When Opie called after I had text him about salad I dropped a plate. It shattering was the only noise in the house. I decided to clean it up later. I put my shoes, grabbed my coat and the keys. Kate was supposed to bring my car sometime next week. I stopped halfway up the driveway and thought to myself I didn't know where the hospital was. I called Jocelyn to ask her but got her voicemail. I also call Jacob and got the same thing. I called Jase next and he picked up on the second ring

"Yo" he answered

"Jase! Thank god you answered." I said while releasing a breath I didn't know I was holding

"What's wrong Meredith?" he asked in a worried voice

"Where is the hospital? Opie asked me to come but I don't know where it is." I said while rambling.

"Whoa slow down take a deep breath and tell me what happened." he told me trying to calm me down.

I went on to tell him what Opie had told me and how I tried to call Jocelyn and Jacob but they didn't answer. He told me to come by the shop and pick him up and he would go with me. So I went back to driving to get him.

He was sitting on his bike when I pulled up to the shop and he quickly got in the car.

"Will your motorcycle be okay?" I asked before pulling away.

"Yeah I locked the motor on it so It wont crank up." He said while buckling up. I nodded and started back driving. He told me which way to go and we finally made it to the hospital.

We got out and started walking fast towards the entrance. I walked up to the front desk and was about to tell the lady who I was looking for but I was engulfed by a bear hug. I was stiff for a minute until I smelled Opie's cologne.

"I'm so glad you're here sweetheart." he said.

I looked at him and could tell he was crying his eyes were red and pufffy

"I'm sorry it took so long I didn't know where the hospital was. I called Jocelyn and Jacob and they didn't answer. So I started to freak out and then I called Jase he rode with me here is she okay opie?" I asked at the end of my rambling.

"I haven't heard anything yet. Thanks for coming and helping Meredith." He said to Jase and gave him one of them bro hugs
"No problem I hope she's okay." Jase said we walked over to the waiting area and waited for the doctor.

Opie had fallen asleep while ago and Jason needed to go home. So I got up and took Jace to the shop to get his bike. I drove over to McDonald's and got food but before I left I sit down to eat mine. I was minding my own business when someone sat across from me. I looked up and it was a devil herself.

I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they'd fall out my head.

"What do you want Hannah?" I hissed.

"Nothing I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the way I acted." she said while smiling sheepishly at me.

I was shocked but kept my guard up

"Okay." I said while eating my fries.

She nodded more to herself than me and got up from the chair and left. I continue to eat and then I tried calling Jocelyn again but she didn't answer and call Jacob again and he didn't answer either. So I began to worry it wasn't like them not to answer. I figured I'd go over and check on them as I was driving over I got really bad feeling. So when I got over there I got the pepper spray out of my pocket book and got out the car. I walked up to the steps and my heart dropped to my stomach. The door was open and the wood around the door was splintered I opened the door with my foot and walked in the living room. I gasped and drop the pepper spray on the floor.  Jacob was lying on the floor with Jocelyn in a puddle of blood. I walked over to them and saw them still breathing. I called nine-one-one and told them to bring two ambulances. The cop was the first to arrive. I told him my story and he said that there has been a series of break-ins over the last month. I got back in my car and drove back to the hospital. I got out and walked into where Opie was and sat down next to him. He was still sleeping I hated to wake him up but I had to tell him. I shook him a little bit and he bolted up.

"What's wrong?" He said evident on his face

"Well I went over to Jacob's house because they weren't answering. When i got there I had a bad feeling. I got out and someone had broke into their house and shot them both but they were still alive so I called the police and ambulance and they brought them here." I rushed out and by the time I was done he was crying a silent cry and it broke my heart. In that moment the doctor came out.

"Mr. James?" He asked.

"Yes sir?" Opie stood up as I did.

"Your grandmother has cancer." he said.

As soon as he said that opie collapsed on the floor crying as did I.
