DANIEL POV

I woke up floating in mist. The last thing I remembered was burying the chest...

I looked around for a bit when I noticed that Kairo, J.C. , Ben, Steve, & Terry were gone. I didn't think too much about why I was alone. Once out of the lake I traced a symbol I saw in the mist with my hand.

A blinding flash happened before my eyes readjusted on the lake. When I looked at my reflection I had a cute pair of fox ears on top of my head. One of the ears was white, the other being a red color. "What is this ?" I had no time to adjust as I heard little whimpers & yowls behind me. I turned around at the sound finding four foxes. Two were fennec foxes. The other two being artic foxes. "How did you little guys get here ?"

What I wasn't expecting was a response. I could understand them. "이것은 새로운 능력의 시작입니다. 이것은 사람들이 나타낼 수 있는 것입니다." (This is the start of a new ability. This one that people will be able to manifest.) A new ability ? Did I get this from tracing that symbol ? I sat on one of the Sacred Circle tree stumps. The foxes keeping close to me. "Would this mean everyone who get this ability will get to communicate with the animals they resemble ?"

The foxes shook their head in disagreement before one answered. "No. They'd have to be in human form to communicate. Only you can communicate since the ability was given to you with this intention in mind..." It was clear I hadn't full shifted into fox form, but rather have the ears out for now. (A/N: please no weird comments about the omega-verse hybrids... He doesn't act like an animal in any way. He simply can shift between human & fox form. Like I mentioned in the Optical Illusion series Metamorphi closely resemble the Metamorphmagus in Harry Potter.)

I looked back at the lake. Just why had this happened ? "무엇이 이것을 야기시켰나요? 좋은 생각 있으세요?" (What caused this ? Do you have any ideas ?), I asked as I was beginning to understand a few things. I died, but was brought back by my magic. I built a sanctuary with my friends... Now I have a new ability... I was soon given an answer after a few moments. "The chest you buried caused this, Daniel. The power inside it released itself when you buried it..."

Soon the foxes left me & I made my way inside the sanctuary to speak with the others...
