EPISODE SEVEN
the bite.

NOVA WISHED she was at the forth of july fun fair, because she always loved rollercoasters, but no. of course, she was stuck at hoppers cabin trying to comfort eleven after what happened to her in the void with billy.

eleven explained what she saw and what billy had said, as everyone shared nervous looks throughout it. "he said he was building something...and that it was all for me." she continued as nova rested her head on lucas' shoulder.

"building something? is he talking about the flayed?" nova asked with a frown.

"he must be." nancy answered, nodding.

"so, he's building an army, just like we thought..." lucas spoke up.

"yeah. but he's not building this army to spread." mike began.

"he's building it to stop eleven." will finished as they all shared a look.

mike stood up, as if he had just had a realisation moment. "last year, el closed the gate on him. i have a feeling that really pissed him off." mike spoke.

"like, royally." lucas nodded.

"yeah, no shit." nova commented with an amused expression.

mike ignored her and continued, "the mind flayer now knows that she's the only thing that can stop him. but if she's out the way..." mike began.

"game over." both lucas and nova spoke at the same time before sharing a look.

"weirdo." nova said sarcastically. before lucas could reply, eleven spoke up.

"he also said...he was going to kill all of you." eleven looked at the rest of the group, and then at nova who pulled a face, smiling fakely. "oh, that's certainly very kind of him."

a faint screeching noise could be heard as nancy stood up straight, and walked over slowly to the window as they looked at her in confusion. "do you guys hear that?"

"it's just the fireworks." jonathan reassured, nancy turned around and looked at eleven.

"billy...when he told you this, he was here, in this room?"

eleven nodded slowly as they all let out a breath, will's hand going to his neck. "...he knows we're here."

"jesus we're all gonna die on the forth of july...woah that rhymes." nova raised her brows.

"you're a poet and didn't know it." lucas spoke causing her to gasp.

"that also rhymes!"

"stop rhyming," mike snapped as they all followed nancy outside, their hearts dropping when they noticed a large creature coming towards them, it looked like the creature in the hospital, only much bigger. nova latched onto lucas' hand in fear as they all raced inside the cabin.

nancy went to get guns and everyone else barricaded the doors and windows, which made no sense to nova because if the mind flayer wanted to get in, it won't knock, it will just get in and ruin the place.

they all met in the middle, since nancy had ordered them to get away from the windows, they all stood in a circle, nova still holding onto lucas' hand as they waited.

the lights began to flicker and objects began to shake, "it's close." will spoke up as they looked around the cabin, trying to spot it somehow.

glasses smashed on the floor, but then it all stop. "where'd it go?" max whispered, and then, suddenly, something crashed through the window as they all screamed, lucas' scream being the loudest, of course.

the arm reached out to eleven as jonathan began to hit it with his axe, only for it to knock jonathan down, nancy began to shoot at it, causing it to then slither towards her, but it stopped.

eleven walked forward as she used her powers to stop the arm, pulling it away before ripping the claw off, the arm retreated, almost hitting nova in the process as she ducked down, a gasp escaping her lips. "jesus christ."

another arm came through the window, launching at eleven as she held it off, but another one came the other side, her hands were in the air as she breathed heavily, and then let out a yell as she ripped both the hands off of it.

screams escaped their lips as the roof crashed and one of the arms reached down, grabbing eleven by the ankle and dragging her up towards its mouth as they all ran towards her, grabbing her hands to try and pull her back as she screamed.

nancy shot at it, but it didn't do much as eleven still continued to scream in pain. all of a sudden, lucas jumped onto the stool and began to hit it with the axe, until it ripped off and eleven fell onto the floor.

nova smiled at lucas with wide eyes as they all comforted eleven, until mike ripped the claw off her ankle as she screamed in agony, and she stood up slowly, her arms raised in the air as the ripped the mind flayer's head in half.

"jesus. you actually saved el, lucas. proud of you." nova grinned, patting his back as he shrugged, playing it off, but his eyes widened when she pulled him down into a kiss, only to be yanked away by jonathan who was yelling about getting in the car.

they all clambered into the car, mike and eleven in the boot as jonathan drove, them speeding away, trying to comfort eleven who was whimpering in pain.
