Epilogue

Chris tightened his bowtie and took a deep breath as he looked in the mirror. "Phil, do I look ok?" He asked, nervously.

Phil looked at him, straightened his bowtie slightly, and smiled. "You look great, mate."

There was a knock at the door and Phil quickly opened it. Guy and Will stood there, grinning, looking dashing in their tuxes.

"You guys look great!" Chris complimented.

Guy smiled. "This is the same suit I wore to your first wedding," he bragged.

Will rolled his eyes. "He's only saying that because I ripped mine trying to fit my rump in it."

At the mention of it, Guy and Phil burst out laughing. "It's still hilarious!" Guy said in between giggles.

Will groaned. "Anyway, so I had to go and buy one last minute."

Chris smiled. "I'm glad your emergency was sorted out, Will," he teased.

The guys laughed again and Chris turned back to face himself in the mirror. "Aren't things supposed to get easier the more times you do them?" Chris asked with a chuckle.

Phil chuckled as Guy and Will were occupied straightening each other's bowties. "Generally, yes."

Chris sighed. "Then why do I feel even more nervous?" He thought back to his first wedding, when he had felt so unsure of himself. How he had felt uneasy at the fact that he was going to marry someone that wasn't Jonny. How he had debated saying no so he could marry Jonny, and how Jonny had been depressed afterwards when he didn't.

Guy chuckled. "I think weddings are the one exception to that rule."

Chris sighed. This time, zero doubts were running through his mind. He knew that this was what he wanted. He knew from the day that he met Jonny, that this was what he wanted. Jonny was who he wanted to marry. The man he loved with the intensity of a thousand suns, the man he loved loved more than anything else in the world, the man whose green eyes sparkled brighter than a glimmering ocean in the bright summer sun.

"Are you ready, Chris?" Will asked with a smile.

Chris turned around and grinned. "Am I ready to begin the new chapter of my life with the man that I love? Yes. I'll always be ready."

Phil smiled at him. "Alright, mate. Let's go."

They waved goodbye to Will and Guy, and promised to see them downstairs.

Phil and Chris stood at the altar, waiting for the ceremony to begin. Phil patted Chris on the back as he took a deep breath, doing his best to release the nerves. "You'll do great, mate," he whispered.

Chris looked over at the guitar and the piano sitting by the window of the church, and hoped in the name of God that he didn't mess up his performance too horribly.

Suddenly, he heard the music begin playing and looked at the back of room. He grinned at the sight of his love, looking dashing in his white tux. His daughter was the flower girl, and Chris waved at her as she sat in the front pew. She waved back and looked back at her daddy, slowly walking up the aisle, with his mother by his side.

His future husband. A future that was ten minutes away.

When Chris was joined at the altar by the man of his dreams, he smiled and immediately took his hands. He could barely hear the priest, he was so happy.

The tears welled up in his eyes, but for once, not from sadness. He was about to cry, but in joy, something he was unused to. However, seeing Jonny in front of him, them hand in hand and a priest beside them, really made him feel like he belonged.

"Chris has requested to play a song for his groom," the priest said, and Chris watched as his love's eyes widened. "And he has requested the help of his friends Guy Berryman and Will Champion."

Chris winked at Jonny and walked over to his guitar. Guy picked up his bass and Will sat at the piano. "Um so, I'm not real great with words," he began once he'd gotten to the microphone. The gathering laughed. He could point out his mother, his father, his sister, his brother, and when he saw his ex-wife and his two kids, who were all smiling, he grinned. "So instead of writing a really cheesy vow telling you things that you already knew," he continued, looking at Jonny now. "I thought I'd sing you a song telling you things you already knew." Again, the crowd laughed. "I love you, Jonny. I'm so excited to spend the rest of my life with you."

Jonny was already crying, and the scene made Chris wanna cry, too, and he hadn't even started the song yet.

"Alright, mates, let's go," he said, and they all began the song, which Jonny recognized immediately.

"Did I drive you away?
I know what you'll say,
You'll say:
Oh, sing one we know."

The audience was smiling and some were swaying their heads or clapping.

"But I promise you this,
I'll always look out for you,
Yeah that's what I'll do."

Jonny was a sobbing mess already, and though he tried to hide it, it was obvious that the poor man was emotional.

"Say oh,
I say oh..."

Chris' children were holding hands and Apple was on the verge of tears. She was so proud of her dad. He was obviously in love with the guitarist and his love gave her hope for her own future.

"My heart is yours,
It's you that I hold on to,
Yeah that's what I'll do.
And I know I was wrong,
But I won't let you down,"

Jonny's ex-wife was also smiling. Even though she had deeply loved her husband, she was happy to just be his friend and mother of his children, and she was even happier at the sight of him finding and marrying his true love. Chloe loved Chris like a brother, and now he was going to marry her best friend. It felt great.

Even Jonny's little ones, though they really didn't understand the significance of what was happening (Violet much more than Jonah, however), were happy, excited, and even emotional. Their daddy was getting married to someone he loved, and that was all that mattered to them.

"I say oh,
I cry oh,
And I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
And I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
Singing out,

"La la la la oh,
La la la la oh,
La la la la oh."

The crowd politely applauded as they finished, and Chris quickly made his way back up to altar, where he grabbed Jonny's hands again, right after wiping the poor man's eyes.

"Jonny, your vow?" The priest asked politely.

Jonny smiled and took a crumpled piece of paper out of his pockets. His hands were shaking, Chris noted.

"Well, it's kind of hard to follow that up," he chuckled, making the audience chuckle with him. "But, I did write something for you," he began. He took a deep breath and started reading off the crumpled piece of paper, lines that he had repeated to himself so often, he knew by heart. Still, to avoid messing up and sheer embarrassment, he read off the paper anyway.

"Christopher Anthony John Martin, when I first met you, you were full of mystery. A perfect man, perhaps? You could play, sing, and make me laugh all at once, not to mention your extremely good looks..." the audience laughed. He took another deep breath and tried to prevent his voice from shaking. "However, what really caught my attention were those crystal blue eyes of yours, always staring at me, catching me off guard or making me want you." He looked up at Chris and was grateful for the tears in his eyes and the encouraging words he'd mouthed.

"I knew the day that you kissed me that I was going to fall in love with you. I knew that you and I were meant to be. And... when you wanted to take a different direction with your life, of course I was hurt. I loved you and I thought that you loved me, too, only to find that you wanted a family. A real, normal family. I..." he stopped, tears flowing freely now. Chris hugged him and urged him to continue.

"I... I wanted you to be happy, so I let you go. I honestly didn't think that you'd come back to me, especially after over a decade later," he admitted. "But, thanks God that you did, because I love you. I never stopped loving you, even when our love was on hold so that we could raise our families, I still let myself love you." Nervously, he glanced over at Chloe to see if she was mad or upset, but she still looked happy and he gave a small sigh of relief.

"These past two years have been the best of my life. I've gotten to help my best friend raise my two precious children, and I've had the honor of being your boyfriend. I love you, Chris. I love you so much..." By that time, they were both sobbing uncontrollably, as well as most of the women in the room.

The priest smiled and asked for the men to now exchange rings. They did so, Chris kissing Jonny's hand when he put the ring on his finger.

"Jonathan Buckland, do you take Christopher Martin to be your wedded husband, to care for in sickness and in health, through fellowship and hardship, and to love and cherish for as long as you both shall live?"

Jonny grinned. "I do."

"And Christopher Martin, do you take Jonathan Buckland to be your wedded husband, to care for in sickness and in health, through fellowship and hardship, and to love and cherish for as long as you both shall live?"

Unlike his last wedding, Chris answered without hesitation. "I do."

"Then I now you pronounce you both Mr. Martin-Buckland!" The priest announced, Jonny amd Chris' cue to kiss, making the audience cheer wildly in congratulations and happiness.

Chris swooped Jonny off of his feet and carried him to the reception hall, where Jonny cut the first slice of cake. Chris refused to put Jonny down while he ate, so they both took up one chair, Jonny on Chris' lap and Chris' chocolate cake spilling everywhere.

"Chris, you're going to get it on his tux!" Gwen shouted through her laughter, concerned about Jonny's white tuxedo.

"It's just chocolate!" Chris shouted back, still chewing a mouthful of chocolate.

Jonny laughed and kissed his chocolaty lips, savoring the taste of both.

"Are you ready to dance, Jonny Boy?" Chris asked him later, right before their song to dance to came on, which was Beautiful Day by U2.

"Yes, but, well, you know I'm a bloody awful dancer!" He said chuckling.

"Nonsense! You dance with me on stage all the time!" Chris countered.

Jonny laughed. "It's easier when both hands are being occupied! Then you only have to worry about your feet!"

Chris kissed his hat, which was taller and rounder than his usual choice in hats. "I'll guide your steps, love. Just trust me."

Jonny nodded, then laughed at his thought. "Imagine if we had been married on Ollama!"

Chris laughed with him. "It'd be a bloody disaster!" He thought, though he'd never seen an Ollamian wedding. Weddings hadn't existed back when the former president was in charge, but he didn't want to think about that now.

"I'm glad Mark got that whole situation sorted out without us," Jonny said.

Chris nodded. "Me too. I was considering actually going home for a while, but that wedding definitely made me change my mind!" He joked. "But I am glad that Mark was so kind to us. He's a great bloke to lead the planet. He told me he was going to divide the planet into sections, like in America, so that there's more than one leader and more than one voting majority."

Jonny smiled. "I hope you told him he was full of great ideas!"

Chris chuckled. "Definitely!" He picked Jonny up again and put their lips together for a long, sweet kiss, before carrying his husband to the dance floor and letting the music begin.

They sang along to the music, and Jonny moved in sync with Chris' moves. Jonny kept his hands on his husband's waist, as Chris did the same with his own hands. "I love you, Jonny," Chris whispered over the music.

Jonny rested his head on Chris' chest and they both felt at ease. "I love you, too, Chris. Forever and always."

Chris smiled. "Always and forever," he said back. "Always and forever."
