        WITH THE EXTINCTION OF THE STARS CAME INSURRECTION. 

         In the realm-filled darkness, this glint meant the end of the beginning. Even though Tenebris was always mostly filled with dark, wickedness, and iniquity, the fading blinding flares brought terror into the life of the innocents. Only in the darkness, you could see the stars, but what if all those stars one day disappeared from the pitch-black heavens?

         Every dark creature started to notice that something isn't right, but still celebrated the birth of the future king of Tenebris. It was prince Wraithane who was expected to set up order back to its original form, with every royalty born, a star that rose to the skies, but he failed to fulfill the expectations of others as the bright star faded quickly as the kingdom last hopes.

         Wraithane's birth star Cai, was the last spark to be seen in centuries and with that, the planet remained colorless again as the stars became myths. Rather than deciding to focus on his duties surrounding the future of the planet, Wraithane stayed up late in the nightshade, waiting for a star to light up the menace only for him as he missed the beauty of the blue twisted with galaxies.

         The king was not satisfied with his son's behavior. He taught him humility and reliability, however from the constant observing, Wraith saw details that he was forbidden from seeing, yet only one, person was craved into his mind. A blue-skinned girl, with blonde locks, easily compared to an evening star, was occasionally wandering outside the palace.

        The prince never got the courage to do anything as got used to being an observer and when he finally got the chance to talk to Nebula — the world around him was instantly bright. Nevertheless, as fate has already given, on Tenebris, even the smallest shred of glow got eventually concealed in the darkness, just like Nebula, not being able to escape the horrendous training of the well-known and dangerous being named Thanos. 

        Everything after that seemed like a fever dream, even the existence of the only one that Wraith managed to declare his fondness. Did she even exist? Nebula disappeared from his life just like all the stars beforehand. So that's why he learned how to hide his deepest feelings, affection for her, and bury them inside his darkest soul, waiting to glow again.

        As Wraith got older, he forgot things easily as he needed to focus on becoming one of the greatest sovereigns in the history of the Scarthus dynasty, which he wasn't ready to become as there was always something on his mind, preventing him from continuing. 

       How could he continue accomplishing his father's plans when something was missing the whole time? 

       The stars were gone for too long to remain silent about certain things that were kept as a secret. King Scarathane tried to do everything to save the future by secretly arranging a marriage to connect two of the royal houses of Tenebris (Scarthus and Amona) to set a distraction before everyone finds out about the danger approaching the destiny of this dark planet.

       Thanos was coming back to harvest all the damned souls as the ancient legend told. Those who died on Tenebris remained there as dark shadows, the ghosts of the past as the planet's core was soul stone itself, yet that was just an excuse for something way more distasteful. He managed to overshadow everything that show hints of light, until the only person that saw a spark inner Wraithane's soul came back, however not in the way she was engraved into his memories.

        By joining the Black Order, Nebula had to serve Thanos and bring demise to others, even to the boy that loved her too fondly to be fearful of her. Unlike Wraith, she had no other choice than to choose the path, that would eventually tear her apart. . .

       The evening star would shine brighter, if only he talked to her a few days earlier. . .

A SPARK IN THE DARKNESS is part of a universe called CHAOSVERSE. The universe is still based on events that happened in the marvel cinematic universe but they are slightly different, making it an alternative universe.

The main inspiration for writing this story comes from Czechoslovak fairy tales Prince and the Evening Star (1979), Beauty and the Beast (1978), Nebojsa (1988),  Queen of the Lake (1998)
