A/N: And the third chapter is completed after like 2 days of working on it... Sorry it took forever, but I had very little motivation... Enjoy!

When Kaldur awoke, he found himself still in his pool. Begrudgingly, he lifted himself from the water, and looked down. A bandage was wrapped around his wrist, and his head still hurt like hell. Still, he couldn't leave the Team to practice alone, now could he? He was the leader, and a leader led, despite being shut down by some crazed villain who seemed to have it out for him and his life as Aqualad. Kaldur left the room, and headed down the hall, closer to the sounds of the rest of the Team, laughing and chatting. He entered into the living room, and all eyes turned to him. Raquel asked, "Kal, what are you doing up? Batman said to rest." He answered, "I did, but could not do more. I believe the reason for such, is because I am the Team's leader." Raquel said, "Then sit down, at least!" The Atlantian took a seat beside his girlfriend, just as Wally and Artemis came through the Zeta-tube, holding hands. The giddy speedster said, "Hey guys! What's up?" Robin stared in shock, as did the rest, at the two commonly thought to be enemies, were closer than ever. Artemis asked, "What? Haven't seen us this close before?" Robin said, "Uh yeah...just a few weeks ago, you two were pinching each other and arguing about everything!" Wally said, "Well, people can change. Right, Arty?" The blonde nodded, "Besides, Baywatch here has saved my butt several times. It's high time I save his from loneliness and desperation." Everyone laughed at Artemis' joke, then the room went quiet. Kaldur rose, and said, "Team, we need to have a talk."

M'gann asked, "What kind of talk?" Kaldur replied, "A talk about what we need to do next. We still have no idea where the Injustice League, Lex Luthor, or T'orr D'eii are hiding. Until we can figure out where they are, and what their next plan is, we need to be training." Robin stated, "I agree. We all need to know where they are, so we can be prepared in case they have backup." Kaldur glanced towards Raquel, and smiled at her. She flashed a smile back, and he continued, "At the moment, because of what happened in Atlantis, I cannot partake in training. I have already chosen to suggest to Batman that Robin should take lead, until I am able to do such again." At this point, Robin's eyes went wide with surprise, as he asked, "Why me?" Kaldur answered, complementing him, "You may not have powers,  Robin, but you were born to lead the Team. In my absences, you took control of the situation, and learned the truth. Assuming my injuries heal on schedule, I will be here to be a guide for you, until I am able to resume my role as leader of this team. Just find me, if you have any concerns." The Bird looked partially confused, then nodded, understanding the intensity of the situation. 

It was later that day, when Kaldur finally had the opportunity to talk to Raquel alone. The rest of the Team had gone out for pizza at Cici's, mainly because of the buffet table, to accommodate for Wally and his large appetite, but he and Raquel had decided to stay back. Coming into the Cave's library, he noticed her reading a book comfortably on one of the chairs. Walking up behind her, he gave her a kiss, and she gladly accepted it. Kaldur moved to the chair opposite of Raquel's, and took a seat. He gazed at her with such a longing, thinking about the day they had met. Raquel looked up, and said, "What are you thinking about?" Kaldur responded, "I am currently thinking of the day we met. Do you remember that?" Raquel answered, "Of course I do, Kal. It was one of the best days of my life!" Kaldur answered back, with a slight laugh, "Yes, it was one of the best days of my life as well. I just wish I had grasped the thought sooner, that I loved you. And I wish I had been given the courage to say so, right at the beginning." Raquel said, "We're together now, though. And I couldn't be happier! Everything worked out like it should've, well, relationship wise. As for mission wise, we still are lost and unsure." Kaldur nodded, but kept silent. All he could think about, even though he told his mother he'd stay out of it, was who his father was, and where had he gone. Almost as if Raquel could hear what he was thinking, she stated, "There's something else on your mind, Kaldur. We've been a couple long enough for me to tell. Just tell me what else is on your mind." The Atlantian sighed, and answered, "It is about my father. He left when I was just a child, and I have no idea who he is, or if he is still alive. My mother says I should not worry, but I cannot help thinking about it." Raquel said, "Aw, Kal, I'm so sorry. I didn't know." "It is not your fault, Raquel. You could not have known, as you are not like M'gann, nor are you intrusive.". Kaldur replied, looking up at her with his green eyes. He wasn't sure what to feel for a man that broke his own mother's heart. All he knew, was that the word 'hate', though extreme, was a word he was considering using to describe his dislike for the man. Getting to his feet, Kaldur made a step, and lifted Raquel to her feet. He held her soft brown hands, and squeezed gently, then leaned over, and kissed her on the lips. Raquel took the action, and embraced the sign of love between them. 

They stood close together, kissing in the library, unaware that one had hacked the visual feed, and was watching the two of them make out. The person watching the live feed smirked, and laced his hands together. He said, "So, Aqualad now has a distraction. What a lucky time to be here." Removing his hands from their laced position, he stroked his thin beard, and said to someone standing close, "Prepare to attack Atlantis. It is at its weakest, when the strongest are busy with another. Love... I truly despise even the term and context of it." The person standing nearby nodded, and rushed off. The man said again, to himself, "Kaldur 'ahm, prepare to watch your beloved home become a place of wreck and destruction for all."
