|80| Tell It Again
Jaden
I hopped in my car after saying goodbye to Nicki and Jackson. I didn't have a problem when Jackson offered to take care of her until he drops her off at the nurse's office so I let him stay. I know I could trust him because, for one, Nicki trusts him and two, we've become really good friends for a while now. He wouldn't do anything to screw things up again.
I started my car and began to head back to headquarters to meet with one of my partners. Before I could handle Rebecca, I had to get my job done first.
Damn, what am I supposed to tell the girl?
I needed to be harsh with her. I needed to have the guts to make her cry and be able to laugh at her when she does.
I winced at the thought. I've never treated a girl that way before... I mean, yeah, I've made plenty of them cry from breaking their hearts and cheating and stuff but those were never intentional for the most part. Even when they were intentional, I would at least pretend to care so it would hurt less.
This is different, Jaden! This is Rebecca, the same bitch that just attacked the first and only girl you will ever love. The one who tried to hurt your unborn child!
"That bitch could die for all I care..." I groaned to myself, sneering towards the road I drove on.
"Then why are you with her?"
I jumped at the startling voice, screeching my car to a stop and almost causing an accident. "WHO THE-"
She slapped her hands over my lips, "Don't scream... It's just me."
My eyes widened at the reflection of red hair in the rearview mirror.
How did she get in my car?!
I kept calm and gently grabbed her wrists to pull her hands off, "Rebecca... Why... Are you in... My car...?"
She giggled and laced her fingers with mine, "I couldn't find you at headquarters so I waited in your car for a few hours."
Few hours?
"You mean since you've attacked my girlfriend?" I glared, moving my hands away from hers.
"I- What? Why would I attack someone?" she shook her head and changed the subject, "I just wanted to speak with you, it's urgent."
I sighed and drove to the nearest gas station so that I wasn't in the middle of traffic. When I parked, I looked back at her and gritted my teeth, "Get out."
Like the crazy bitch she is, she only laughed and got comfy in my backseats, "I'm here to help you, Jaden... At least to get you out of a huge mistake."
"I said, get out!"
"And I want you to listen to me!" she barked back. "I know you're not happy with Nicole... You even said it earlier. You said you wanted her dead."
I winced, "I never-"
Oh, that?
"I wasn't talking about her. I love Nicki..."
She rolled her eyes with a small smile, "Really. Then who were you-"
"You!" I blurted out. "I was talking about you, Rebecca!" I let out a stressful sigh, "I know you were planning on killing Nicki and our baby so don't even try to play innocent. I seriously thought you were much different than that..."
She looked at me with fear playing aggressively in her eyes, "How could you accuse me of doing something like that? I admit Nicole and I have our differences but I would never-"
"Do you really think I'm that dumb? You've been putting her through hell this whole time but she's always been able to protect herself against you... Now you think it's a good idea to attack her the way you did because she's vulnerable? You cross the fucking line when you target her while she's carrying a baby! You're fucking insane!"
She was speechless for a moment. Shocked. I don't see why, she knows what she's done. And she knows it was wrong.
"Jaden... I only did it because I know that you truly wanted to be with me..."
I punched my steering wheel in aggravation, making the car honk. I could see the veins pop out on my arm as I gripped the wheel tightly and tried to calm down before I do something crazy.
"Rebecca, listen... I never had feelings for you, not even-"
"You told me you cared about me more than anyone else! That you will always be there for me!"
"I told the same shit to every other girl I've slept with at the time! I was a pig, Rebecca. I lied to you. I fucking used you!" I let out a deep sigh, realizing how bad of a person I was... I realized that I made it so believable that I cared about her just so I could sleep with her... Most of this is my fault.
"I was a pig..." I repeated almost in a whisper.
She shook her head in disbelief, "No... No, you would never do that!"
"Just... Get out of my car..."
She ignored me and continued, "You made me feel wanted!"
"Get out of my car..." I glared.
"You made me feel human, Jaden! I love you! I love you enough to let go of you so you could be happy with anyone you wanted but, Nicole?! She's evil-"
I whipped around to look at her and yell, "Get the hell out of my car! I don't want anything to do with you, can't you fucking see that? I don't like you, in fact, I never did. I hate you!"
When I said that, it felt terrible but I knew that it was how I truly felt. I could never forgive someone who would hurt a person they knew I care about. On top of that, she was selfish enough to try and attack my baby, if that isn't pure atrocity, I don't know what is.
I watched as she gaped her mouth open at me and a tear roll down her cheek. A tear that I knew she was faking, "Y- you don't mean that..."
I looked away from her eyes to keep my man up, "I mean every last word... Please, just get out peacefully before you make me go crazy... PLEASE!"
She drew in a sharp breath at my tone. For a moment, she just looked at me with incredulity and betrayal as I started my car and waited for her to leave. It took her some time to figure out that I wasn't going to change my mind.
"Okay..." She whispered. "I'll see you at work then..." she quietly exited my car and tried to close the door but I stopped her.
"No..."
She froze as I continued with my eyes kept on my hands gripping the wheel, "I won't be seeing you at work."
She nodded slightly with a small, saddened smile, "I get it... You're a busy man now, a- a father..." she sighed, letting another tear fall and this time, I wasn't sure if it was fake. "So, I guess this is really goodbye."
I nodded, "It is..."
Her smile faded away, "If this is it, I want to say I'm sorry... I wish you and your family the best of luck... Goodbye Jaden."
She gently closed the door and took a few steps back, keeping her eyes fixed on my car. It was no secret how heartbroken she was but it was all for the best. It was a large breath of relief and a huge weight lifted off of my chest knowing she's agreeing to stay away for the sake of my family.
I yanked the gear stick to set the car to drive before riding away from her. I glanced at my rearview and watched as she appeared to get smaller the further I went until she was completely out of sight...
