I was sitting in class as Pyrrha kicked the shit out of Team CRDL with no problem. There was time for one last match and that Mercury guy volunteered to fight her. The match was short as he gave up easily. Class ended and we began pouring out the class as Emerald hung around for him.

Emerald:"Hey (Y/n), any plans later?"

I stopped and looked at her curiously.

"Not much. Might just do some training in the Emerald Forest."

Emerald:"Lame. You should drop by our dorm. We could watch a movie or something."

"I'll pass on it for now. Maybe next time."

Emerald:"Alright. See ya."

I nodded and walked off as I carefully glanced back at her over my shoulder. Something about her and Mercury didn't sit right with me. And especially that Cinder chick. I felt a tingle like when I first met Saeko. She was definitely somewhat linked to my demon side, but I wasn't sure what. I'll have to go hang out with the other two if I want to figure things out.

Lady:"Ugh, this is annoying."

Saeko:"What is?"

Lady:"All the annoying guys asking me out to the dance."

Saeko:"Right. I know how you feel."

"Damn. Are you ever gonna say yes?"

Lady:"Depends on how I'm feeling."

Saeko:"I'd rather go solo. Those guys definitely want to try something once the party's over."

"Well they are dumb teenagers with raging hormones. But trying something with you two is like poking a sleeping Ursa."

As the three of us walked and talked, Ozpin rounded the corner and looked at us.

Ozpin:"Students, may I have a word with you?"

We looked at each other and nodded before following him to his office. We stood in front of his desk as he took a sip from his mug then set it down.

Ozpin:"The reason I called you here is for an important mission. Something you three are tied to."

Saeko:"What do you mean?"

Ozpin tapped a few things on his desk before an image displayed to show a man with a book.

Lady:"No... It can't be..."

She grit her teeth and clenched her fists.

"What's wrong?"

Lady:"That man... He..."

Saeko put a hand on her shoulder and Lady let out a low growl as a few tears fell from her face.

Lady:"That bastard killed my mom!"

I looked back at the image and scowled.

Ozpin:"My condolences Lady. Surveillance footage shows this man reading passages from this strange book and even demons following him."

Saeko:"So what do you want us to do?"

Ozpin:"Track him down and stop him. There is something about him that's rubbing me the wrong way."

Lady:"We'll go. But leave that man to me."

"Lady, you sure?"

Lady:"I'm damn sure. I want that man to pay."

Saeko:"Then we will let you. But if things get out of hand we will step in."

Ozpin:"His last known location was in Red Grave City. Gather your things and head to the courtyard. Your ride will be waiting."

We all nodded and Lady immediately started speed walking. This guy definitely had what was coming to him. Especially if Lady was the one hunting him down.

Ozpin:"(Y/n), wait."

I stopped and he motioned me over as the girls descended.

"What is it Oz?"

Ozpin:"This man he also is in possession of something. Something unique."

He pulled up another image and I gasped.

"The Yamato..."

Ozpin:"Correct. You of all people should know just how powerful this blade is."

"Yeah... Pops used it to seal off the demon world from the entirety of Remnant. How the hell does that guy have it?"

Ozpin:"Who knows? But one thing is clear, you must retrieve it at all costs. This blade is meant for you. It belongs in your hands. Anyone else in possession of it would use it to bring destruction upon us all. The Grimm themselves are a problem already. Demons would be a different thing entirely. I don't know if many huntsmen have what it takes to bring down such horrid creatures."

"I'll bring it back. No sweat. But you think this will take long?"

Ozpin:"I would hope not. You have the dance to attend later this weekend after all. Not to mention your first mission with a professional huntsman on Monday."

"No offense but us three outclass plenty of huntsmen even on our worst days."

Ozpin:"Best not be too overconfident. Hurry along. You're burning daylight."

I chuckled and left his office. I reached the bottom floor and started walking to my dorm when Yang walked up to me.

"Hey Yang, you look down. Is something wrong?"

Yang:"It's Blake. She's...she's still obsessed with trying to stop Roman and the White Fang. And we want her to take it easy so she can enjoy the dance with us. I just don't know what to do..."

She looked down at the floor and let out a sad sigh. I then put a hand on her shoulder and she looked up at me.

"Come on Yang. Don't give up. You've always been there for everyone whenever they're feeling down. Your smile and personality are what keep people going."

Her face went red and she struggled for words before settling on a smile.

Yang:"You've got a way with words. You know that?"

"Yeah. All part of my charm."

She laughed and we simply stared into each other's eyes.

"Well, I better get packing."

Yang:"Huh?"

"I'm running off to another mission."

Yang:"But the dance is this weekend."

"Ah don't worry. It'll be a 20 minute mission. In and out. Simple as that."

Yang:"Well you better show up to the dance."

"I'll be there. You know the old saying: be there or be square. And (Y/n) Rose is no way a square."

Yang:"Fair enough. Be safe though."

"Sure thing."

She pulled me into a hug and I hugged back. We stood there for a few minutes before I broke away and walked off.

Yang: Well at least no other girls will try and ask him to the dance.

She smiled to herself before walking back to her own dorm. I got back to mine and the girls already had their bags ready. Lady was walking around the room making sure she got every weapon she could carry. Saeko looked at her with a worried look.

Saeko:"Lady..."

Lady:"What?"

Saeko:"Are you sure you're up to this? This is a team mission so we don't want you going out on your own for revenge."

Lady:"That man deserves everything that's coming to him!"

"Lady calm down. We're there to put a stop to whatever he's doing. As long as we stick together then he's history. We just need to find him, fight demons along the way, and then he's all yours. Got it?"

Lady:"Yeah."

"We just ask that you take it easy."

She took in a deep breath and looked at us.

Lady:"Okay... If I go overboard please step in."

Saeko:"We will."

She smiled softly and I grabbed my coat and looked at my swords Rebellion and Alastor. I reached out for Rebellion and strapped it to my back. Next thing was polishing Ebony and Ivory.

Elsewhere

There was a long row of tents around a forest clearing with a bonfire near the center. A bunch of dirty and horrifying looking men were walking about as some shared drinks and laughed obnoxiously. There was one tent away from the others and a woman with short hair stepped through it.

?:"Vernal. Good, you're here."

The lady identified as Vernal stood at attention as some other female was speaking to her.

?:"I'll be going away for a while."

Vernal:"Away?"

?:"Yes. There's something that requires my attention. Something that will make our tribe even more fearsome than it already is."

Vernal:"May I ask what that is, ma'am?"

?:"A legendary weapon. While I was on patrol there was this strange man in possession of a special weapon I've seen once before. It's called the Yamato. A powerful blade used by a demon."

Vernal:"A demon? Wait, you mean that Sparda guy? I thought that was a myth!"

?:"Myths and legends have to derive from something. Look after the tribe while I'm gone. This shouldn't take long."

The woman grabbed a mask and slipped it on.

?:"To put things simply, this weapon is like my semblance but far more reliable. I'll kill that old man and that sword will be mine."

Vernal smiled at her leader as her leader held a malicious smirk underneath her mask. She stepped out from her tent and began walking away. She was away from the main camp before sprinting and jumping into the air. She spun before her body warped and shifted into a raven with glowing red eyes and flew off into the distance.

Back with (Y/n)

We were at the bullhead loading up as Ozpin and Glynda were seeing us off.

Glynda:"Ozpin, are you certain we shouldn't send along a professional?"

Ozpin:"Glynda, these three are more than capable of handling this mission themselves."

Glynda:"I don't know..."

"Don't worry about us! We got this completely under control. We'll be back in time for the dance. That's a promise."

Glynda:"Very well. I still have my doubts but your battle prowess are not to be underestimated. But it still would be good if you remained vigilant."

We shared a nod before the bullhead started slowly taking off and I shut the doors. We then proceeded to fly off to the city.

I turned and saw Lady was leaning against her motorcycle.

"How in the hell did you bring that in?!"

Lady:"The larger doors at the back of the ship."

"Okay but where do you even keep it at?"

Lady:"The Beacon Garage."

"They have a garage?!"

Saeko:"First I'm hearing of this as well."

"Well, whatever. Can I take it for a spin?"

Lady:"You? No way. You'd probably end up breaking it."

"Now why would you assume that?"

Before she could say anything more the bullhead shook violently. The pilot started freaking out before the glass broke and demons jumped through.

"Oh shit!"

They roared at me and all tackled me out the bullhead. We were spiraling down as one was up in my face trying to bite me. I held it back and spun around and used it to land on the ground. Its bones cracked as I used it as a makeshift surfboard before coming to a halt.

They were lesser demons and they surrounded me in a ruined street. Rubble was tossed all around and I turned around to see a building with a For Lease sign on it.

"Looks like a nice spot for a shop."

Some new lesser demons then showed up and they seemed to be carrying large sacks.

They shrieked and slowly walked around. I grabbed my guns and started jumping around and aiming at the sacks. Eventually they exploded and caused the other demons that got caught in the blast to die as well.

"Pfft. Too easy. Now on to-"

I heard some wicked laughter and did a backflip as a glowing purple scythe missed my face by a few centimeters.

"So you wanna join your buddies huh?"

It flew at me and tried bringing down the scythe on me, but I used Royal Guard at the right moment to negate the attack and strike back with a palm attack. It flew back and screeched as I closed the distance between us with my Stinger move. I unleashed a flurry of slashes at it and jumped away as it tried to cut me to bits. It then started disappearing and reappearing and swung its scythe wildly. I dodged them all before finally ending it off with a blast to its ugly mug.

"Alright. I better catch up with the girls. But guessing on where I landed, that may take a while."

I let out a groan before walking down a path to a club.

"Whatever's in that tower better be for your boy!'
