|82| Western Orange Van

Jaden

"Breathe in... Then out..." I told Nicki as I deeply breathed in sync with her, trying to help her control her own.

We were in the house now that we had finished the morning walk. I was proud of her for pushing through it and I think letting her eat a cup of ice helped her gain energy back and cool down enough to do it. When she entered the house though, she began to heat up again so I had to continue helping her control her own breathing and try to get her to cool down.

"Jaden... Get me some water..." she panted.

I dabbed her face and neck down with a wet towel which, in fact, was only wet because she's been sweating so much. I tried not to sound worried as I told her, "I'll be right back." before heading to the kitchen to get her a cup of ice water. Seeing her like this did worry me but I tried not to show it so that she would stay calm.

My phone suddenly rang in my pocket and I quickly picked it up on the first ring when I saw who it was.

"I'm so glad you called, man. When are you going to be home?"

Simon chuckled for a moment, "I'll be home as soon as I can, I hope she's not giving you too much trouble."

"No... Not really. She's just giving me a lot of work."

And a lot to worry about...

"I can understand that. How is she anyway?"

I rested my elbows on the kitchen counter with a sigh, "She's handling it really well for the most part. She just gets exhausted easily and she sweats a lot."

"Oh wow... Give her a cold pack and turn the A.C down a bit for now. After I handle this robbery case, I'll be down there to help."

"Robbery case? Isn't that supposed to be a police problem, not secret services....?"

He sighed, "Yes, but this is a robbery on our property... Our engineers reported that the weapon laboratory has been broken into and over 22 million dollars of our highest quality firearms and machinery has been stolen."

I winced, "How recent was this?"

"It happened somewhere around 3 am. We just found that out a few hours ago after we analyzed the evidence found at the scene."

I rubbed my chin suspiciously, "How did the thief get passed security."

"We're still trying to figure that out..." he paused and I heard a faint voice in the background informing him about the details of the case he spoke of. After a moment, Simon returned to me, "Listen, I have to take care of this. I'll call you back as soon as I can, son."

"Wait, wait, wait! Can I check out the scene? I'll bring Nicki with me. Maybe we can help you guys find-"

"Oh no, no, no..." he interrupted. "Nicole has to stay at home. You know she's in no shape to work."

Oh damn, her drink!

I snatched the cup out of the dishwasher and rushed to the fridge to fill it halfway with ice. "Yeah, yeah, you're right. Hope you guys find the criminal, see ya later!"

"Are you-"

I hung the phone up and quickly filled the cup up with water then ran back to one of the bedrooms downstairs with my hand over the cup so I wouldn't spill it.

How the hell did I already forget about her?

I barged into the room, finding Harris and Maria trying to cool Nicole down. She was dripping sweat everywhere and panting heavily and I blame myself completely for that.

"Here, I got your-"

"What took you so fucking long!" She groaned angrily.

"I'm sorry, baby. Simon called me. and-"

"I don't give a fuck!" She screamed, reaching towards the bedside counter then suddenly throwing the lamp at me.

My heart froze for a moment but it began to beat just in time for me to duck from the flying furniture and hear the screams and yelling coming from Maria and Harris as they tried to calm her down. Instead of letting the lamp kill me, it smashed into the wall, just above my head and shattered to pieces.

"Calm down!" Harris yelled and forcefully held her hands down.

She glared at me and panted heavily as I cautiously approached her and held the cup of water out to her, "You'll feel better if you drink this..."

After a tense moment of her glaring deep into my soul, she gently reached out with her hands slightly shaking. Her eyes never left mine as she took the plastic cup and crushed it angrily before throwing it in my face then yanking me down to her level, "Take me... To Dr. Walton... NOW!" she screamed.

"O- okay. Whatever you want, baby."

She shoved me away from her and leaned her back against the headboard, fanning herself. I've seen her overheat before but it was never like this. She couldn't control herself and her breathing was a lot more narrow. I tried not to freak out about it because it could just be the baby growing and I'm sure Walton would know exactly how to fix her symptoms before the baby is due.

Harris and Maria stepped in to help me get Nicole out of bed and walk her out to the car. Just as we were progressing towards the front door of the house, my phone rang again. This time it was Tyler.

I'll call him back later.

I let the phone ring as we headed out of the house and towards the car. When Maria went to get the passenger door, Tyler called again.

I answered it this time as I lifted Nicole into the car after Maria opened the door, "What?" I asked him.

"Oh. Someone's in a bad mood." he chuckled.

I thanked Maria and Harris before I closed the door and rushed to the driver's side, "What do you want, man. I don't have much time for this." I told Tyler.

"Alright, alright. I'll cut to the point... The HQ was robbed and-"

I groaned loudly and started the car, "I've already heard about it. There's nothing I could do about it and there's nothing Nicki could do if that's why you're calling. Just figure it out."

I drove onto the road and turned the A.C to it's coolest setting for Nicki. As I was trying to head towards the neighborhood's exit, we were slowed down by a stupid van who decided to cut in front of me but I kept my thoughts in my head so I could listen as Tyler told me, "I'm not calling for help and we're already close to figuring out what happened. We found a car key that was left behind at the scene."

I bit my lip with furrowed eyebrows, "Fingerprints?"

"There were no fingerprints. They must've had a pair of gloves on or something but we tracked down the serial number on the key to find what type of vehicle it was. You won't believe what we found."

I got to a stoplight and held Nicki's hand for comfort as she panted heavily. "Tell me," I demanded Tyler.

"An orange, western-styled van..."

I shrugged, "Okay... Is it like the one right beside me?"

"Is there an orange van beside you?"

I chuckled before he could start panicking, "Well, it's not orange nor western."

"This is serious, Jaden. This van is orange and western..."

I shook my head, "I get that... What else?"

"What do you mean, 'what else'? It's the same vans from the Twisted Reality cast, dumbass! Fire Catcher may be dead but one of her members is still out, seeking revenge!"

My heart almost stopped as the light turned green. I let go of Nicki's hand with a deep breath to continue driving, trying to stay calm so she wouldn't freak out about this. "I thought all of this shit was finished..."

"We all did, but hey. We don't have all the details yet, maybe it doesn't belong to the Twisted Reality anymore. We're still searching."

"Jaden..." Nicki said but I held up a quick finger so I could ask Tyler a quick question.

"Did you notify Simon? What if it's Freak Show?"

"Freak Show?" Nicole asked.

"No, don't worry, baby," I told her before continuing with Tyler.

"We checked with the officers and he's still locked up in prison," he told me. "Agent Madelyn is going through the list of assassinated TR members to narrow our suspects down."

"Okay, that's... Good..." I narrowed my eyes at my rearview mirror, noticing a row of vans forming behind us. The white one that was next to us earlier was leading a squad of orange ones...

"Jaden..." Nicki panted.

"I see it too, Nicki..." I said, slowing down in front of another stoplight.

"No... No, Jaden! The baby's coming!" she exclaimed.

WHAT?!?!

"I- wh- how?! It's not due for another week!" I yelled back.

"The hell is going on?" Tyler asked with concern.

"Get to the hospital!" Nicki groaned in an evil, actually more like demonic, voice that almost scared me shitless.

I looked at the red light, then my rearview, then back to Nicole sitting on a wet seat now.

Fuck it! I already owe a lot of money.

I stomped on the gas and sped past the red light and suddenly, all of the vans behind me did the same, following our path.

What in the...

I widened my eyes when it hit me. We were being targeted.

Fucking... Shit!

Adrenaline and anxiety began to pump faster and faster when I tried to process everything that was going on around me while swerving around other cars and trucks in my path.

My girlfriend is about to give birth in my car, we're being followed by a bunch of Twisted Reality vans, should I go to the hospital? Should I try and hide us for safety?

"Tyler! Send help! We're being targeted!"

"By who?"

My palms became clammy and sweaty as I made sharp turns that only failed to lose those vans, "It's those TR vans! Why the fuck are they following us?"

"Jay, none of this is a joke-"

"I'm not playing!" I snapped in aggravation. I then took a deep breath to keep myself under control, "I was fooling around the first time but now, there's a whole squad of 'em on our tail!"

"Shit..." Tyler mumbled. "It's Nicole... She's the one who killed Fire Catcher. Hold on, I'll be there with some backup, asap."

"I can't hold on, bro!" I yelled. "Nicki is on the verge of giving birth in my fucking car!"

"I thought it wasn't due for another week!" he yelled back.

"Apparently not. Listen, I'm using one of the USSCI's Lamborghinis so you should be able to track us. Get help, and hurry!"

"Got it!"

I hung the phone up and focused on trying to lose those orange vans whilst trying to get to the hospital safely.

"Hold on, Nicki... Almost there..."

I groaned, knowing damn well that we were not even close to the hospital yet. That's okay though, we don't live too far from it anyway. The bigger problem was in the task of getting rid of these TR vans.

I made a sharp turn through a shopping center then screeched through to the road on the other side, hoping that it would slow them down.

So far, I think it did so I kept speeding down the path towards the hospital. I glanced over at Nicole, seeing her put her seatbelt on with a stunned look on her face as she panted heavily and deeply. It was evident that she had no idea what was going on and couldn't really focus through the pain but I could tell she was scared. I don't know if she was worried about the speed I was going or the fact that she might have to go through labor right now.

No... I'm getting her to that hospital!

When I looked in my rearview mirror, the army of five vans were back on our tail followed by the familiar red and blue flashing lights coming from none other than the police.

"Great... Just great!"

"Jaden!" Nicole groaned, biting down on the seat belt and punching a dent in the door, "Hurry up!"

"A-almost there... Just hold on!"

I screeched onto the next intersection but was suddenly rammed back in the other direction by an oncoming white van.

I quickly looked over at Nicki to make sure she was okay and the look on her face actually terrified me. I yanked the gear stick to reverse and circled backward around the speeding vans, dodging them before setting it back to drive and speeding down the next nearest intersection.

"Nicki, you good?" I asked, wiping sweat off of my forehead.

She shook her head silently and leaned back in her chair with a pained expression, "Jaden... We need to do this now! It can't wait, just stop the car and-"

"I'm getting you to the hospital, dammit!" I barked at her, making her shut her mouth quickly.

"Stop the car!" The police demanded this time, speaking to me and to the TR vans. When nobody stopped, shots began to fire.

"You've got to be kidding me..."

I let out a deep sigh and reached over in front of Nicole to yank the glovebox open. When it popped open, I pulled the AK-14 out and dropped it on Nicki's lap, "Hold that for me and lean your seat back." I knew this was going to get dangerous and I didn't need any flying bullets hitting her. She went ahead and did as I told her, breathing heavily and propping her legs up on the dashboard as if she was ready to just go into labor right now.

Dammit, Nicki. Don't do that...

I drifted the car NASCAR style and took a short cut through a children's playground, hoping it was as empty as it appeared as I sped through the volleyball field and rammed through the gate to make an exit on the street that led directly towards the hospital. When I steered back onto the road, I briefly turned my windshield wipers on to clear the vines and twigs from my vision.

I was beginning to think that going to the hospital is a lot more dangerous than I thought. I would have to stop and physically get out of the car, exposing myself as an easy target?

Nicki groaned loudly, slapping the door repeatedly, "I'm doing it now, Jaden... I can't-"

"No! We're almost there!" I gritted my teeth.

"The baby is right there, Jaden!" she huffed for a moment and wiped the sweat down from her face with the palm of her hand, "I can't hold it in any longer!"

"Yes, you-" I stopped and quickly pulled the bottom of her sundress up to take a quick glance, spotting a tiny portion of the top of the baby's head, "Shit..."

The hospital is just around the corner but that baby was not going to wait for that. Nicki must've been experiencing some serious torture from all of this...

My hands shook like crazy as I moved my hand up to grab hers. I swallowed my worries down and calmly told her, "Go ahead..."

She looked at me with fear and uncertainty in her eyes but I looked away and demanded, "Start pushing, Nicki!"

I kept my eyes focused on the road, hearing the gunshots behind us shoot back and forth between the cops and vans and feeling the pressure of Nicki's hand squeezing mine as she began to go into labor.

I swerved around the corner and into the parking lot of the hospital, colliding into another parked car by accident.

Okay, we're here... It's do or die now.

"How are you doing, baby?" I asked as I reached behind my seat to get the only bulletproof vest we had in the car and an assault rifle that was sitting next to it from my last mission in this car.

She panted and groaned, "This is fucking crazy..."

I nodded in agreement as I threw on the vest and carried the assault rifle under my arm. Whatever happens, Nicki is going to have that baby safely because I'm going to be her human shield.

"You'll get through it... I love you." I gave her a quick kiss on her hand before opening the door and hopping out of the car.

"Jaden... Jaden!" she called before I slammed the door shut.

As soon as I stepped outside, I felt a sudden urge to fight back fearlessly. I mean, to the death. Living was the last shit on my mind, my only concern was getting Nicki and my child to safety.

I pointed my rifle at one of the incoming vans and shot through the window, hitting the driver in the throat. His blood splattered across the broken window and the impact caused him to swerve out of control off of the lane and send him crashing through the construction site a few feet down.

I wasn't sure where the police went and I only saw two other vans making their way over to us. I took that as an opportunity to get my ass to the passenger side and grab Nicole out of the car.

She breathed heavily and unevenly, struggling to control it, "Jaden... I can't... I can't do it!"

"Nicole, take deep breaths..." I said wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm getting help right now."

She nodded and forced herself to breathe more normally as I checked under her dress to see her progress. I could see the baby's eyes and nose but it looked lifeless to me. My mind is so paranoid right now. Enough to make me truly believed that the thing was dead.

It's not, shut up...

I covered it back up then lifted Nicki out of the car bridal style and ran towards the hospital.

"Put that bitch down!" A voice boomed from behind me.

I didn't hesitate to run faster without looking back. I tried my best to keep Nicki covered because she was the one they really wanted. Suddenly, rapid gunfire began to fly in my direction and I had no other choice but to duck behind one of the parked cars.

Every single sick being out here is dead!

I laid Nicki on the ground then popped back up from behind the car to begin firing back at the people standing in front of three of the parked vans in the distance. Some of them came in pairs and some came alone but I didn't care, they were all dead to me. As I shot them down, I sang a little song in my head to make this whole experience less tense.

One sucka, two sucka, three sucka, four. All of these dumb bitches rotting on the floor.

I laughed as I aimed at the last sucka who was getting a bullet to the nuts. I glared as I put my finger on the trigger but he suddenly jerked back and fell to the ground with the top half of his head exploding completely off before I could pull it.

What just-

I looked down at Nicole, seeing her aiming the AK-14 I made her hold for me earlier. I didn't even realize she kept it with her. I almost smiled but then I began to realize something.

I can't leave her out here any longer...

I bit my lip, noticing the red and blue flashing lights rushing towards the parking lot, speeding in the mix of more of those orange vans along with the black hummers from the USSCI.

"Put your hands up where I could see them!" an officer demanded from the parking lot.

When I peeped up from behind the car, I realized that a few officers had their guns pointed at me while the rest tried to fight off those vans and the members of our team. I bent back down and kneeled next to Nicole, hearing the officers yell, "I said get the fuck up or I will have to resort to violence!"

I breathed heavily, my heart pounded rapidly, making it feel as though I had just run a marathon. I quickly checked on the baby again and chills ran down my spine when I saw that its whole head was out.

"No, no, no..." I needed to hurry. That baby could suffocate to death in that position without proper help.

I pulled my vest off and wrapped it around Nicole, lifting her up again and on the count of three, I was going to run towards that hospital with no regrets.

Ready...

Three!

I sprinted from behind the car and kept going towards the entrance, activating the screams and gunfire that spurred up in my surroundings.

Get to the hospital, get to the hospital!

That was the only thing on my mind as I bolted through the lot. I suddenly stumbled from a sharp pain in my leg but I kept my footing and kept running until I got to the entrance and barged inside.

"SOMEBODY HELP ME!" I shouted.

There were already a few doctors present who were tending to people who were mildly injured from the commotion, some even struggling to breathe from emotional shock but as soon as the attention was turned towards us, a few doctors immediately rushed over to help.

"Get the stretcher, this is urgent!" One of the doctors demanded when he quickly realized Nicki's condition.

My heart throbbed heavily in my chest, my hands were slightly shaking. Nothing else mattered besides the well being of my baby and Nicole.

And, right now, I was terrified for them.

In a matter of seconds, a few doctors suddenly came rolling in with a stretcher and I laid Nicki down on it. "Dr. Walton!" I demanded. "Take her to Dr. Walton!"

They nodded and rushed her down the hall as I followed behind them with my Rifle aimed, ready to shoot anyone who was planning on hurting her.

After a short moment, we made it to the room and the doctors moved Nicki from the stretcher to the hospital bed and immediately went to work with Dr. Walton at their side.

Being in this very room almost felt completely secure. Safe... As soon as the door shut, it was like nothing could hurt us now... That clearly wasn't true but it did help my mind ease up enough for me to think straight.

I took the gun from Nicole and rested it on the snack counter, next to mine before I knelt down and held her hand, kissing it tenderly, "You can do this, baby..."

After Walton looked at the baby, she quickly demanded all the doctors what they had to do before telling Nicole, "We have no choice on whether or not we could give you the epidural, you have to push through!"

Nicole nodded and began to push and breathe each time she was told to. I felt bad that she had to go through all of this pain and suffering and I didn't want her to feel like she's the only one being affected by this. It hurt me just as much just to see her like this.

"Push!" Walton demanded again.

Nicki harshly squeezed my hand, causing them to turn red at the pressure as she followed Walton's commands. All I could do is kiss her hand over and over and motivate her, hoping it would do any good.

"You can do it, Nicki..." I whispered to her.

All of a sudden, the window behind us shattered to pieces and bullets began to fly inside, forcing all of us to scream and duck out of the way but I didn't let go of Nicki's hand. The only person who didn't budge was Dr. Walton who stayed in front of Nicki to complete the delivery.

"Focus on me, Nicole! Push!" she demanded.

I let go of Nicki's hand and reached for my Rifle then I gave her a kiss on her forehead, "Just a little more..." I told her before rushing towards the window, where the bullets came through.

I ducked on the side, noticing some blood dripping down my leg. I knew it was a gunshot wound from when I was sprinting down the parking lot because I had felt it earlier. Fuck it, I have bigger shit to worry about.

I pulled my shirt off and tied it tightly over the wound then clicked my gun back, aiming through the open hole in the window and began shooting out the muthafuckers who were attempting to kill my only loves. My body vibrated as the gun rapidly spat bullets into the men who were targeting us.

I smiled when I noticed that the USSCI gained more control over the Twisted Reality and even got the cops to work with them. I mainly aimed for the thugs that were making their way towards the hospital as the others took care of the rest.

The ones I had to deal with were pretty easy targets because those dumbasses weren't very aware of their surroundings. I popped each of their heads open like they were a sheet of bubble wrap. One of the assassins spotted me and paused to stare at me in shock as I aimed at him with my much bigger weapon. I smiled, polishing my gun with the bottom of my tank top before blowing him up into a puddle of blood.

Little bitch... I clenched my jaw as I aimed to shoot another.

BANG!

I froze when I heard a loud gunshot go off closely behind me.

Nicki!

I whipped around only to find out that Nicki was the one who had shot at someone near the room.

She panted and looked at me with her eyes wide as I went to kiss her forehead. She then pointed toward the room's entrance speechlessly.

"What? Is someone still there?" I asked.

She nodded and I nodded back to let her know that I would take care of that.

Face to face...

I headed to the long silver desk and swiped all of the doctor's equipment off of it so I could prop it up over the hole in the window. Just for safesies, I pushed the snack table against that so it would stay up. Anything could help.

"You guys, please keep her safe for me..."

The doctors nodded as Walton continued to guide Nicki through the delivery.

I drew my gun out in front of me and cautiously made my way towards the entrance... The suspense and expectation to be attacked by surprise were too much for me. It began to make me so fucking angry now.

Dammit, come out so I could murder you!

I crept through the oddly quiet hall and tried to find the little fucker. The only sound I could hear were those of the muffled yelling and gunshots coming from outside.

Come out, come out so you could catch this bullet shithead...

"Jad-"

I swung the back of my gun at the person then sent my fist crashing into the person's face. I swiftly grabbed him by the shirt and rammed him into the wall, shoving the gun to his head.

Wait... Are those boobs?

I winced and yanked her ski mask off. Chills running throughout my entire body when I instantly realized who this was.

"What the fuck? Rebecca?"

She took in a deep, uneasy breath with nervousness panicking in her eyes as she looked at me and, as calmly as she could, asked me, "Let me explain..."

Let you explain...

LET YOU EXPLAIN?!

I angrily gripped her neck and forced her back against the wall. This girl is really about to make me lose my sanity! "This is all you... You planned all of this, didn't you?!"

She grabbed my wrist, her eyes locked in mine as she pleaded, "Jaden... Hear me out... Please, just listen..."

I gritted my teeth and loosened my grip a bit to let her continue.

This oughta be interesting...

"Jaden... I care about you, I really do but I can't let you go through with this. You're having a child with an unstable woman who would only abandon you and your child just so she could fulfill her own selfish needs! I don't care if you don't want to be with me, be with whoever you want but don't choose Nicole... You don't know her as I do!"

I shook my head, mortified, "Is this what all of this is about? You terrorized my family just because you're jealous of her?!"

"No!" She immediately interjected. "I'm not jealous of her... I'm not jealous of what you two have either. What you need to understand is that you're nothing to her but leverage. She craves power, she craves the sense of being superior and by being so blind to that, you've made yourself easy for her to do that by using you."

I shook my head in disbelief.

She doesn't know what she's saying... She's crazy.

"Don't you see?" She gritted her teeth. "She's just like her mother... All she knows is destruction, all she knows is pain... She'll betray you and she'll betray the agency..."

I sighed, "Rebecca... The only one betraying everyone is you... Nicki is nothing like Fire Catcher."

"You're too naive, Jaden... Just like everyone else..." She glared. "This is exactly why I had to take this into my own hands. Because none of you could accept the fact that she isn't who she seems... The wickedness... Viciousness... It runs in her blood."

"What has she ever done to you!" I snapped at her, my chest aching from the words she spoke. "So she's related to an evil woman but that's all there is. She isn't the same person as Fire Catcher, she's never done anything to betray any of us. She's never used me-"

"Enough, Jaden..." She held a hand up to make me stop as she giggled softly, "I don't expect you to notice it, she's already tainted you. But one day, you'll see... You'll see that the only thing she's ever cared about was being superior. To rise above anyone who she believes is standing in her way. That she was the one who envies me..."

"You're insane," I told her. "You've really lost it."

She gazed at me for a moment, her face softening a bit. As if she didn't expect me to say such a thing. "Am I? Or are you just too afraid to accept the truth?"

When I remained unconvinced, she sighed, "Do you really think she could ever be capable of loving anyone, Jay?" She asked. "She strives to be on top and she's been fighting to take every position from me because I was as close to the top as they come... She thinks she's won now... Stealing all my medals from my fingertips, lowering my ranks, kicking me off the team, turning everyone against me... And now you." She bit her lip painfully, "The one thing I thought I could never lose, the one friend I thought I would never lose... She took that too..."

My heart wrenched in my chest as I watched the pain smear across her expression. As a tear rolled down the surface of her cheek when she added, "You'll hate me-"

"No..." I nearly whispered. "Rebecca, you've got this all wrong. No one has turned against you, no one is out to get you."

She gently moved my hands away, "Jaden... You'll hate me for testing my theories... It's how I know..."

My eyes widened at her.

The hell does that mean?

She went ahead and told me, "The reports... The drugs, the rumors... They were tests for me to see exactly how much power she holds in the agency... Odds always worked in her favor to the point that she had you all against me before anyone knew who was behind it all..." Her voice began to tremble now, "Killing her was the last thing I wanted to do to her but letting her get her way would only jeopardize the agency as well as this country..."

I almost felt sorry for her...

She's desperate. Even if she truly does believe with her entire heart that Nicole was out to get her and take over the team, she just admitted to committing some extremely immoral and reckless crimes against her own member.

I sighed, "I can see where your anger is coming from but you're lost... The things that's gotten taken from you, the people who's slipped out of your life... That happened because of your obsession with Nicole... You only have yourself to blame."

"Stop it..." She let out a deep breath, "Stop saying that... I can't let her win this way..."

"Rebecca... This isn't the way to solve anything..." I told her, taking her hands, "Killing her... It won't solve a thing."

She swallowed, letting a tear fall, "I know and I've regretted how far all of this went but... But I don't have a choice now. I've already come this far, the police already want me dead... I have to finish what I've started."

"No." I interrupted. "You have to do the right thing." I gripped her hands in mine and she began to shake her head repeatedly as I added, "I promise if you walk out right now and surrender, they'll spare your life, please... Just come with me. Everything will be fine."

"You're making me turn myself in?"

I nodded and she gazed at me in nothing but speechlessness and hurt as I began to walk her out of the hall. She knows that she would have to face the consequences for what she's caused. She knows that this whole episode was the wrong thing for her to resort to.

She suddenly kneed me in the gut then yanked my Assault Rifle off of my body strap and whipped me in the face with it before pointing it at me, "I'm not going anywhere, Jaden..."

I grabbed my jaw and looked up at her with shock as she continued to tell me, "I'm sorry, sweetie, but you'll have to stay out of this." She rose one of her hands to her ear and clicked an earpiece on, ordering, "You still there...? Good. Take her out." Before a hooded man barged into the hall and immediately kicked into Nicole's room, triggering screams and hollers.

What the- NO!!!

"NICOLE- AGH!!" Before I could dart after him, Rebecca jabbed the nose of the rifle to my gut, causing me to become breathless with coughs as I fell to the ground gripping my stomach. She then swiftly grabbed the plug to the nearby vending machine and tied it around my neck to keep me from going anywhere.

"You'll understand soon." She told me.

Soon, rapid gunfire sounded from inside of Nicole's room and my heart plummeted to my stomach, making my hands grow cold in fear. Each bullet triggering a flashback to when I lost Misty...

No...

I can't lose any more people I love!

"NO!!! NICOLE!!" I cried out, attempting to go after her but was easily being held back by the cord knotted around my neck.

Rebecca watched me pitifully, "I'd say I'm sorry but, believe me, you'll be thanking me soon..."

She's done it...

Nicole, I... I couldn't save her.

I dropped to my knees and began to sob, my chest burned from the lack of oxygen and my mind began to spin in all directions...

Nicole...

My child...

This can't happen... I can't lose any more people... I can't!

My hands trembled as I gripped the cord, holding them between the gap to keep it from completely suffocating me, "You're... You're sick!" I groaned painfully.

"And you'll never understand all of this." She suddenly pointed her gun to me. "I'll save you the misery and make this quick."

I could only gaze at her. I became so numb that I had no reaction to the weapon that would take my breath away with one button. Seeing the inside of that barrel was like looking at my final moment.

But I had no reaction to that...

"What? No begging? Don't make this easy for me." She sneered.

I dropped my head to look at the ground, "You've already taken my life away..."

"Pft." She placed her foot on my shoulder and shoved me back, "As I said, you'll never understand."

BOOM!

My eyes widened and my heart stopped for just a moment as I watched Rebecca's body jerk to the side in a sudden movement.

Huh...?

"Brown!" Dani rushed up to me as my stunned eyes remained on Rebecca's lifeless body.

My head was soon grabbed and turned to look at Dani who asked in concern, "Are you alright?" She began to undo the knot around my neck as I half nodded, my attention turning somewhere else now.

It's quiet...

It's quiet, it's too quiet!

I took in a sharp, deep breath, "Nicole... She shot Nicole! We have to see if she's still breathing!"

"Hey, hey, calm down." She tossed the wire aside, "She has to be fine... She... She will be-"

"You..." Rebecca groaned, aiming at us with the rifle while holding her bleeding stomach. "You couldn't finish the job?"

Dani quickly aimed her gun confidently at her, "Put the weapon down, we're taking you in alive." She then turned her head slightly towards me and ordered, "Go check on Nicole, I'll handle her."

I nodded and soon began to sprint towards the room she was in.

"I said put the weapon down!" I heard Dani shout and soon, there was more gunfire.

Followed by chilling screams.

Without looking back, I barged back into the hospital room, immediately finding a blurred pool of deep, scarlet red blood smeared across the ground.

N... Nicole...?

My mind was going all over the place and I didn't understand what the fuck was going on anymore. I felt dizzy, I wanted to cry, I wanted to escape! I'M LOSING MY MIND, DAMMIT!

The room began to dim out around me like. Why did the doctors turn the lights down? Why can't I see?!

I grabbed the body, my vision swaying side to side, making me feel sick. Who the fuck is choking me?! Where did everyone go?

The room went darker and darker and my mind slowly began to feel blank until everything finally disappeared...
