It was a dark and quiet night as people were beginning to sleep while others were working their late night jobs. Others happened to be at bars or restaurants. One such person was Qrow Branwen, a professional huntsman with a lax nature.

He was sitting at the counter drinking when he felt his scroll buzz. He got it out and looked at it to see he received a text from an old friend of his.

The name of the person made him sigh and made his heart ache.

Qrow:"(M/n)..."

He read the message and his eyes widened. He threw money on the counter and ran out the bar. He ran along the street before jumping into air and spinning. His body glowed before there was a crow in his place that flew off into the distance.

He was flying as fast as he could past a dirt road away from the main city. He kept going and eventually reached a lone house but saw that it was on fire. He transformed back into his normal form and rushed inside.

Qrow:"(M/n)! Where are you!?"

(M/n):"Qrow!"

He heard her voice upstairs and quickly ran to see her surrounded by strange creatures.

Qrow:"Get away from her!"

He ran to her side quickly and pulled her away from one of the monsters attacks. Their scythe got lodged in the wall and Qrow kicked them away and took their scythe. He spun it around and cut them down to dust.

Qrow:"Are you alright?"

He turned and she nodded.

Qrow:"Thank goodness. I don't know what I'd do if you-"

His words were cut short as the floor beneath her gave way and she fell into the raging fire below. The world seemed to slow to a crawl as something broke through the roof and went straight down towards her and stabbed her right in the heart.

It was another of those strange creatures and tears began to fill Qrow's eyes. The creature looked up at Qrow before vanishing into thin air. He jumped down carefully and saw her crying with the last bit of life she had left.

(M/n):"Qrow...my son...(Y/n) is upstairs..."

Qrow nodded as tears streamed down his face before she used her last bit of strength to hand him an amulet.

Qrow took it from her hand before he saw the light leave from her eyes. It stung him even more and he ran back upstairs and got her child from a crib and left the house. He looked down and saw (Y/n) crying. He cried along with him and held him tightly.

Qrow:"I'm sorry..."

An Hour Later

A couple had finished putting their children to bed before heading downstairs to watch a movie. This couple was Taiyang Xiao Long and his wife Summer Rose.

Before they could turn on the TV, they heard a knocking at the door. Tai went to open it up and saw his friend Qrow immediately rush in.

Tai:"Whoa! What's the rush Qrow?"

Qrow turned to look at Tai with puffy eyes and they all sat on the couch to see (Y/n) wrapped up in a blanket still in Qrow's arms.

Tai:"Qrow, isn't that (M/n)'s son?"

Qrow nodded and cried as they began to comfort him.

Qrow:"She was attacked by demons. I thought he had sealed off our world and theirs but some managed to slip on through."

Tai:"Qrow..."

Qrow:"If only I was there earlier! I could've protected her."

Summer:"It isn't your fault Qrow. You did what you could. At least (Y/n) is safe and sound."

Qrow:"I know."

Summer:"We'll take care of him."

Qrow:"Really? But you two already have Ruby and Yang to worry about..."

Tai:"Qrow, we can do it. Don't worry. As long as you help us watch after him as well. If there are demons still around, then we're going to have to keep him safe."

Qrow dried his tears before Summer held (Y/n) close to her chest.

Qrow:"You're right. I'll do everything I can to get back at those damn demons!"

Tai rubbed his back before the two of them looked at Summer humming softly as (Y/n) slept peacefully in her arms. Qrow grabbed the amulet from his pocket and set it down on their coffee table.

Qrow:"You might want to hold onto this as well."

They nodded.

The years flew by as (Y/n) was raised by Tai and Summer alongside his new sisters Yang and Ruby. They three of them got along really well. Ruby always clinged to her older brother anytime she got the chance.

The two were practically inseparable and Ruby claimed (Y/n) to be her best friend. Yang would often challenge him in weird competitions since they had a small rivalry between them.

It was finally (Y/n)'s 10th birthday and he was sleeping peacefully in his bed when he felt something poking his face. His eyes fluttered open before drifting over to the source that woke him up from his slumber. He saw his younger sister, Ruby, poking him. When she saw he was awake she cheered happily.

Ruby:"YAY! MORNING BIG BRO! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

She hugged him and he laughed and hugged her back.

(Y/n):"Thanks Ruby. You're really sweet."

She went a bit red and hugged him even tighter before letting him go.

Ruby:"Everyone is waiting downstairs."

(Y/n):"I'll be there soon."

She nodded and ran out the room. He got out of his bed and looked at himself in the mirror before changing into a shirt with a hero on it, some shorts, and some velcro shoes. He went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth and finally made his way downstairs where he saw his family waiting there for him.

Yang:"There's the birthday boy!"

Yang went over and hugged him and he hugged back before her and Ruby dragged him over to the table.

He sat down at the head of the table as they sat on either side of him. His mom, Summer, walked over and kissed his head repeatedly as Tai and Qrow ruffled his hair.

The day was spent with them all having fun and it was time for presents.

Summer:"(Y/n), there's something we've been meaning to give you and now it's finally time."

She gave him a small box and he opened it to see an amulet with a red gem in the center.

Ruby:"Oooh! It's so pretty!"

Yang:"Yeah!"

Upon seeing the amulet, images flashed through his mind and he dropped it before clutching his head and crying suddenly.

Everyone rushed to his side before he picked up the amulet and held it tightly to his chest.

(Y/n):"Mom...she wore this... I remember her face now..."

Qrow, Tai, and Summer glanced at each other before Qrow made him look up at him.

Qrow:"It's time we told you the truth."

Qrow was the one to break the news to the kids that (Y/n) wasn't related to any of them and how his mother died when he was just a baby. Ruby and Yang held his hands and he pulled them away to dry his eyes.

(Y/n):"I'm okay now... Mom knew who to take care of me. I'm glad to have you as my family. If it's okay Uncle Qrow, but do you think you can tell me more about her sometime?"

Qrow:"Of course."

Things went back to a lighter mood as Tai handed him his next present. It was a long box that was set on the floor. He opened it up and saw a sword inside.

A/n: Don't worry, you'll get more weapons later on

(Y/n):"Whoa! No way! Is this actually a real sword?!"

Tai:"Yup. We figured since you finally hit the double digits then you should learn to fight before going to Signal in a few years."

(Y/n):"This is awesome thanks so much, Dad!"

Tai:"Test it out."

He nodded before grabbing the sword and feeling it out. He then did something that scared the life out of the adults.

Once he finished with a downward slash, Ruby and Yang stared in amazement before cheering for him. Summer quickly inspected him for any cuts and was relieved to see he wasn't hurt.

Qrow:"Holy crap kid, you got some flashy moves."

(Y/n) just chuckled happily.

(Y/n):"Sorry. It was out of pure instinct."

They all shared a laugh as one happy family before things quickly flipped upside down in this unforgiving world.

A/n: So Devil May Cry is a pretty damn good series. And I wanted to take a crack at making a story combining RWBY. I hope you guys are interested in this because I feel like it's going to be a lot of fun writing. I've still yet to play 4 and 5 but I feel like I know enough to make a story while I play the other two games.

It took a while to find a copy of 4 because it was mainly on PS3 and Xbox 360 (I unfortunately don't have my 360 anymore since my brother took it) until Amazon came up with a good result.

It better be worth the $80. Also, any love interests you guys want or any gender bent characters?
