End. An absolute end...

It is never easy coming to terms with death. Five boys had their hands bound in chains as they were made to stand in a line. In the shadows, J.C. watched quietly as he was told to. 

Why were these five boys bound ? Suspicion of magic. Such as making things move, heightened control of the body, shapeshifting, & empathy to the highest degree, etc.....

"역겨워! 비열해! 마법은 어둠의 짓이에요!" (Disgusting ! Vile ! Magic is the work of darkness !), someone yelled as a crowd began to form. The boys remained quiet as the madness begun. 

J.C. watched in horror as the crowd got enthusiastic. However, he was told to not intervene. "Do you have anything you want to say ?", Steve was asked as he gently was pulled back by Ben. Daniel spoke up in defense, "여러분은 스스로가 자랑스러워요?! 당신은 우리를 힘들게 해서 행복합니까?" (Are you proud of yourselves ?! Are you happy making us suffer ?) Them showing any kind of emotion with the suspicion on them was considered as threatening. It was looked at as if they were going to us their magic on others. To harm others.

The crowd got angrier with this assumed threat. The  five were slowly getting cornered as J.C. watched & couldn't do anything.  The families of the five were brought forward. "Will you all join them ?", this was a simple but loaded question. How was anyone supposed to answer this kind of question ?

Can you guess what their families answered ? Family is supposed to love you unconditionally & support you... Comfort you, even. It was confirmed where their families stood as they now faded into the  crowd as it grew in numbers.

In a fit of anger, the crowd yelled all kinds of thing & began pelting the five chained boys with things. It wasn't long before  a fire broke out. The burning wood of torches surrounded the five. 

A ring of fire. That is what surrounded the five. Almost like this was coordinated specifically for them at this moment. Kairo coughed out a question, "우리 손잡는 게 어때요? 이것만이 우리 자신을 구할 수 있는 유일한 방법일지도 모릅니다." (Why don't we join hands ?  This may be the only way to save ourselves.) He had a point. They were chained & now blocked from going anywhere by the fire around them. It was true they had magic of some kind, but up until this point never used such magic. 

Without much discussion they joined hands quickly. Their hands fizzled with magical power, making their hands feel exceptionally cold compared to the fire around them.

All went silent as the fire died down & empty chains sat on the ground surrounded by a ring of charred grass...
