Thirty
Chris' smile returned when he woke up the next morning and remembered who was next to him. He was naked, which was funny because he remembered falling asleep on the couch snuggled next to Jonny. It wasn't until about 2 AM that Jonny had woken him up in the middle of the night and requested to be fucked senseless in the bedroom.
He chuckled at the memory and Jonny tossed beside him, their chests now facing each other. "Good morning, gorgeous," Chris whispered, the compliment rolling off his tongue.
Jonny smiled and leaned in to give Chris a small peck on the lips. "Good morning."
Chris was slightly disappointed that Jonny hadn't called him by a pet name, but he supposed he'd have to work up for that. He touched Jonny's bare chest and recollections of the night before flooded back into his memory, slightly turning him on.
"Oh, thinking about last night are you?" Jonny teased, though he too was remembering last night's events and replayed them in his head, wishing he had been more awake for them.
Chris chuckled. "Yeah. You were fucking hot, J."
Jonny blushed. "I was just following your lead," he countered, making Chris laugh nervously.
"Did I do alright then?"
"It was marvelous. Definitely one I'll keep stored in the memory banks for awhile." He winked, making Chris laugh.
"The sex or the cock?"
They both laughed and Chris sat up, followed by Jonny. "I guess we should go be productive," Chris said. He grabbed Jonny's hand, who took it willingly. "How long are you staying, J?"
Jonny sighed. "Not as long as I'd like. I'll have to leave tomorrow."
Tomorrow. It still gave them a whole day together, and it the thought of Chris getting to spend the whole day with his boyfriend made him giddy with excitement.
"That still gives us all day together," Chris said with optimism. "I'm gonna take a shower and you can make breakfast, then we'll figure out our plans for the day."
"Um... actually... Chris?"
Chris turned around and Jonny blushed again. "Can I uh... join you in your shower?"
Chris smirked, already imagining the dirty things he could do. "Absolutely! I wanna get a better look at that arse."
Jonny laughed. "Shut up!"
"Yum."
After their shower, which left them both in a good mood, Jonny made them both breakfast. It was simple, but Chris had been insistent on eating breakfast at his flat.
"You still make the best cuppa in London," Chris said.
Jonny laughed. "But we're not in London right now, which means that someone here definitely makes a cuppa better than me."
"Well, even if it's not the best, it's made by the most handsome guitarist in the world." He kissed Jonny's cheek, who smiled.
"So what do you wanna do today, Chrissy?"
Chris took another bite of his eggs and thought for a moment. "There's a beach I've never really been to. We could go there," he suggested.
Jonny nodded. "Does that mean that we can get lunch on the beach and hold hands as we walk in the sunset?" He smirked, making Chris laugh.
"Sounds like you've already got the day planned out!"
"What can I say? I come prepared!" He finished up his eggs and rinsed his plate off in the sink before putting it in the dishwasher, despite Chris' pleas to let him worry about it.
"No. While I'm here, I'm going to do whatever I can to help out," he said, grabbing Chris' plate off the table. Chris stood up and wrapped his arms around Jonny's waist.
"You're the sexiest butler I've ever met," he said, making Jonny giggle. Chris kissed Jonny's neck and Jonny leaned into the touch of his boyfriend.
"You're so warm," he replied. Chris giggled.
"That's all you've got?"
Jonny smiled. "I just love your touch," he said.
"Aw, my lovely guitarist." Chris held Jonny's waist and Jonny rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder behind him.
They stood there for a good minute before Chris let go and insisted that they get ready to go to the beach. "I didn't bring any swimwear," Jonny said.
Chris smiled. "You can borrow a pair of mine."
The packing took them almost an hour, even though they were only going a couple miles away. They packed towels, sunblock, money, a snack, an extra pair of clothes for each of them, and their guitars, just in case.
"Ready, babe?" Chris asked his boyfriend, who nodded joyfully. "Then let's go!" They linked arms and decided to walk there, since it was only a couple of miles away. However, Jonny insisted that they let go, since it was only their first day as a real couple and they didn't want the paparazzi to find them linking arms or holding hands for three miles. Chris was slightly disappointed but he understood. Jonny wasn't used to being in the limelight, and he certainly didn't want his face to be on the cover of any magazines because of their relationship.
When they got there, Jonny spread out the towels while Chris opened the bottle of sunblock. He began to rub it on his body, but Jonny stopped him. "I wanna do it," he said.
Chris smirked and handed the lotion to Jon, who began on the arms and sensually made his way up to the shoulders, sending shivers down Chris' spine. He went for the neck, gently rubbing around until he moved up to Chris' face, where he stopped and went in for a kiss, making Chris giggle.
"My turn now?" Jonny asked hopefully. Chris smirked and shook his head.
"You forgot my legs, my back and the rest of my face!" He laughed.
Jonny gasped playfully. "How could I have forgotten your back!? I want to rub all over it."
"You just want an excuse to touch my butt."
Jonny giggled, his face turning a bright pink. "That too."
"You pervert!"
Jonny finished rubbing the sunblock on Chris and just before Chris was able to start returning the favor, a camera flashed in their direction and he groaned. "So much for intimacy," he whispered.
Jonny patted his back. "It's ok, Chris. We'll still have fun," he promised.
Chris sighed, but gave a light smile. "You're right. Let's get in the water."
Jonny giggled. "But what about my lotion?"
Chris' light smile grew wider at Jonny's adorable goofiness. I love him with all of my heart. "Do it yourself, you pervert!" He laughed. "And I'll give you something even better later," he whispered.
Jonny grinned and with that, he was sold. "Fine, you win." He quickly put on the sunblock and walked down to the water with Chris, avoiding eye contact with the paparazzi.
"Shit! It's cold!" Jonny squealed, his feet barely touching the water.
"Oh it's not that bad you wimp! Here, take my hand and we'll go in together," Chris said, offering his hand out to his boyfriend.
Jonny hesitated. "What about the paps?" He asked. Chris smiled and shook his head.
"Then they'll just see two friends and band mates holding hands as they walk into the cold water together. And, if the article says anything about us dating, it wouldn't be such a bad thing, would it?"
Jonny shook his head. "I guess not. I mean, I don't want to keep it secret forever. If anyone asks us if we are dating, I would say yes, but... I still think it's too early."
Chris' face fell. Jonny sighed and took his hand, immediately brightening him up again. "Just no kisses for now," Jonny said only half-jokingly.
Chris nodded. "I love you," he said quietly, loud enough for only Jonny to hear.
The green-eyed man smiled. "I love you, too."

They stopped for lunch when the sun was just past it's highest peak in the sky. The two left their stuff in the sand and walked over to a small cafe on the boardwalk. It wasn't very busy, since most people were at the bigger cafe not too far away from the one they were at.
"What can I get for you?" The man behind the counter asked. If he recognized either of them, he showed no signs of it.
Chris motioned for Jonny to answer first. "I'll have a small burger," he said. "Oh, and a water."
The man smiled as he put Jon's order in the register. "And for you, sir?"
Chris rubbed his chin, looking at the menu. "I'll take a large salad," he said.
"Alright your total comes out to $11.67. Will that be all for you today?"
Jonny nodded as Chris pulled the money from out of his wallet. "Ah, I'm a dollar short."
Jonny rolled his eyes. "Here, I'll go grab my wallet. It's back on the beach."
The man behind the counter shook his head. "That's alright. I'll give you two a discount." He winked. "I have a boyfriend back home, so I understand what it's like to get treated like garbage in public." The couple blushed. They hadn't realized that they were giving away hints of their relationship.
Sensing their concern, the man chuckled. "Don't worry, it's not obvious. But I know a gay couple when I see one." He winked again, and the two sighed in relief. "Here's your food. Have a good day, and good luck!"
The two smiled back at the man and waved as they walked out of the small cafe. "Well that was scary," Jonny said, laughing nervously.
Chris, holding his salad in one hand, used his other hand to wrap his boyfriend in a hug. "If you want to keep this low-key, I'll do so, but I don't wanna this a secret forever."
Jonny nodded. "I don't either, but I wanna keep it low-key for now. At least until after we tell our exes and the guys and everyone."
"You're always full of good ideas, J!" He kissed Jonny's cheek, making him smile and blush.
When they were finished with their lunch, they reapplied their sunblock and goofed around in the water for a good hour. They came out of the water happier than they had been in a long time.
At around 3, they laid together on their towels, far enough apart where no one would suspect them of being a couple. "Thank you for spending the day with me, Jonny Boy."
Jonny smiled and reached for Chris' hand. Chris took it and firmly held it in his. "Thanks for letting me come," he chuckled.
Chris sat up, not letting go of Jonny's hand. Jonny copied his action and watched as Chris got out his guitar. He let go of Chris' hand and listened as he tuned it.
Chris turned towards him and smiled. He played a couple chords to a song that Jonny immediately recognized, bringing a smile to his face.
"But I promise you this,
I'll always look out for you,
Yeah that's what I'll do."
A crowd had gathered now, and it took all of Chris' willpower to not look back at Jonny and grin goofily, revealing their relationship.
"My heart is yours,
It's you that I hold on to,
Yeah that's what I'll do."
Jonny moved his head to the rhythm and smiled as he thought about all that they'd been through to get to this point.
"And I know I was wrong,
But I won't let you down."
The crowd was now clapping, and some who knew the song were singing along.
"And I saw sparks,
And I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
And I saw sparks."
When Chris had finished, the crowd clapped and some left money, dispersing quickly. Jonny's eyes welled up with happy tears. He smiled at his boyfriend, and they shared a knowing look. Words didn't have to be spoken for them to understand that they were deeply in love with each other.

They spent the next couple hours on the boardwalk. They played carnival games, ate some desserts, and rode some rides (which Jonny immediately regretted when the corndog he'd eaten nearly wound up on the floor of the ride), and by the time they were back at their towels, the sun was setting.
As people packed up their stuff, Jonny assumed that they should do the same. "What are you doing, J?" Chris asked when he saw Jonny putting his towel in the bag.
"I'm packing up. It's getting late, Chris. Shouldn't we be heading back?"
Chris smiled and shook his head. "I rented out the beach for the night. We'll be the only ones here after dark." His smile grew and Jonny stared at him, his mouth agape in surprise.
"When did you do this?" He asked.
Chris shrugged playfully. "While you were using the restroom, at one point or another."
Jonny grinned. "Ah, Chris, you're so expensive. It's no wonder your wardrobe is so limited," he teased.
Chris laughed. "I'll do anything for the ones I love," he said, and he meant it. He remembered a time that his daughter had wanted a stuffed bear from a carnival game, and he had spent nearly all his money for her to play several times to try to win the bear, which she did, and named Anthony, after her dad, which Chris thought was cute.
Jonny blushed. "I know, you're horrible at budgeting," he laughed. Of course, none of the band members needed to worry about budgeting, but Jonny knew that if they hadn't ended as big as they had, Chris would have the hardest time budgeting his money.
They laid on the towels again, watching as the sky turned from a cotton candy pink to a velvety blue. "Wow, you can see more stars than I thought you'd be able to."
Chris nodded. "I didn't know what it would look like, because I've never been here after dark, but it's definitely better than I thought it'd be."
Jonny smiled. "Last time we were lying under the stars, you wrote Yellow and cut our viewing session short so that you could view the inside of my trousers."
Chris laughed. "It was a heavenly view, I must say."
They laughed and sat up. "Wow, look how the moon kisses the ocean, Jon."
Jonny smiled. "Yeah, amazing, isn't it?"
Chris nodded and took out his guitar, playing a few notes.
"Wait for your call, love,
Call never came,
Ready to fall up,
Ready to claim."
Jonny sighed in contentment. He watched the moon rise over the horizon and listened to Chris' angelic voice and beautiful guitar notes.
"I'm ready for it all, love,
I'm ready for the pain.
Meet under sun,
And meet me again,
In the rain,
In the rain."
Lyrics flowed out of Chris' heart as his love for the green-eyed guitarist manifested itself in the song. He knew he would never forget this night.
Jonny closed his eyes. He imagined what their future would hold. Angry exes? Snap-happy paparazzi? Unsupportive family members?
He shook the bad thoughts out of his head and imagined the good ones instead. A healthy, loving relationship. Four children that they both loved equally. Music. Happiness. A wedding.
He smiled.
"Behind the walls, love,
I'm trying to change.
I'm ready for it all, love,
I'm ready for the change.
Meet me in blue sky,
Meet me again,
In the rain.
In the rain.
The rain."
When Chris put his guitar down, after another minute or so of chords, Jonny rested his head on Chris' shoulder. "I can't believe it took us so long to find this," he said.
Chris wrapped his arm around Jonny and kissed his forehead. "You know why we couldn't, but I'm glad you're in my arms now. I never stopped loving you and I never will," he sighed. "My lovely guitarist."
They sat like that, just watching the stars, the melody Chris had played on repeat in their heads for the better half of an hour. They shared kisses, hugs, and loving words the whole time. However, eventually, time caught up with them and they had to pack up their things so that they could wash up and get some sleep before Jonny's long flight back to London.
"I'm gonna miss you like crazy, Jonny Boy," Chris said the next morning when the taxi arrived, refusing to let go of his boyfriend.
Jonny kissed his soft lips, not breaking their kiss until the taxi honked. "I've got to go, Chris. I love you." He quickly grabbed his bag.
"I love you, too, Jonny. I love you more than you'll ever know."
And maybe more than I'll ever get to show.
