Woah

I'm about to finish the orbit, when I notice a bright light in the distance. What could THAT be? I wondered. I decide to investigate. I steer my ship towards the bright light, which is quickly transitioning into... a black hole?! Ah, shite! I think, spinning my ship back around towards the direction of my base.

Once I'm safely aboard, I run to the nearest window. "Oh, that's so COOL!" I breathe, taking in the complete and utter awesomeness of it all. Sure, they were deadly, but man, is it amazing. This just goes to show how much of space we still don't know about. I think aloud. Faster than light and sound... man. I shake my head slowly, still in awe.

The black holes have been happening frequently, something the government calls a "sandbox". What it basically means is that we can control outer space. We can warp it, cause super novas, do basically ANYTHING. We accidentally blew up the sun by causing the moon to crash into it, so earth is not longer habitable. Everyone either lives in space, or are just GONE. But it's okay. The sun would've just crashed into the Earth sooner or later, and BOY was it cool to see. The sun blowing up, I mean.

I then remember a mission someone in my squad was assigned to. Scan a black hole. That's what the board had said... I think. I run over to my computer and then on one of the many computers. I hear the audible SQEAK of the satellite dish on the top of base as I turn it towards the black hole. I attempt a scan, but my computer just wouldn't take it. "My computer can't handle the rendering." I whisper. "COOL!" I shout after a moment of silence passes.

Because it really, honestly is. My squad captain, Mark, walks in. "What are you shouting about?" He asks, a hint of annoyance in his voice. I point outside. "Sir, our computer is unable to handle the awesomeness of what is happening outside, and therefore will not work." I say in my most serious tone, but a tiny giggle still slips out. He glanced outside then raises an eyebrow. "Ohh... is that so?" He asks, cracking a smile. "So... you think the universe blowing up around us is cool?" He asks, malice entering his tone. I immediately regret saying anything, but I keep talking. "Not really, but, you gotta at least admit it's pretty cool." I mutter, not meeting his eyes. He bend his face down to my level and looks me right in the eyes, his pink mustache looking ridiculous. "I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that." He says with a smirk. "Sir?" I ask, but he's already leaving the room, his red hair shining.

I blow air out from between my lips, making a whistling noise. The black hole ended, and now I was bored. Maybe I'll BOARD my ship! I think, cracking myself up. I'm still chuckling as I go to the place where our sun used to be. I glance at my sandbox, knowing what I was about to do was against the rules. But I just couldn't help myself. I hit a few buttons on my sandbox, and sit back as I watch the universe change around me. I look a few miles ahead of me and see what I have created.

"Yes!" I shout, throwing a fist into the air.  I keep looking at the constellation I made. I doze off just looking at the dogs face winking down at me from the stars. I hear my mothers voice before I fall into the darkness. "Sweet dreams." She murmurs as I lose consciousness. "Night, mama." I whisper. And then I'm gone.
