threw it on the floor. She bent over wearing the skimpy, white lace undies, and the push up in the same shade that extenuated every curve of her chest.
When he opened his eyes he growled at her and stood up. Frankie turned around to see his chest heaving up and down and his hands balled up into fists. He was grinding his teeth, she could hear it.
She smirked at him and pulled out a shoe box from against the wall. She slid on the highest stilettos he had ever seen, and made him harder than he already was. With every exhale he grunted; it was a deep, animalistic grunt that made her want to give herself to him to do what he pleased.
"To answer your question Lieutenant - yes, all of this is new."
He loved it when she called him 'Lieutenant', and her breathy tone was almost too much for him, and his breathing became harder. She looked into his eyes and saw raw, heated desire, and it scared her a bit, but turned her on like no other man ever has. She blew him a kiss, then bent over right in front of him to take out the food.
That was all he could take of that.
He grabbed her hips with both hands and yanked her backwards into his body and the food went flying all over the kitchen floor. He pulled her hard to him and ground his erection into her. He kissed her neck and she moaned loudly as his hands ran over her breasts and under her bra. Lonnie held her so tight she couldn't move, and when she tried, he yanked her back roughly, then held her in place tighter. His hand slid under her panties and she cried out as he rubbed tiny circles there. He turned her round and pushed her up against the wall and crashed his mouth on hers. He hiked her leg up and over his hip and pushed himself against her and she whimpered, grabbing his hair as his mouth was all over her. Frankie undid his jeans, jerking them down as Lonnie tore off his shirt and attacked her body again. He ripped off her bra and threw it across the kitchen, kissing and biting her breasts as she mounded loudly.
He yanked her towards him and held her there. With one swipe of his muscular arm the table Frankie had set for dinner was now smashed on the floor. He flipped her over and pinned her face down to the table. He held her arms with one hand and pulled down her panties with the other. "Fuck" he growled into her ear as he felt the wetness between her thighs.
The curves of her body were intoxicating to him, and he ran his hand down them, moaning at her silky smooth skin. He kicked her legs apart and propped her up, gently guiding himself inside her and she moaned at the feel of him. He let go of her arms and thrust into her hard and he felt her beginning to tighten around him. "Fuck" he cursed and moaned as her body trembled under him. He hit all the right spots, and Frankie cried out as the sensations ripped through her. He clutched her ponytail, wrapping her hair around his hand, pulling her face up and toward him as he pushed himself deeper inside her. She was beyond stunning, there were no words. Frankie tightened around him hard and she screamed loudly as her body went limp, the pleasure ripping through her was ecstasy. Lonnie cursed and yelled for the last time, thrusting himself so deep inside her so many times that Frankie couldn't even make a sound, the feeling was so intense.
He emptied himself inside her over, and over. And with one final yell, Lonnie collapsed on her back, trying to catch his breath. He still held her down on the table, and she loved feeling of the weight of his body on hers.
He slowly got up, balancing his weight on his arms so he didn't hurt her. He pulled her up and turned her around gently to face him. Her hair was all over and stuck to her face with sweat, her breasts had marks on them from him, her legs were still shaking, and her makeup was all over her face. She was absolutely the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on in his entire life. He sighed, and moved the hair off her face, and she smiled at him. Frankie ran her hands down his face, and kissed him gently.
"God I'm hungry." Frankie said, and looked around the kitchen. It was a disaster; food and broken dishes everywhere, and the oven door was still open. She laughed out loud and Lonnie grinned at her.
"What a shit show this is." He looked around and was surprised at how wrecked it was. It was a crazy mess, but he loved how it got that way.
"I'm starving too, wanna go out to dinner? We can deal with this after." Frankie nodded than smirked at him, and he raised his thick brows at her. She made her way past him, naked, in her ridiculously high stilettos, and his eyes ran up the length of her body.
"I'm going to get dressed Lieutenant; it might take me a while to pick out which color of under garments I want to wear; with guarders, stockings, without..." She looked back at him and he was staring at her with his head down, his chest heaving with his breaths, and his hands balled into fists. "You know, since you ripped the other ones off me." Frankie blew him another kiss, and he marched to the bedroom after her and slammed the door behind him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The week went by quickly and it was almost Saturday. Everything was delivered that could be delivered, and was being stored at Percy's Place until the wedding day.
Marty, Felicia, Whinnie, and Reba offered to pay for, and decorate the barn for Frankie and Lonnie as part of their wedding gift from all them. Frankie said no gifts, but they insisted; they really wanted to, and Frankie was grateful for one less thing to worry about.
The girls bought off white ribbons, burgundy and forest green bows, clear soft white lights like the ones for a Christmas tree, and big bulb string lights for the dance floor, buffet table, and any walking path they could find, or create. Whinnie found a huge chandelier at Maude's Pawn Shop, and snatched it up with several boxes of soft white candles for it. They all agreed it would look awesome hanging over where they we standing, and Marty ordered hilarious signs and more flowers for the centerpieces.
The ladies also took over the placement of the games when the company came to set them up, and whatever else needed doing.
They all thought two planters were just not enough, and ordered seven more through Reba's friend in Biloxi, making sure Frankie was good with it. They were all just so happy for her, and they wanted to make it special for her too.
She was staying at the Twelve Oaks B&B with the girls on Friday night to chill and have a few cocktails. Lonnie, however, was going out to the bar with the boys from the station and OPS. Bubba called to let Bo at Dixieline know that Lonnie was getting hitched on Saturday, and they needed a good chunk of his place for the guys night. Bo was more than happy to oblige, and Bubba told him that one of the bride's friends Tog, had offered to pick up the entire tab for the night, and told him to stock up. Bo thought about all the business he'd get, and made a few calls for some extra deliveries so he didn't run out of anything.
Tog started a collection form all the OPS boys for Frankie and Lonnie's wedding gift, telling Frankie this no gift bullshit wasn't going to fly with him, and she laughed. She had him over to the apartment for pizza and a movie, and asked him if he would walk her down the aisle. He said yes, and hugged her hard. They had been through so much together for so long. It'll be weird not seeing each other all the time. He was her partner in crime, literally, for years; her "brother from another mother". They both made a promise to always keep in touch, and to visit as often as they could.
They talked about his plans, how he was heading to Rome to buy that villa he always wanted; Six Pack and Mac were going with him. He had no plans to go back to New York anytime soon – none of them did as far as Frankie could tell, including her. A lot went down there, and they all needed a break from it.
"They did us a solid, that's for sure. But Kaczyinski can stay in New York, with his daughter and Marie." Tog said shaking his head.
They talked about how Reba and Rouch were looking for houses in Vicksburg, and how Tog thought Marty and Foley would soon be a "thing", and Frankie agreed. No one was sure what Whinnie and Felicia had planned, except heading to the Bahamas to soak up the sun - and some men.
He told Frankie she caught a good one, and he was so happy she'd be with Lonnie and he wouldn't have to worry about her, his "Sis", it was a big relief. He liked him. "When I saw how he freaked out when David touched you, and the beating he gave him when he took you...I knew right then, he was a solid guy – even though he is a cop." She pushed him and laughed. They were all heading into new territory now, and all of them were a bit nervous, but so excited at the same time. They were ready for this.
---------------------------------------------------------
Lonnie woke up early Saturday morning with some great memories and a pounding headache. He vaguely remembers Bubba and Sweet dragging him into his apartment and flopping him on the bed, but it clearly happened as he was still in his clothes from the night before. His phone rang and the sound hurt his head.
"Lonnie, Lonnie you up yet? Rise and shine son, you gotta a big day today" Bubba called from the station, and Sweet looked at him and laughed.
"Is he alive?" He asked, still laughing.
"Yep, he's movin'" Bubba smirked and put the receiver back to his ear.
"Yeah, yeah Bubba I'm up."
"Now Lonnie don't forget we'll be there at noon to get you ya' hear, be ready – don't go back to sleep now."
"I won't Bubba, see you then."
He made sure his suit, shirt and shoes were ready to go, and walked to the bathroom for the Advil and downed three with a huge glass of water before jumping in the shower. He was nervous and excited about today. 'Finally' he thought, 'She'll be my wife, my one; the only one I was ever meant to be with.' He smiled, and rinsed the shampoo from his hair.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Frankie woke up and smiled as soon as she opened her eyes. Today was the day, and she was so excited. She couldn't believe she was getting married. Had anyone asked her a year ago if it was even possible for her to date someone, she would have laughed right in their face out of pure frustration; now, she was marring a man who she loved more than anything, more than she ever thought it possible to love someone. She knew him, she always had. They were meant to be...she got up and hopped in the shower, smiling and excited.
She was getting ready at The Twelve Oaks with Marty and Reba helping her, while Felicia and Whinnie picked up food for everyone from The Magnolia Café, since they were banned from the Oaks restaurant.
"There loss" Whinnie shrugged. "With the way we all eat they could have made a fortune this morning."
"Totally." Felicia agreed as they drove to pick up the food.
The girls had finished all the decorating the barn night before, and everything was set to go. Roach lent them the Ford he rented to bring Frankie over to Percy's Place as her Camaro didn't give a lot of space for a wedding dress. Reba was driving Frankie over, and the rest of the ladies were taking the Camero.
When they got back with the food, they all dug in; drinking coffee and laughing together. Frankie was grateful for these women in her life, they were the best.
"Girl let's go! It's time to get you dressed and to the barn!" Reba raised her coffee cup and the rest of them did the same.
"To the barn!" They all shouted then broke out laughing, it was just so ridiculous.
They all helped Frankie put the tiny flowers throughout her hair; she was wearing it down, long and wavey with a wreath of Babies Breath around the top of her head. Her dress was long and flowy, in off white. The arms were sheer fabric and long, gliding down like wings when she put her arms up. The front was low cut with tiny pearls embroidered into it, with a thick sash that extenuated her waist and tied into a bow at the back. There was no crinoline underneath, the gown just flowed out from around her.
"Wow hon, you look beautiful!" Marty said, getting a little teary, she was so happy for Frankie.
"Yeah, this totally looks like medieval – you know, like knights' and maidens and stuff...it's awesome, just like out of a movie" Felicia walked around her, just loving the style.
"Thank you – thank all of you so much. I couldn't have done this without you, and I love you all...'Frankie started tearing up and so did the rest of them. They all hugged one another, and wiped the tears off their faces.
"Come on y'all" Reba blew her nose. "It's time to get this girl to the alter." They fixed their make up one last time, and headed out to the barn, a box of tissue with each of them.
-------------------------------------------------------
Bubba pulled up to Percy's Place with Lonnie, Sweet, Bill, and Virgil in the squad car. Lonnie got out and couldn't believe what he saw: the front of the barn was decorated with thick fabric draped above the entrance and a huge wreath of burgundy roses in the middle and tiny white lights tied throughout. There were two huge planters on either side of the doors, and a chalk board with "Lonnie and Frankie" written on it with an arrow that pointed inside.
"How the hell did she do this?" he said out loud, completely in aww of what he saw.
"Man, this sure looks good." Sweet said as he stood beside Lonnie.
"Well, come on Jamison," Bill nudged his elbow "You can't be standing here when those young ladies pull up." He nodded to the Chief, and they all went inside, Lonnie's palms starting to sweat already.
When Lonnie walked in he was in complete disbelief again. It was stunning – all the decorations, the tables, everything. It was also packed with all his, and Frankie's closest people. They came up to him, shook his hand, patted him on the back with appetizers and liquor on their breaths. He smiled big, and looked around, it was exactly what he wanted - what he had thought about on those lonely nights, when he allowed himself to feel for a bit; when he thought it was an impossibility, that he would never find anyone...until her, 'My everything.'
He took in the entirety of what was in front of him, and as people took their seats, the Pastor was waving him up. "This is it" He nervously clenched and unclenched his fists, and walked to the front.
---------------------------------------------------
Frankie got out of the Ford and stared at the barn and stared to cry. It was so beautiful. Reba jumped out and stared wiping her tears.
"Don't cry girl" Reba said as she was crying "Your make up will get all fucked up." Frankie looked at her and broke out laughing. The Camaro pulled up and they all got out and stood with Frankie.
"God it's just gorgeous, I love it so much" She got teary again and dabbed her eyes. "Thank you – thank you so much."
"Well" Marty looked at everyone, "Shall we" They all nodded, grinning and lead Frankie to the back room through the door at the side. When they got her in, they hugged her, and went out to take their seats. Tog was waiting for her there, and when he turned around and saw her, his eyes welled up.
"My God look at you." He took both her hands. "You look amazing Frankie." She hugged him and he squeezed her tight. Tog handed her bouquet, and she held his hand, and waited for Whinnie's que to begin.
"Guess we're doing this old school" Tog smiled and gave her his arm, and Frankie wrapped hers around it, smiling back.
"How's my make up?"
"Looks like shit." She hit him with her bouquet and they laughed. They heard the music start, and both looked at each other, and Frankie took a deep breath. Whinnie stuck her head in grinning. "It's time guys."
-------------------------------------------------------------
The music continued, and everyone stood up. Lonnie was at the front with the pastor, fidgeting with his fingers and sweating a bit. He didn't understand why he was so nervous, and started to regret the amount of shots he consumed the night before. He looked out and saw Bubba, Sweet, Virgil and Parker almost busting a gut looking at him. If he were in a different place, he would have given them the finger. 'Okay, okay' Lonnie took a deep breath, 'Okay'...it seemed to be the only thing he could say to himself,
Until he saw her.
Frankie came out from the back, and Lonnie thought he had died and gone to heaven. His mouth fell open and he couldn't even blink. All he could do was stare at this angel, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. There were no words to describe how stunning she looked, and he felt tears begin to form in his eyes. She walked toward him with Tog on her arm, and the closer she got to him, the more butterflies he felt in his gut. When Frankie reached the front of the barn, Tog hugged and kissed her cheek, shook Lonnie's hand, and placed Frankie's in it. He couldn't stop staring at her, he felt warm all over.
"The Bride and Groom have asked that we forgo the long ceremony, in leu of the short and sweet one." The Pastor began and there were giggles from the guests. "So..." He said, clearing his throat; "Here we go,"
"Lonnie, do you take Francesca to be your wife, to always love her, to always have her back no matter what, to be there for her through thick and thin, for the rest of your life?"
He held her hands, and still couldn't stop staring at her.
"I do."
"Francesca, do you take Lonnie to be your husband, to always love him, to always have his back no matter what, to be there for him through thick and thin, for the rest of your life?"
Frankie was crying with a huge smile on her face, and she squeezed his hands tight.
"I do."
"The rings-" Lonnie and Frankie put the wedding bands on each other, and looked at the Pastor.
"With the power given to me by the state of Mississippi, I now pronounce you husband and wife – you may kiss the bride."
He smiled at both of them and they gently kissed, and the Pastor moved to the side and put his arm up to continue.
"I would like to introduce for the first time, Francesca, and Lonnie Jamison." They turned around to their guests and the whole place stood up cheering and clapping. It was awesome.
"Thank you!" Frankie yelled over the cheers "Now let's have some fun!"
There were more "woots" and claps as everyone made their way outside to the games, booze and food. It was a help yourself whenever you were hungry type buffet, as Louisiana Lou's set up an incredible spread of southern food; and because some of the officers had to get back to the station, they could eat before they went, and bring some take away for later too.
Lonnie looked at Frankie, "You look so beautiful Darlin', just like an angel." He couldn't stop touching her. He grabbed her hair and kissed her hard and her knees felt like rubber. She licked his lips, and smiled at him.
"I can't believe you did all this in a week...how'd you do that?
"I didn't do it alone, the girls did all this-" She moved her arm across the barn.
"It looks amazing... Mrs. Jamison" Lonnie put his finger under her chin and kissed her forehead, then her lips.
"Why thank you, Mr. Jamison" Frankie wrapped her arms around his neck and slid her tongue in his mouth and he moaned at the feeling.
"That is not church tongue Mrs. Jamison." Lonnie smiled at her.
"Does this look like a church to you...Lieutenant?" Frankie bit her lip, looking up at him and Lonnie grabbed her, roughly pulling her close to him and she sighed.
"Hey! You guys coming or what?" Marty stood at the doors with her hands on her hips and they smiled and headed outside together.
Everyone seemed to be having a really good time regardless if they were eating, drinking, gaming, or all of them. Frankie had chartered two buses to shuttle people to and from town, or their hotels for the entire evening, so folks were pretty relaxed with the liquor. After the main course was close to being gone, she also had a pizza, sweet and fruit table catered for those "late nighters" who wanted to stay until they got the boot.
There were special tables dedicated just to the kids of the guests, who found Marty's centerpiece signs that read "Hope you have your fat pants on" especially hilarious. The younger kids had coloring books and crayons on them instead of the flowers that went with the signs, and the older ones had their phones and were good on their own.
"You even thought of this," Lonnie pointed to the kids' stuff, and went to kiss Frankie and they all stood up with disgusted looks on their small faces "that's gross Lonnie" and started leaving. He was surprised, and Frankie was in hysterics, bent over laughing. He looked at her, and laughed at how she was laughing. It was the funniest thing he'd ever heard come out of another person.
"So," He began "We haven't really talked about kids yet..." He trailed off and Frankie turned to him, listening. "I want-" She grabbed him and kissed him hard. She looked into his eyes and smiled.
"I want a family with you; two or three children, close together..."
He looked at her wide eyed. "You've thought about it?" He didn't think she had, she had never brought it up, whereas he did.
"Yes, of course I have...do you-"
"Yes" He was excited "Yes two or three, and close together." He had always wanted a family, but never thought he'd find anyone to do that with, until her.
Frankie held his hands and smiled at him. He wrapped his arms around her, and they walked down a forested path lit up by beautiful string lights. The sun had just started to set, and the pinks and oranges crept through the tree line as they walked.
They could hear the music, and their friends laughter and they smiled.
"I love you Frankie." Lonnie kissed her gently.
"I love you too." She kissed him back, and sighed.
They walked down the path until they reached the creek, and went down and sat on an old log near the edge. They listened to the ripples of the water, and watched the birds and ducks swim around, and the sun setting down under the trees.
They sat there for a long while, just holding on to each other tightly. They didn't even need to speak, they knew what the other one was feeling, and they felt warm in each other's arms.
They had finally found the one – their one; the one person their souls had searched for their entire lives.
They were happy, and completely content.
Finally, together. Forever.
