Sixteen - Here With Me
("Good Life" by Inner City-1988. Still an amazing song after all these years...and fits very well with Lonnie and Frankie's current direction :)
"Lonnie Jamison?" An orderly came in the room with bottles of prescriptions and something for the pain in a plastic bag. "Here's your goodie bag," he joked "and you'll be seeing Doctor Frank Robb at Newman County Hospital for your follow up in a week. Do you have assistance while at home?" Lonnie looked at him puzzled. "If you don't you can request a PSW to come to help you. You can arrange that with Doctor Robb when you see him." The orderly left and Lonnie looked at the bottles confused.
"Why do I have all these pills?"
"'You had surgery," Frankie grinned and shook her head "You'll need antibiotics to prevent infection, pain meds for pain, blood thinners so there is no clotting around where they were digging inside you, and muscle relaxants so your body can heal from where they had to reconstruct your muscle." Lonnie looked at her with his mouth open and she laughed.
"How do you know this?" Frankie looked and him and smiled but didn't answer. "I can't remember to take all this, are they crazy?"
"I can." She walked up to him, standing on her tip toes she kissed his pouty lips.
"You gonna be my sexy nurse?" He wiggled his brows and wrapped his arms around her, then winced at the movement. She held his arms until he regrouped.
"Come on studly" She teased, "let's get you home."
-------------------------------------------------
"Okay now...now let's everybody take a breath, and we'll figure this out!" Chief Gillespie yelled into the police station. Andrzej Kaczynski stood patiently waiting. He turned and spoke to his men quickly, then turned back facing the front. All five of them put their fire arms on the desk and returned to their stance behind Kaczynski.
"Is this satisfactory Captain?" He asked the Chief. "It's Chief; and yes, I suppose this will do. We will have to frisk you - each of you...you understand why?"
"My apologies - Chief. In my country, the leader of men is Captain or Commander. Yes I understand your apprehension. May we enter now?"
Tog looked at Bill "Let us do it. We know where they hide their extras, you don't."
"Fair enough." Bill agreed "Okay, one at a time."
Tog and Six Pack went over them like they had done this hundreds of times before. They took their coats and ripped seams to secret pockets and extra cuffs in pant legs hidden by pleats. They lifted up their shirts exposing their ripped chests and stomachs because guns are usually taped there, they removed hair ties and patted down their heads for small surgical knives, made them remove their footwear, checked their socks...Bill and Virgil looked on in aww at how thorough Tog and Six Pack were. No one from Sparta P.D. would have looked in any of those places, and they were grateful for the help. Tog nodded to the Chief and Virgil extended his arm in the direction of the conference room.
"Gentlemen, this way." Kaczynski and his men walked into the conference room with Tog, Six Pack, Bill, Virgil, and half of Sparta P.D. behind them.
----------------------------------------------------
Lonnie unlocked the door to his apartment, stopping before it opened he turned to Frankie with a look of uncertainty on his face.
"What is it?"
He rolled his lips up before he continued. "I live alone you know, and my place is, well...I reckon is not what you're used to." He sounded almost embarrassed and she didn't understand why.
"I don't understand - what I'm used to, what does that mean? Do you think I'll think it's crappy or bad or something?"
He sighed and looked in her beautiful eyes.
Lonnie struggled to say what he wanted to say to her. He wanted to say that he thought she deserved a big house with a porch and chairs in the front so they could have drinks in the summer together, and a beautifully decorated bedroom like at the Fairview Inn so he could carry her in there, and a big kitchen so they could have all their friends over for dinner and parties, and a big yard where they could watch their children play and have BBQ's...He wanted to say she deserved all those things and more. And he wanted to give her all those things and more. He just didn't know how to say it to her, and he was driving himself fucking nuts over it.
Frankie sensed his struggle, and she ran her hand down his face, and his shoulders relaxed instantly. She licked his lips, and smiled at him.
"I don't know if this is it, but I don't care where you live, what it looks like, if it's big, small whatever. I don't want your apartment Lonnie, I want you."
He grabbed her hair and pressed his mouth to hers, and she sighed and her knees felt like rubber.
"Okay, can we go in now Lieutenant?" He laughed and pushed open the door.
Frankie was surprised, it was really clean and organized. Not that she thought Lonnie was a slob, but long shifts at the station and being a single man does tend to harbor the stereotype of 'messy with a pile of dishes in the sink'.
"I have a lady come in - I didn't do this." Frankie laughed out loud and he smiled from ear to ear. Her laugh was the funniest laugh he'd ever heard, and he loved it. He leaned on the armchair and she held him until he steadied himself.
"You need to rest. Is that the bedroom?" He nodded and she helped him to it, and lifted his legs up on the bed. Yanking the blankets from the under the mattress, she fluffed them up and tucked him in. She went in the bathroom and put the pill bottles on the counter after taking out the ones he needed now, and filled a glass of water. Frankie walked back to Lonnie's bedside and placed the pills and water there, then left for the kitchen. He didn't know what she was doing, and he was going to ask but she left the room.
"Frankie!?" she came back in with a pad of paper and a rough chart drawn on it. He watched her move around, 'She must have been a medic, or nurse.' he thought.
"Okay; now..." She cleared her throat. "The pills are color coded, so is the chart. I don't know what happened to my phone, I'd prefer to do this on that but whatever..."She went on to explain the different times correlating to different colors and he didn't hear a thing. All he could do was watch his beautiful lady take care of him. His heart had never known such contentment and happiness as it did with her. She was his, she was the one.
---------------------------------------------------
Kaczynski sat on one of the chairs in the conference room at the far end of the table. His left arm casually resting on the back of it, while the five men stood behind him, hands folded in front of them.
"I am not one to waste time I do not have" he began, rubbing the grey stubble on his cheek, "So let me get right to it: I had nothing to do with the abduction of your officer, or the woman; nor was I, or any of my associates responsible for any harm that came to the boy in Gulfport."
"How did you know about Roach?" Six Pack asked, his attempt to hide his disdain for Kaczynski failing miserably.
"I have my ways of knowing what is happening at all times. Make no mistake." He looked at Six Pack with the eyes of a father who's patients was wearing thin.
"We're you and you're people responsible for the shootings in Sparta Square that morning?" Bill asked.
"Partly. Yes." Bill went to open his mouth and Kaczynski cut him off. "Unbeknownst to this department, David's organization had attacked my interests at the Ports, killed some of my men. My orders to my men were to find and bring that filth to me. They shot at them, and my men shot back. It was an unfortunate occurrence that this department got involved; however I am aware of why you had no choice. But my target was not you're officers." He rearranged himself in the chair and continued. "David eluded us that night, however information from some of his men let us know where he was going."
"What's at the ports?" Virgil asked.
"Nothing but grain. Did you really think that I'd leave anything illegal there for you to find? Get a warrant, and go see for yourselves. You may want to check the other smaller shipments that came in after mine - the ones belonging to David's organization. Me coming to those ports was a great distraction for him, and he took full advantage of that. He knew you'd only look to me... Here-" He waved two fingers and one of his men bent down to open a case and every cop in the room drew their guns and pointed at him. The man stopped and put his hands up, looking at his boss, and Kaczynski looked at the Chief and Virgil.
"Go ahead." Bill said, guns still pointed at the man. He took out a stack of papers and handed them to his boss. Kaczynski looked at Bill and threw the stack on the table and it spread across the top like a deck of cards.
"Shipping documents for the last two months. Now understandably you will think I left certain ones out that pertain to me. I urge you to contact Cargo Control - U.S. customs and Boarder Protection agency. They will have a digital account for your convenience."
Tog picked up one of the papers. Looking it over he nodded to Six Pack. "There real. How'd you get these?"
"That is of no importance." Kaczynski said nonchalantly "What matters is they are here."
"What the hell..." Bubba walked in the conference room and was completely taken back by what he saw "Just what the hell is going on here?" Luann and Sweet came in behind him and looked at each other like they just walked into the twilight zone.
"Chief, Virgil - can I see you a moment out there." Bubba motioned to reception and they walked out, Parker getting Luann and Sweet up to speed while the other officers held steady with their pistols pointed at their guests.
"Just what the hell is going on in there?" Bubba was flabbergasted.
"I'll explain in a minute" Virgil assured him "What did you find?"
"As I thought no asbestosis, and no Caddy; but we did find a ton of surveillance equipment in the attic - operational equipment to boot, not old stuff. But that's not the only place we found things; the Floyd house also had a ton of surveillance in the attic. The thing is, there's no access to the attic in the Floyd house from anywhere else but through a tiny utility closet tucked behind a double wall in one of the bedrooms. When Sweet and Dee went there - 'member when Lonnie first got the call for the B&E?-
"Uh, yeah I do recall. Speaking of Jamison..." Bill looked at Virgil "we should get a hold of him and get him up to speed."
"Agreed. Bubba, would you going that way? If not I can get Luann-"
"Nope, I'll go. I've got his phone, I reckon he'll want it back. Anyhow-" He continued what he was saying prior "There's no way Dee and Sweet would have known it was there, the way to the attic. When we arrived, everyone had vacated the house after Frankie contacted them. Only reason we knew about the attic access this time, was 'cause Marie showed us."
"Who's Marie?" Bill asked confused.
A voice came from the front door. "I am." She waved, and Bill and Virgil looked at her dumfounded.
"Now" Bubba began "Is someone gonna tell me what the hell is going on here?"
------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie gently removed Lonnie's arm that was glued around her mid-section and wiggled out of bed, careful not to wake him.
She walked in the kitchen and opened the fridge to see pretty much nothing but two boxes of take out, a bottle of hot sauce, mustard, something that at one point was food but has since become a science experiment, and some bread. She giggled and covered her mouth with her hand. 'What the hell is this?' She thought. Rummaging through the cupboards she found almost as little as she did in the fridge.
"So, the stereotype is actually true." She whispered and smiled. "Alright, to the grocery store I'll go."
Lonnie woke up and felt a mattress under his arm instead of Frankie and he sat up suddenly and whined in pain from the movement. His head darted back and forth. She wasn't here.
"FRANKIE!" He yelled in his deep southern drawl and she ran into the room.
"What! What's wrong!" He tried to get out of bed and she stopped him. "What's the matter?" She could tell he was visibly worried but had no clue why. "Lonnie,' she ran her hand down his chest "Are you okay? Is it the incision...?" Frankie went to look and he took her hand and held it.
"No that's fine. It's just that..." He took a deep breath "The last time I woke up and you were gone you got kidnapped by a crazy asshole. I don't want you going anywhere without me or the officers from Sparta P.D." It came out like an order and she looked at him with her eye brows up.
"What?"
"I said-"
"I heard you the first time. Lonnie; I am not going to be coddled like a princess or have my freedom squashed because you're afraid or what might happen if I do things independently of you. I can appreciate how you feel, believe me, but I won't hide because of it." He tried to speak and she cut him off " Furthermore, you have zero food in your apartment, so I am going to get us something to eat. Have you seen your fridge?" He was mad, she could see it. He did not like the defiance, but there was no way she'd be able to live like that to make him feel secure. It was an unreasonable mind set to have in her opinion.
"Now you listen to me-" His deep, manly voice gave her butterflies and her knees felt weak at the sound, but she was adamant.
"Lonnie - I'm going to the grocery store." Frankie stood up and walked out of the room leaving him there with his arms crossed fuming. She made him angry. So angry.
She opened the front door and gasped stepping back as Bubba was just about to knock at the door.
"Oh, sorry 'bout that. You on your way out?"
"Hi Bubba - grocery store. Do you need me to stay?"
"Naw, I'll most likely be hear when you get back anyhow. You wanna take the truck? Probably a better idea then Lonnie's corvette".
"Yeah? You sure?"
"Yep"
"Great. I'll try to be quick."
"No rush, as I say I'll be here when you get back. Got a lot of things to fill Lonnie in on."
"Thanks!" He threw her the keys and waved, walking in and shutting the door behind him.
Bubba stood at the door with his hands on his hips nodding in approval 'I'll have to ask who takes care of his place for him; looks good' he thought.
"Frankie!" Lonnie yelled form the bedroom.
"No - Bubba!. You up for a chat?" Lonnie knew he was here to fill him in and was grateful for the visit. Not only was he feeling a bit useless in his current state, but it would also take his mind off Frankie being alone...without him. Lonnie knew full well what he wanted was irrational, and he also knew she'd never go for it because it was so irrational, but he couldn't help himself. That was his lady, and he really didn't give two shits what he sounded like. He was a Southern man; and Southern men don't mess around when it comes to their ladies. Period.
"Hey Lonnie, you look better than I thought son, how you feelin'?"
"Better, thanks. So what's going on with the investigation into Rizonou? Did you find the Caddy?"
Bubba sat on the arm chair across for the bed and put his foot up on his knee. "Better make yourself comfortable Lonnie, I'll be here for a while."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie parked Bubba's truck on the road in front of Lonnie's apartment. She was glad he offered, she'd have to make several trips back and forth to get all the groceries here with the Corvette. She laughed remembering how long it took him to squish two small bags in there when he took her to The Fairview Inn, it was like watching Monty Python.
She knocked on the door, almost dropping the third paper bag she had pinched between her fingers.
"Lonnie? What are you doing out of bed! Where's Bubba?" He liked that she was a little angry that he was up. He liked it a lot.
"He'll be back he just had to go to his apartment to pick something up...How was the store?"
"Fine, uneventful.." She gave him a 'told you so' look and walked by him with the bags, placing them on the small table. "I have to get the rest. Go back to bed." She took his arm and walked him back to his room and tucked him in.
"You're one bossy lady." He whispered, and pulled her close.
"I know." She purred back and put her lips on his, kissing him hard. He wrapped his hand in the waves of her hair and yanked her closer, and she let out a breathy moan. They were lost in each other and kissed like it was the first time; every kiss they had was like the first time. Frankie ran her hands down his chest and licked his bottom lip. She looked down at the sheets and giggled, he just stared at her with a big smile on his face.
"People could camp under that."
"Oh come on now..."
They heard the door open and he covered himself with one of the pillows while Frankie headed for the kitchen.
"Got the rest of your stuff. I gotta get heading back; Lonnie can fill you in on what we spoke about. Take good care of my boy Frankie, I wanna see him back at the station real soon ya hear." He winked and waved on his way out. She thanked him for the use of his truck and locked the door.
She went back to the room to find Lonnie on his phone, his hands resting on the pillow that covered the appendage underneath.
"Did anyone find my phone?"
"Bubba didn't say, I'll text him..." Lonnie contacted Bubba and Frankie went over the pill chart and handed him more pills and a glass of water.
She was standing faced away from him and he ran his hand down her lower back, and over her cheeks. He slid his hand up the bottom of her skirt and pushed his hand in between her legs, moving her back toward him.
Pulling her back to sit on the bed and lean her back on his chest, he ran his hands up her shirt and under her bra, squeezing her breasts and she moaned loudly. Frankie lifted her arm up and around his neck and he kissed her hard. Lonnie shoved his hand pasted the waistband of her long skirt down to where her panties should have been. He growled, realizing she wasn't wearing any, and grabbed her face turning it toward his. He was breathing hard and his lips were parted 'Fuck she's sexy as hell'. Frankie looked at him and smirked, and he tightened his grip and she moaned, licking his entire mouth nice and slow, not breaking his stare one time. Lonnie pushed his fingers inside her and her head flew back and her legs fell apart at his touch. She tightened around them and he moaned at the feeling of her. He hit every spot just right and her moans turned into cries as her body began to tremble. He quickly pulled his fingers from inside her and she yelled at the disconnect.
"Lon...nnie..." Frankie stared at him moaning, and he loved it.
"I told you - I couldn't wait to have you again." He whispered in her ear as he lifted her up and turned her to face him. His muscular arms moved her body and she hitched one leg over his hips. He could feel her wetness on his stomach and he groaned deeply.
"Lonnie..." Her voice was breathy and sultry and it made him harder with every word she spoke. "We can't, your surg-" He crashed his mouth in hers and her body completely gave into him.
"We can..." He lifted her up and placed her down slowly onto him and she cried out at the feeling. He wasn't a small man, and he filled her deeply, making it hard for her to keep herself upright. She held onto the headboard and moved up, but didn't come back down, she just stayed there, smirking at him. He hissed at her and grabbed her hips hard and slammed her down on him and she screamed, lost in pleasure. She held on to the headboard and he moved her hips roughly until she began trembling and he began cursing loudly into the room. Sweat dripped from his temples and he moaned thrusting himself inside her deeper until she cried out his name and collapsed on his chest; He yelled out and filled her with himself, the intensity consuming him.
She kissed his face and put her hands there, feeling the roughness of his skin. He looked good with stubble, and she kissed him all over as he closed his eyes and smiled. She waited until he had softened inside her to sit up, and move off of him. She went to the bathroom and Lonnie watched her come back with a warm soapy cloth and a towel. She kissed him again, and gently washed where the incision was. He could definitely get used to her being here, with him, together, always.
Frankie undressed in front of him beside the bed, and he put his hands behind his head watching her. She tossed her clothes on the floor and put on one of his t shirts for bed. She looked amazing in his t-shirt, it hung off her shoulders and came to the middle of her thigh. She stepped through cotton boy shorts and pulled them up. Lonnie could see her tight cheeks and the high cut of them and he ran his hand over top of himself.
"So you did have underpants." He smirked looking at her.
She gave him a sexy side eye and climbed into bed sliding under the covers. She rested her head on his chest and draped her arm across his stomach. He pulled her close, kissing her forehead and holding her tight.
He decided it was time he told her just how he felt about her, and what he wanted to do about it. Even the thought of exposing this part of him made him uncomfortable, and nervous, but he loved her, and would never let her go. She was his - his one.
Lonnie smiled and took a deep breath in, looking down at his chest at Frankie sleeping peacefully. He kissed her forehead again, and drifted off with her in his arms, completely content.
