"Lollipop lollipop, lolli, lolli, lolli, lollipop... " Fergus hummed The Chordettes song Lollipop quietly to himself as he heaved himself onto the row of dark blue lockers that stood like stoic guards in the quiet hallway.

He pulled his legs under himself, standing up on the lockers, a smirk pulling at his naturally dark lips as he stared at the fire alarm that was stuck on the wall like big, red button that screamed look-at-me!

He stopped humming, sharpening his ears as held his breath, flickering his eyes down the halls. No one was near, just perfect.

He pulled out a black lighter that was pretty scratched, but it still worked, so, he didn't mind.

He folded open the math quiz he had taken last week, a red solid A+ was written on the rop right corner. Fergus hated math, he really did.
He licked his dry lips, and lit the quiz on fire. He watched as the small flames crawled up, threatening to eat the whole work.

Fergus ducked the piece of burning paper in the fire alarm and jumped off the lockers, opening a pack of gum as the hallways and rooms filled with groaning students as the alarms started blaring.

Fergus calmly walked, ignoring the way the doors were thrown open and masses of students from all classes started skipping towards the entrance of the school. There were murmurs of excitement and screams of joy as the students were overcoming with relief to have been escaped the boring lecture. None of them paid attention to the one who saved them all from the horrendous way to becoming an adult.

Fergus.

The tall, pale skinned young man strolled down the hall, feeling as if he had accomplished the biggest goal in his entire eighteen years of life.

He avoided the sweaty bodies around him with ease, having learned it from young age. He hated to be touched, in fact, he didn't even like people. They were annoying, but he did like to annoy them all.

As Fergus was going with the flow of students who were escaping from a 'fire', a hollering voice made the tall young man freeze on mid step, one foot out, the other inside the building. "Fergus Finlay! Stop this instant!" the dark haired boy peeked over his shoulder, his apple green eyes wide with surprise as nearly every head turned towards him.

"You! In my office, now! And everyone else, get back to your classes, right now!" the short, balding man yelled, holding the almost burn piece of paper in between his shaking fingers. Fergus had two choises.

Choice number one. He could turn around and follow the headmaster, Mister McGarthi back into his small, suffocating office and listen to him ramble on and on about him getting almost expelled. About gratitude and being so rude to the workers and his fellow students all the time. Fergus could almost say every word Mister McGarthi was just about to say, he had it all memorised from all the previous times he had been in the headmasters office.

Choice number two: step outside and run for his freedom. He could say he didn't see McGarthi trying to catch up to him. Besides, the old man had no proof it had been Fergus.

So, Fergus jogged outside, pulling his backpack on. He completely ignored the voice of the headmaster calling him back, threatening to give him detention. It was almost like a sign to the other students as they too ran from the school, ignoring the red faced headmaster and angry teachers.

Having freed his fellow students from two more hours of brain-kill, Fergus turned towards the busy streets as the sound of running footsteps dissappeared, he didn't even feel bad about it.

The tall young man entered the dimly lit garage after a short walk, he gave an awkward smile to couple of workmen who simply ignored him, giving him a side glance as they went back to their jobs. Fergus noticed the hunched figure in the back, slowly moping the floors with dirty water, yet too lazy to refill the bucket.

Fergus halted, almost doubling over his long feet at the sudden stop. He stared at the figure couple of feet from him, letting out a sigh of relief as he realized the guy hadn't even seen him yet. Quiet as a cat, he snuck closer. It wasn't that hard, considering the loud humming of mashinery and the yelling of workers. He held his breath as he lowered his head closer to the guys ear.

"your mother is here, why are you lazying around move it, move it bonjo!" Fergus screamed into his ear, making the golden haired young man drop the mop only to pick it up hurriedly, making it slip through his trembling fingers and fall into the pucket. Panicked, the golden haired man stumbled to pick it up again, only to crash into the pucket filled with dirty water, making it go crashing over the previously clean floor.

The golden haired man raised his hazel eyes filled with horror as he heard the loud laughter. "Fergus!" he jumped up, going to greet the taller of the two with an exited hug, only to have him being pushed back. "oh hell no Refster, you stay over there alright. You smell of oil and cheap floor cleaner." Fergus said, chuckling at the golden haired boy.

Refster Lennon untangled his headphones that were tightly around his feet, Twenty One Pilots blaring from them. He pushed the red bandana up, as it had fallen over his eyes during the fall earlier. "Why are you here so early, mate?" Refster asked curiously, swiping his hands against the oil stained overalls. Seeing the sloppy grin on Fergus' face as he leaned against blue Volkswagen Beetle that was waiting to be repaired, made Ref freeze and look up at him. "what did you do this time?"

"ah, nothing Ref, absolutely nothing."

"Yeah, you said that last time, then I heard from Leah that you had hired mariachi band to follow the headmaster around for 4 hours. Considering you're still wearing your last year converse, I still don't understand where you got the money for it." Ref mumbled, looking at the dirty floor hopelessly.

"from McGarthi's office, its his own fault for leaving the keys of his till safe laying around all the time..." Ref snickered, picking up the empty pucket and a mop. "I don't understand how you're still in school, I bet McGarthi will be in his grave sooner then expected, all because of you bro." Fergus crunched his nose, adjusting his worn schoolbag as he followed Ref to the back, to refill the pucket. "nah, he should thank me. I just shortened his work day." Ref's Hazel eyes widened, impressed smirk forming on his pale lips. "no way dude! What did you do!" he exclaimed, a shimmer of excitement in his eyes. "just triggered the fire alarm actually, nothing big this time."

His response was answered with laughter as Ref shook his head, his curls pouncing slightly. "bro, still better then swiping the floors all day long. I wish I could go to school." the younger of the two whined, glaring at the pucket that was slowly filling with water. Fergus felt awkward, he didn't know how to show compassion. "er, I wouldn't, it's boring and nothing ever happens there, besides, most adults are whining and they are always in bad mood, no one ever gets a joke."
Fergus mumbled the last part, hoping it was enought to cheer Ref a little.

"homeschooling sucks, sometimes I think I should follow Leah and start protesting." Ref's family was a large one, five kids and only one of them went to school, everyone else were home schooled. Solely because Mister Lennon claimed he didn't have any money to cover the taxes, Fergus called it bullshit. The man just wanted more workers around his garage. Besides, what Fergus could understand of society and the way it worked, homeschooling was supposed to cost a lot more then going to average school.

"seriously, it's not that interesting Refster. Now, do you think I would visit your dirty smelling garage for nothing? I wanted to know when ae you free, are we gonna go to park today? Its Wednesday, there should be some tourists around." the dark haired teen offered, hoping they could make some easy money. "not today, mate I-" "Remington!" the high pitched voice yelled his name making the young lad go paler then he already was. "why are the upper floors still dirty and what on heavens name happened here!" Missis Lennon appeared on the doorway, taking in the two pale teens, one of them looking as if he was about to wet his pants, while the other was just awkwardly tall in the bathroom where Ref was refilling the bucket.

"I, uh, accident-" Missis Lennons angry brown eyes snapped on Ref, making the blonde gulp loudly. "Oh I see, sorry Fergus, but Remington is busy today. Very busy. You can go and play some other time." the angry woman said as if she was talking to little children. Fergus gritted his teeth, annoyed how Missis Lennon always seemed to hate him. "sure thing, I'll come by tomorrow." Fergus' reply was answered with a scoff as she went to investigate a drawer to find some kind of soap for Ref. The dark haired teen took it as his cue to leave the awkward silence. Ref mouthed take me with you over Ms Lennons large shoulder. Fergus only shrugged and high tailed out of the garage, groaning when he could hear thunder in the distance.

Jogging through the streets of New York, the weather decided to cry on him. He sighed once he made it to the doorsteps of a large house that looked as if it was about to collapse in near future.

He opened the door, slamming it shut behind him and cutting off the sound of rain hitting the pavement. As he was removing his coat, two little kids came running by, knocking him almost off his feet. "watch yourselves!" Fergus snapped, but the two were already up the stairs, giggling at his angry expression.

Fergus hated little children, that didn't make it any better that he was living in a house that was full of them. "Hey! Margarina-" "Margaret" the young girl muttered. "Margarina, where's Ms Finlay?" the girl who was around ten or eleven years old shrugged her tiny shoulders, going back to the comics at hand. "last I saw she was in the kitchen, giving hell to the twins for putting the curtains on fire again." she muttered.

Fergus didn't say anything else as he strolled upstairs to his room, ignoring the screeching children as best as he could.

After all, orphanages are full of children.
