Ch. 15
I have somewhat of an idea what I'm doing.
----------
Ash POV
Today was the new wedding day. It ended up being on the 14th, only eight days after the attack on the camp. I had given my speech and seen my best friend and my brother marry each other. Eliza had taken it surprisingly well when she found out that I was Alex's sister.
--Flashback--
It was late in the evening when I got the letter from Eliza.
"Matthew, I don't want this." I had told him, pushing the letter back towards him.
"It is my job to make sure everyone gets their letters. Plus, she told me to tell you to read it. Something about her not being mad. Anyway, take it and have a good night." Matthew said forcing it into my hands before walking away.
I opened the letter shaking from fear. What if she hates me now?
Dear Ashley,
I am so excited! My best friend is gonna be my sister-in-law!
I am a little angry that you kept it from me, but I would never hate you. I'm a little insulted you think I would.
I was wandering if I could tell Angelica and Peggy.
Please?
P.S. - The new wedding date is the 14th.
With Many Pleads, Eliza
--End of flashback--
The afterparty had started and I mostly hung out in the corner.
"May I have this dance m'lady?" I turned around to see George (looking handsome as ever) with his hand out.
"Of course." I whispered in his ear, causing him to blush.
For the next few songs we danced. That's when I saw Eliza trying to catch my attention from the side of the ballroom.
"I am needed by the bride. Have a good night George."
"You too, Ash."
-----------
Alex POV
Who was this woman?
She gave a wonderful speech, then danced with the general, even making him blush. How? She stopped dancing and walked over to Eliza after telling George something, leaving him looking quite helpless as he walked towards the side of the ballroom.
I watched as Eliza pulled this girl into a hug. She was wearing a soldier's uniform, so I'm guessing she is the girl from our last wedding attempt. I may never know, she was covered head to toe in mud. When she pulled away she asked her something, I couldn't see her response, for she was facing away from me. What I did see was her pull Eliza away from the crowd, down one of the house's long corridors, Peggy and Angelica following.
-----------
Peggy POV
Ash grabbed Eliza by the arm, pulling her down many hallways before stopping in front of our rooms. Eliza had shown her around the house before the wedding.
"Okay, everyone, this is Ashley. She has something to tell you." Eliza told us slowly.
We both looked at her. She slowly took off her mask, revealing a young girl with a striking resemblance to a certain Alexander Hamilton. She then said nine words I did not expect.
"My name is Ashley Hamilton, sister of Alexander Hamilton."
