Chapter 3 (Nova)
I was on the run from the spaghetti minions. My whole gang was eaten by the flying one. How I got in a gang? That was a little complicated.
My mother was pregnant with me while she was dating a gang leader. When she gave birth, my father, the leader, killed her, then blamed it on the hospital saying that they overdosed her. I wasn't supposed to ever know this but as a member of a gang, I am good at eavesdropping. My father wanted me to be the next leader. Heck, I wasn't going to lead that. No way possible.
When I witness my "family" get eaten, I was a little sour but everyone there treat me like crap anyway. Well except Ember. She was my only friend. I didn't know where she was, and I couldn't risk going back to look for her. For right now I had to focus on getting away from the slimy monsters. Once I knew I was far ahead, I climbed onto a tree and traveled that way. I heard voices, two of them I believe. I traveled in that direction. They were being attacked. I watched them fight off the dinner entrées, one at a time. The younger one had a sword and the other a pair of nunchucks. The sword killed them. I needed to get my hands on it. I spectated them as they swing across the ravine. The brown eyed girl slipped on the edge and held onto a root of a strong oak tree. The older girl helped her up. I followed them as they walked, neither saying a word. I took this as my opportunity to pounce. The younger one was lagging behind which was to my advantage.
I climbed down a tree further from them. When the passed, I grabbed the girl by the waist and pulled her into the greenery covering her mouth. I blindfolded her and dragged her to a hidden cabin about 650 feet away. Once I got there, I tied her tightly to a wooden chair, took her backpack and weapons, then finally taking off her blindfold. Her eyes were filled with fear. She didn't say a word, probably in fear of her life.
"State your name," I commanded.
"Gloria." I could hear in her voice uneasiness, fear. "What's yours?" I smiled at her nervousness.
"I'm Nova. You will not speak of this encounter to anyone. Are we clear? If you do, I will come hunt you down."
"Crystal." She nodded. I took her sword and took a few swings. I didn't take her handgun because I wanted to be a little merciful. I sensed something or someone. I moved back behind Gloria with the sword in hand. The door bursts open, and I immediately held the sword close to Gloria's throat. I looked up, and it was that girl and a mysterious young man. Gloria gave a soft whimper.
"Please! Whatever you do, please don't hurt my sister!" The green eyed girl pleaded. Sister? I dropped to my knees in sorrow.
Flashback
"Please!" I yelled. "Whatever you do, don't hurt my sister!" They gang had no mercy. They killed her right in front of me. I cried and cried and cried all day and night.
End flashback
I couldn't harm her if I wanted to. No one deserves to witness the dead of a sibling. I sobbed on the hardwood floor with all three of them watching me. "Um. Nova, I am not sure they your crying, but thank you." Gloria said. She is thanking me? Why?
"I agree. Thank you for showing mercy on my sister." The word sister made me weep harder. I got up to my feet and cut Gloria's ropes. I bowed sincerely to all of them.
"I-I-I am so so so so so so so s-sorry." I cried.
"Why are you crying?" Gloria asked.
"How do you even care? I almost killed you." I whispered.
"But you didn't. You showed mercy on me, and in return I will give you sympathy. You can trust me." I looked into her eyes. All I could see was kindness, I felt like I could trust this girl.
"Well, it just.....I had a sister once. She was just like you. She was in shackles and chains, but they didn't listen to my pleads. They killed her on the s-spot. I-I-I had to wa-watch her die. R-right in front of me." The girl embraced me as I cried on her shoulder. The boy just watched, while Gloria's sister was rubbing my back kindly. I stopped my tears and gave Gloria her weapons back. I took my hood off to reveal my face. "I'm sorry for causing you distress." I said bowing then running off. I didn't care if they wanted to help me. I didn't care if they cared about me. I just ran as far as away as I could.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed Nova's backstory. Sorry it's a tad short. Next chapter might be too. See ya next time!
